5. With Oracle going on this timeframe, I consider this a good deal for the area. Used this site PRICELINE EXPRESS link to book. Thought it might be Le Meridien because of the 'free internet'. Very happy it was the HR, though. Thank you. 6. Used this site's PRICELINE EXPRESS link to book. First bid $102 for 4.5* Downtown and then $82 for 4* Downtown. Neither accepted. Previously noticed this 4.5* Priceline Express option, so used it as backup. As this was a 4.5* listing, we thought it would be the Omni Dallas Hotel. Was a bit surprised to get the Hyatt Regency, as it is shown as 4* on this site. It is no problem, though. Have stayed at this hotel before and it is more than fine for this price. Thank you. Total Charges: Room price: $122.00/night Number of rooms: 1 rooms Number of nights: 3 nights Room subtotal: $366.00 Taxes & fees: $76.86 Total charged today: $442.86 Savings: You saved 56%* Amenities: Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Handicap Accessible Business Center

9. Ended up booking booking directly, as this trip really needs to be specific. Thank you for all of the advice, though. If this trip were 100% leisure, I would have used this site's Priceline link, as I have many times in the past. I'll be using this site again next month for a domestic stay. Thanks again.
10. Tsim Sha Tsui is the priority. West Hong Kong is OK, though. Both can be used in the strategy. Right now, I am seeing $223 for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for a 5* in TST. So I am thinking maybe $200 for the bid ceiling? Thanks for your help.
11. Thanks for the reply. I'd be interested in starting to bid at any time now. About two weeks away from check-in. Check-in Fri, Sept 26. Check-out Fri, Oct 3. I really want 5* in TST. That is the priority. Though, I can live with West HK area, as well. I don't want to consider any other area. Likewise, I think I want to stick with 5*. Any strategy advice is greatly appreciated.
12. Normally when I use Priceline, it is last minute and minimal nights. Never attempted a trip this long (nor International location) via Priceline. Is there any advice out there for this long in this location? I'm looking for 5-star accommodations in Hong Kong, though will consider 4-star. Never been, so don't know too much about the area. Seems like the nicer hotels are in Tsim Sha Tsui, West Hong Kong Island, and East Hong Kong Island? I'm particularly looking for advice on how far in advance (or how close in) to start process, as well as starting price. I don't really have a price ceiling, though would love to keep it below $200/night. Dates are Sept 26 - Oct 3. Thanks for any help.
13. Book this prop for $97/night for three nights. With taxes, came out to $342.87 total. Used this site's PRICELINE link to book. Thanks.

Wasn't expecting to be in Seattle this weekend. Nonetheless, no problem. At first, didn't know how to feel about this hotel win. I was blown away, though. I definitely recommend this prop. Great offerings and even better staff. Was very happy to receive same location on second stay, albeit unexpected. When come back to area, will definitely check out this hotel again.

20. Thought I would post a follow-up on this stay. I read in a different thread someone recommended against this hotel because of its location. We actually LOVED this hotel. Yes, it is a slightly far walk from the Quarter or Riverfront. However, it is a very short, convenient, and inexpensive cab ride anywhere in the area. On one outing, we took a cab to the Riverfront and strolled our way back through the various areas and made our way all the way back to the hotel, during the daytime of course. I wouldn't recommend that walk, but it is doable. Again, though, it is a very short cab ride anywhere in the vicinity. The hotel itself is very nice, with great restaurants. The room was great. Upon our next visit, I'll have no problem wanting to stay there again. I definitely understand the economic benefit to parking in one of the O'Keefe garages. That said, we still went with valet. Yes, it was more expensive. It was extremely convenient, though, with unlimited in and out. We made our way around the city with ease. For our needs, the valet was a good idea. Thanks again for all of the helpful advice and suggestions.
21. Thank you for the advice. Yeah, we will have a vehicle. I believe the Hyatt has a $40/day valet. I was just assuming to do that and cab everywhere. How far are those garages? Is that more practical? I don't mind the valet if it means the vehicle is more safe.
22. Thanks for the advice. Used the link in this thread to book. Tried $61 for French Quarter, and it was declined. It counter offered $84. Instead, I choose $73 and added Downtown. Happy to receive the Hyatt. Should be a short cab ride to everywhere in the area? Hyatt Regency New Orleans Downtown New Orleans 601 Loyola Ave New Orleans, LA 70113 504-561-1234 Offer Price: $73.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $146.00 Taxes & Fees: $31.96 Priceline Hotel Coupon: -$7.30 Congratulations! 23. Hello everyone. First timer to New Orleans, so unfamiliar with the areas. Do y'all have a location recommendation? Want to stay in the heart of the city to experience the vibe. Looking for good food, good music, enjoyable, yet controlled, nightlife. Are French Quarter and/or Downtown the best options? Any safety concerns? Prefer a 4* option for 7/12 - 7/14, with a decent parking option. Thanks in advance for the help!
24. Used this site's PRICELINE link to book ... Courtyard Marriott New York Manhattan/Fifth Avenue Empire State Building Area 3 E 40th St, New York, NY 10016 (212) 447-1500 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $153.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $459.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $102.78 (USD) Total Room Cost: $561.78 (USD) Thought about waiting until the morning of, but decided to try a bid tonight. Overall, we're happy with it. Thanks.
25. I've been looking at recent bids, as well as how prices look on HOTWIRE. As we get closer to check-in, prices have definitely dropped, which is consistent with experience in the past. That said, I'll assume to start bidding the night before (Friday), or even the day of (Saturday). If this past weekend is any indication, HOTWIRE had 4* hotels for sub $150, let alone 3* in the $120s. I'll try TS first, and then incrementally add MTW, MTE, Empire, Chelsea, in that order. Numbers adjusted after recent price changes, I think I'll go up to $150 for TS, and then try the other zones, ultimately being happy with as low as a 3* in the $120's. Hope it works.
