  1. Suppose my bid is successful and I get the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki. Do they end up giving me the worst room in the hotel? And is there a way to "upgrade" to a better room after my bid is successful? Thanks
  2. The Francis Marion is considered a 4* (not a 3* or 3 1/2*) The Vendue Inn does not include a free breakfast or Internet unless you book directly through their hotel
  3. Kind of hard not to go over their cheapest price. For 4* places in Charleston everything is almost $100 more than the $165 EXCEPT for these cheap rooms. How do you avoid that problem? If my bid is over their cheapest price wouldn't the PRICELINE price guarantee go into effect then?
  4. Thoughts on this... The Vendue Inn (charleston, SC) has many different types of rooms at many different prices. During the time I want to go their prices range from $155 for an interior room (no window) all the way up to $385 for an Junior suite. If I get a Priceline price of $165 and they stick me in the $155 room, am I out of luck or do I have some recourse with Priceline. In addition, if the hotel offers a free breakfast, should that also Apply to Priceline rooms as well? Thanks
  5. As an update. The date for the 2 nights is 09-03-10 thru 09-05-10
  6. Bid $40 and got the "add $12 to your bid" message. Tried $45 and got the "add $13 to your bid" message. I went with the add $12 option and got the Courtyard for $52 plus tax. Used the betterbidding PRICELINE link. Thanks
  7. Testing out this whole process the other night and bid $100 for a 4* and was offered it if I added $22. I declined and came back and bid again today $100 and got it. Renaissance Charleston 04/18 - 04/20
  8. Sorry if this has been answered already... 1. Bidding on PRICELINE. If I bid on a 4star and don't get it do I get another option to bid on a 3.5 star and then do it again? 2. If I bid on a 3.5 star would that include 3.5 and 4 or JUST 3.5 Thanks
  9. Used the PRICELINE link and made my 1st bid at $65. It was rejected and was told if I added $17 I could rebid. I decided to add another zone that didn't have a 5* and rebid it at $70. Got it. B.T.W. Can I call the hotel now that I have the reservation and request certain types of beds? 2 qns vs. 1 king? Thanks everyone!
  10. So I just need to go thru your link to the MGM Grand and you'll get the "credit" for it? I'll be making that booking today or tomorrow. Thanks for the $35 credit info!
  11. So if I understand what you are saying is that based on what amenities HOTWIRE is showing there is a good chance it would be the MGM Grand and with PRICELINE it's more of a gamble? (no pun intended) That being said, it looks like this time of year (Nov 24) shouldn't be a probelm getting a decent room at a good price? Thanks
  12. Duh!! Sorry and thanks. 4 or 5 star and only on the 24th. Strip area.... And just as an FYI I was on the MGM Grand WEB site and they had "regular" rooms for that date going for $69. Thanks!
  13. Since this is 2 days before Thanksgiving I have no idea if this is a good or bad time to be trying to get a room at a good rate. Any ideas? Thanks!
