  1. Is the Hard Rock the only 4* available in those 2 zones on Hot.wire and PRICELINE EXPRESS. Looking at the lists here on better bidding it shows a couple other possibilities. Or do you know it is the Hard Rock based on the amenities listed? Just curious, cause if it isn't for sure the Hard Rock, then Im just going to select something on the strip, even if it isn't the ideal hotel. Thanks
  2. Sorry for the delayed response. Yes splitting up my trip is definitely an option and sounds like probably the best choice. I will look into that further. Ideally it'd be great to get The Hard Rock for the first half of the stay and then the back half doesn't matter quite as much as log as the room is still somewhat nice. The back half of the trip I have to do some business so I won't be able to go out as much as the first 4 days anyway.
  3. I definitely want to stay on or near the strip so downtown is out. My hotel preferences are probably something along these lines. 1. Hard Rock 2. Palms 3. MGM Grand 4. Encore/Wynn 5. Planet Hollywood I honestly don't know if any of those are even close to the price range Im wanting. The top choice would be Cosmo but I know thats out of the equation. I was really asking for advice from those that might be familiar with the vegas strip hotels and could recommend one that is within my price range that is close to what Im looking for as Im not really familiar with them all.
  4. I'm not really sure what hotel exactly. I just know I would like to stay close to $60 a night + the resort fee and I have a 10% off PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. I'm basically looking for the best hotel possible for that price, hopefully with a great pool and good nightlife and women (I'm late 20's male). If I'm going to be off the strip I was hoping for either The Palms or Hard Rock but I'm not sure if I can get a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for them for cheap enough. I'm also fine with naming my own price if I can be fairly certain I will win a specific hotel (obviously I know, no guarantees).
  5. Thanks for the info yellowdog! I just wasn't sure if it was Rio because Rio isn't listed on the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals list here on better bidding, only the Palms. Can anyone else confirm this is indeed Rio? As far as the 4 star strip north, is this for sure SLS? I also see Treasure Island listed as a possibility on the list here on BetterBidding. Thanks again for the help!
  6. The dates for the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal are July 20-27, the star rating is 4 star and the price is 63 a night. The amenities include Pets, Free Parking, Business Center, Restaurant, Pool, Casino, and Fitness Center. Im hoping this is the Palms and not Rio. Im also hoping someone can provide some recommendations on if this is the best property I can get for roughly 60 a night on or near the strip for a late 20's male who's looking for a good pool and good nightlife/girls. Thanks for the help!
  7. I never ended up booking a hotel for these dates since the price was not right.
  8. I am trying to book a hotel in vegas from 7/21-7/27. I would like to stay on or near the strip. Im trying to stay under $60 + resort fee a night. Any advice on the best possible hotel/casino I can get for this? If I am staying off the strip I was hoping to either stay at the Palms or Hard Rock. I was also looking PRICELINE EXPRESS deals and I see there is a 4 star deal for west of the strip for $69 a night. I have a 10% off discount so this would be close to 60. However, Im unsure if this would be The Palms or Rio. Any guesses? Im a late 20's male so Im trying to find a good hotel/casino with a solid pool and good nightlife/girls :). Hence my trying to get the Palms or Hard Rock. Any advice for better/cheaper hotels on the strip that fit this criteria would be great. Thanks for the help!
  9. Actually, no I wouldn't still want to know. It is useless considering that the price for that hotel/zone hasn't changed in 3 years. It's pretty easy to search and see that the price is the same for that zone. Me reposting those same prices is pretty pointless and a waste of time for me. If the prices were changing, then yes. Also, I don't have time to come to this site to use the links here to Priceline, every time I go to the Priceline site. I understand that it helps the board but it doesn't benefit me at all.
  10. You're assuming that I don't click on the links here to start my bidding. I actually do click on the links so I don't think you should assume like that. As far as sharing my wins with the rest of the board, I didn't see the point in posting wins for the exact same property for the exact same price, over and over. It would just clutter the board and not provide any real value. I can if you really want me to. Thanks for the advice though.
  11. Dates of travel are May 5-9. It's just strange that every time I've bid for this zone in the past I have gotten the same Hyatt Regency hotel. Now all of a sudden, I can't get it. I've literally never gotten another hotel in this zone at 4 stars. Edit: I actually just called the hotel and they said that they are only at about 40% capacity during the days of my stay. Really not sure why I couldn't win this hotel this time.
