  1. I've tried bidding for a few days with no luck. Today, when my trip was less than a week out, I was successful. And as always, I used your PRICELINE link.
  2. First bid accepted! There is not a great deal of choice in hotels near Emory University. Regular rate for this hotel during my stay is $185 or $175 with AAA. Used your PRICELINE link of course!
  3. First bid accepted! (And I used your PRICELINE link before signing in.) I wasn't expecting it to be accepted, as most hotels are $295 at best during my stay. This hotel is $399 ($349 AAA) during my stay. I'm very happy!
  4. The lowest available rate for this hotel is $251.10/night during my stay. I was bidding for Union Square East, and Union Square West. This hotel had the lowest available rate of all known 4* hotels in both areas, so I was not surprised to get it. I am happy. I used your link to PRICELINE.
  5. The retail price of the room is $369, excluding taxes & fees according to the hotel's website. First bid of $250 was rejected. I used your link to PRICELINE.
  6. I thought this was a very good price since it is Parents' Weekend at Duke University. I was finding prices more than this for mid-size cars. Total price $111.74, and Priceline said I saved 35%. I used your PRICELINE link (before I logged on).
  7. Yes, it is still the White House-Downtown zone on PRICELINE. (It is Dupont Circle on HOTWIRE.)
  8. I have bid daily for about 2 weeks for this hotel stay. I noticed today that there was a lowered price on a "blind" hotel on Hotwire. While trying to determine which property it was, I decided to bid on Priceline, knowing I had a better chance of getting my bid accepted today. (The Hotwire price was $141/night, and I was fairly certain it was this hotel or possibly the Fairfax at Embassy Row.) I bid for 2 rooms, and was accepted at $128 per night per room. I used your link to PRICELINE, as always.
  9. Never mind! Because of this new "low" price on Hotwire, I went to Priceline (through your link of course) and bid successfully. I will post my results in the Priceline section.
  10. I admit I have been unsuccessful in my bidding on Priceline for a Washington DC Hotel, so I checked out Hotwire for the first time. I am traveling with my husband & 17 year old daughter on college trip and need 2 rooms for June 16 - June 19. I came across a 4.5 star Dupont Circle/National Zoo area hotel for $141! The amenities listed are: free internet, boutique hotel, fitness center, restaurant(s), business center, high-speed internet access. spa services. It is recommended by 75%. Am I correct in guessing it's the Fairfax at Embassy Row??? If so, I think I'll jump on it. Thanks in advance for any help. I just noticed that The Madison better matches the amenities. I had to go back several months to see where these two hotels showed up.
  11. I've been bidding for this hotel stay daily for nearly a week. New inventory must have dropped! I'm taking my daughter to look at colleges, but grew up in the Chicago suburbs. I'm very happy with my results. As always, I used your link to PRICELINE. Room subtotal $630.00 Taxes & Fees $113.04 Total $743.04 This is for 2 rooms. I checked the box, but it doesn't show that information...
  12. I saw that most of the recent accepted bids were for $90 for dates from Jan. - Mar. I decided to give it a quick bid at $85 to see what would happen. My bid was accepted. I knew that this was a weekday stay, so the price I got would be reasonable, but since it is the week of Passover & Easter, I wasn't certain. The property's website rates quote $233/night for the AAA rate during this stay. (To clarify, the accepted bid is for $85 per room per night.) As always, I used your link for PRICELINE.
  13. I had trouble bidding for this date, so I broke it off from the rest of my stay. I won a priceline bid at a good price of $150 per room per night for 7/15/11-7/18/11. I was offered an option to extend my stay, which I did. I was not accepted at the $150 price, but countered at $201 per room per night. I accepted this counter deciding there was value to not having to change hotels... I used your link to PRICELINE.
  14. I actually was trying to bid 7/14/11-7/18/11, but found the Thurs, 7/14/11 was giving me trouble. I eliminated that day, and bid $130 per night. I was immediately countered at $165, ignored the counter and continued bidding in $5 increments using the many free re-bid zones available. I was accepted at $150. I was then given the option to extend my visit. I put in my Thursday date, 7/14/11. I was countered with an offer of $201 per room per night. I accepted that figuring there was some value to not having to change hotels, (I am traveling with my husband & 16 year old daughter.), and allowing my daughter privacy. As always, I used your link to PRICELINE.
  15. I bid $80, & was countered $20 higher at $100. I added North (free re-bid) and upped my bid to $85. It was accepted! This DOES include a weekend stay during the summer. (I haven't seen a weekend bid accepted yet.) I used your link again. :) FYI, I had been bidding 5* for a few weeks up to $145, with no counter offer, and the "little chance of your offer being accepted" message...
  16. That was per room, per night. Sorry, I got the Wyndam Grand London Chelsea Harbor.
  17. I absolutely used your PRICELINE link each time I bid! :)
  18. Longtime lurker. I've been bidding for 2 rooms for perhaps 14 days or so, off & on. Today I bid $125 for MTW & was immediately countered with $160. (I have bid as high as $175 previously.) Knowing I have so many free rebids, I rejected the counter, upped my bid by $5, & had my offer accepted. I thought I might have to wait until next month to get a bid accepted, so I am very pleased. I made good use of your calendar & other winning bids. Thank you!
