  1. Pleasantly surprised with this win, especially during the opening weekend of the College World Series.
  2. It's a nice hotel, but the reception area is incredibly too small for how busy their restaurant + bar is. I shouldn't have to maneuver through crowds of people to get to an elevator. Sound proofing was poor, heard hall noise throughout the night. Wouldn't complain about staying here again, but I wouldn't actively seek it out.
  3. Older hotel, the lobby and common areas were really nice. The rooms were a little worn out, showed more of the hotel's age.
  4. Started bidding around $80, didn't receive any counter offers, won at $103. Stars: 4 Zones: Downtown, Scottsdale, Tempe Run-of-the-mill 4-star convention hotel. Nothing special, but no complaints.
  5. The hotel itself was fine for a night, but definitely not deserving of a 4-star rating or their "resort" fee. It's not located near anything and there's nothing resort about it. More realistic star rating would be 2.5/3-star non-resort. Ultimately would not recommend at its current star level.
  6. Amenities: Business Center, Free Internet, Pool, Gym In my booking reservation, additional amenities shown are: Non-smoking and Handicap Accessible
  7. Looking for a 3.5-star hotel in Goodyear/Litchfield/Glendale or West Phoenix/Avondale for the Fiesta Bowl. Tried Name Your Own Price for 3.5-stars (and up), rejected at: 70, 80, 87, 90, 97, 107, 112, 117 Did a new search for 4-star with Downtown Phoenix added, was rejected at: 70, 80, 90, 95 Saw that there was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $97, took that instead, got the Hyatt Regency (which also does not have a resort fee).
  8. Bidding for a 4-star hotel in either Scottsdale or Downtown Phoenix. $65 in Scottsdale (countered/shown other options)$71 (added Downtown Phoenix) (rejected)$75 (added Apache Junction) ACCEPTEDEach room has a $20 resort fee which includes WiFi and parking. Searching shows that this used to be a 2.5-star motel and reviews are skeptical of the "renovations" that elevated it to 4-stars. It also appears that their standard rooms do not offer a 2-bed option. I'll update with a shortened review once the stay is completed, but I'm not too excited for this "boutique" hotel.
  9. Wanted to follow up and say that this hotel was amazing and an absolute bargain at $112/night. While there is, apparently, not much in the immediate area, it's only a 5 minute walk downtown and a $10 Uber to any of the major Brisbane neighborhoods.
  10. Bid up to $105 on Price.line before rolling the dice on this Hot.wire listing. Stars: 5 Zone: Brisbane Amenities: Airport shuttle, fitness center, internet access, pool(s), restaurant(s) Wasn't familiar with the brand, but the reviews have me very pleased with the win.
  11. Started at $60/night. Saw that Hotwire had a 4* hotel in the area for $115. Bid up to $115. On my final $115 bid, got the Gaylord Texan, which, IMO, is considerably nicer than the other 4* properties in the area. Unfortunately, even though it's labeled as a 4* hotel, they still hit you with a $30/night resort fee (plus $17/night self-parking), so my total cost ended up being close to $190/night with taxes, resort fee, and parking.
  12. Started at $53 Automatic counter at $72 Rebid at $57, $62 and then finally $67 Accepted at the Holiday Inn Chico.
  13. Thanks for this bit of advice. I didn't even have to ask, the desk agent gave me room 3201 with a great view of the city. The lake view from the elevator vestibule was amazing. Would have paid for an upgrade if I were staying for more than the 12 hours this go-around. Parking was $60/night for valet, but there was a self-park garage a couple blocks away for $37/night.
  14. First bid at $80, rejected. Second bid at $92, rejected. Third bid at $101, accepted. Looks like parking is a bit steep ($50+), but otherwise, looks to be a good win at a good hotel. edit: Sorry, this is a 4-star hotel. Accidentally missed that when posting the topic.
  15. Had absolutely no luck getting anything downtown this weekend, wasn't even getting hits at the airport or in Wauwatosa. Saw another member's priceline win at this hotel for $48; tried $45, rejected, rebid at $51 and got it.
  16. Couldn't get a 4* to show up through bids up to $90, tried 3.5* at $53 and got the Hilton on the first try.
  17. Yep, I've tried bidding $110 for 3.5* and I didn't even receive a counter. I see the Pfister still has rooms available for $239 and the Hilton has rooms for $143; I just wonder if those rooms will ever be allocated to PRICELINE/HOTWIRE.
  18. Looking for a 3.5-to-4 star hotel in downtown Milwaukee; I've bid up to $110/night and haven't even received a counter offer. I've previously won the Pfister and Hilton City Center for half that amount and I can book the Hilton direct through their site for $143. Is there something I'm missing? Will availability increase as the week goes on?
  19. Bid once at $55 in Downtown (hoping for Sheraton or JW Marriott), got IC first try for a quick weekend get-away. Room rate is $164 on their website, so I'm more than satisfied, just wish I started lower. e: Sorry, forgot to mark this as a 4* property. I can't seem to find a way to edit this variable though.
  20. If you do have a bad stay at the Radisson, be sure to email Priceline at [email protected] and [email protected] to state your dissatisfaction. Priceline refunded me half of my stay (luckily it was a quick 2-day business trip), but it's more important that Priceline has written documentation that Radisson is not a 3.5* quality hotel.
  21. Was hoping to get the Omni again, but oh well. Started at $55, then did $5 increments to $65. Both $55 and $60 were rejected, added zones and got the Wyndham at $65.
  22. After my horrible and quick stay and priceline win at the Downtown Austin Radisson, was forced to book another hotel. First bid was $55 for 3.5* in Austin South - Airport (AUS), got it first try, same-day booking and check-in (not sure if this helped with the lower cost). Great hotel, free parking, a quick 5 minute drive to downtown, no noticeable highway noise. Free internet, morning beverage and newspaper if you sign up for their rewards program (which is free and can be done in your room).
  23. This is not a 3.5* quality hotel. Avoid at all costs. Their treatment of Priceline customers is terrible. They haven't renovated one wing of their hotel, which they are, apparently, filling through Priceline bookings. When I went to check-in, they said they only had smoking rooms available. The smoking side of the hotel strongly smells like an ashtray (especially in the halls); it was very apparent that people were fully utilizing their ability to smoke inside this hotel. Was comped parking ($17/day) due to being placed in a smoking room, but for me, that wasn't an option. I checked out literally 15 minutes after checking in. The room itself was decrepit: dated furnishings, out-of-service elevators, a noticeable stain on the bed
  24. Only bid $60/night, used $80 Bonus Cash. Great hotel, located off 15th St. Suites are huge and have a full kitchen (full refrigerator/freezer, oven, stove, microwave) with a balcony that overlooks downtown Austin. Underground parking is $17/day, but we were never charged (the exit gate was always open). My favorite place I've stayed in Austin!