  12. I tried bidding on a 4 star hotel in Dallas "DFW Airport North". I have bid and won this hotel (Hyatt Regency) over 10 times the past 3 years and as recently as 3 weeks ago. Every time I bid, the bid is triggered at $46 or $47. I've tried lower but I haven't been successful. Today I tried to bid for this once again and was unsuccessful. The only difference about my bid this time is I tried to use one of the $5 off per day rewards that I have. I started bidding at $41+$5 and went up to as high as $43+5 and could not get the hotel. I guess my question is, is it possible that the hotel has increased the minimum price they want on Priceline? Or does Priceline kind of "screw you" when you use the $5 off per day reward. Meaning, you think you are getting a lower price but they really just raise the minimum price necessary to win a hotel? I doubt this hotel is booked during the dates on my stay since they have like 10 floors of rooms and I've never seen it very busy, weekday or weekend. Any ideas?
  13. I recently bid $50 for a 3* in Wichita Falls, TX. My original bid was rejected and I was offered to rebid at $73. I usually will reject these rebid offers and just add a zone or star level and rebid myself but there is only 1 zone in Wichita Falls and I had to have a hotel for tonight so I just accepted the rebid. I have never bid on a hotel in a city with only 1 zone, are there any tips/tricks to being able to rebid since you can't select any other zones? Also, I did not see the Courtyard By Marriott listed in the hotel list for Wichita Falls. Hopefully someone can add it so others in the future can have a better idea of hotels available. Thanks for the great site!
  14. I ended up dropping down to a 2.5* and got the Holiday Inn Express in Northeast Wichita for $50.00 plus taxes and fees. Decent hotel, nothing too special about it. Typical HIE.
  15. I went ahead and did another round of bidding tonight. Working my way through the different zones and working my way up to $65.00. I was still unsuccessful in all my tries. Tomorrow night will be the last time I will be able to bid before my visit on the 6th. I guess if I can't win something then I will be forced to go down to a 2.5 star and lower my price. Hopefully someone can help in getting me a 3.5 or 3 star hotel for my stay. Thanks for the help.
  16. I have been biding everyday for the last 3 or so days. The max I have gone up to is $65.00. This is really the max price I would like to spend for either a 3.5 or 3 star. I thought, based on past wins that I definitely could have won something below $65.00.
  17. Sorry I forgot to update that previous thread. Didn't book a car so I forgot about the thread. Any help with a 3.5 or 3 star hotel in Wichita would be greatly appreciated. I was really hoping for the Hyatt Downtown, but I don't think that is going to happen. Thanks
  18. I ended up not renting a car for this trip and borrowed a friends car. The rates were way to high for an under 25 driver. Sorry for the late update, forgot to update since I didn't book a car.
  19. I will be traveling to Wichita, KS on July 6, 2011 and leaving on July 7, 2011. I have been bidding on 3.5 and 3 star hotels in all areas of Wichita for the last 3 days and have had no success. I started off the bidding fairly low at $45. I have recently upped the price to a max bid of $65 a night. Based on reviews here on Better Bidding, I should have won a hotel by now. Im just wondering if anyone can give me some advice how how to get one of the 3.5 or 3 star hotels in Wichita. I don't really want to go down to the 2.5 stars cause they don't look like anything too special. Thanks for the advice.
  20. Just booked a one night stay in Oklahoma City, OK for $55.00. I have stayed here before and booked through PRICELINE but this is the cheapest I have got it for so far. I think in the past I got it for $60 or $65 a night. $55 was also the first bid input and was accepted, makes me wish I would have started lower but based on previous stays I didn't think anything lower was possible. Hope this helps others and I did use the PRICELINE link through this site. Thanks
  21. I dont work for anyone who has affiliations with a rental company and as far as I know there are only national chain car rental companies at the airport. If Priceline is making a counter offer of $68.00 a day is it even worth bidding lower than that? Where should I start bidding? Tomorrow is the last day I have to bid so I need a "magical" number to offer. I would just like something cheaper than $400....if I could get $300 it would be great.
  22. I really dont want to be stuck paying $400+ for a rental car and I leave wednesday morning so I will have to find something tomorrow if I am lucky. Please Help. Thank You. Also, I will use the link this site provides so this site will get credit. Thanks
  23. Ive been trying to bid for a car at the Jacksonville airport for 4/1/09-4/6/09. Ever bid I enter gets rejected even up to $60.00 a day. The only thing I could get was an offer for $68.00 a day which came out to be roughly $400.00 for the 5 days. I really cant afford this much and I already have a reservation with dollar for $418.00 if all else fails. Please help if you have any ideas how a driver aged 23 can get a car for a reasonable amount of money. $400.00 seams ridiculous. Thanks
