  1. First offer yesterday @$48 (4star / pest area only) resulted in a counter-offer to raise by $14, which I rejected. Tried again today at $55 and got the Interconti right away. Was rather confident to get the Interconti because the only other 4star in Pest area which had been reported up to now (Ramada) showed "fully booked" on their homepage... Intercontinental Budapest 4 Star Pest Budapest V Apacazi Csere J.U. 12-14 Budapest, Hungary 36-1-3276333 Check-In Date: Sun, Sep 13, 2009 / After 02:00 PM Check-Out Date: Mon, Sep 14, 2009 / 12:00 PM Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$55.00 Subtotal: US$55.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$18.82 Total Charges: US$73.82 Ichg.com wants 97 Euro+21% per night (pre-paid), so nice savings Used the PRICELINE - Link, of course.
  2. Nice to see a new property for Singapore showing up! have a nice stay
  3. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$100.00 Subtotal: US$100.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$28.75 Total Charges: US$128.75 Hilton Budapest Westend 5 Star Pest Vaci Ut 1-3 Budapest, Hungary 36 1 2885500 Check-In Date: Thu, Sep 10, 2009 / After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Fri, Sep 11, 2009 / 12:00 PM .. probably quite an overbid.. but I was crazy enough to hope for the Marriott... (which had higher rates than the Hilton for this period), however some savings over official rates used the PRICELINE - Link, as usual.
  4. just be aware that there's hardly any free parking space around the Courtyard neither... looks like it.. I mean usually a lot of place available, but not for free, unfortunately, got 2 tickets there... you have to use the machines for getting parking tickets. So finally I ended up using the in-house car park of the cy.. (chargeable too, of course)
  5. so you got the Meridien as 5star? (as the header still says 4star)
  6. Usually, it seems to be the same inventory with similar prices.. I have the feeling I've paid sometimes slightly more on the PL Asia site in comparison to the US site, but maybe due to currency exchange rates used.
  7. Tried PRICELINE before for up to $100/night for East and Las Ramblas, both rejected, changed to HOTWIRE: Got the Melia for $69/night Melia Barcelona Avda. De Sarria 50, Barcelona, ES, 08029 HotelPhone:011-34-93-410-60-60 Amenities Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access CheckInDate:Sat, Mar 7, 2009 CheckOutDate:Mon, Mar 9, 2009 Hotel rate per night - Hotwire hot Rate:$69.00 NoOfNights:2 NoOfRooms:1 Subtotal: $138.00 Tax recovery charges and fees: $10.61 Total price: $148.61 Melia.com want 120 EUR per night, best price, so cool savings. Used the HOTWIRE link, of course
  8. Nice hotel indeed, excellent condition overall, nice staff, comfortable room (seperate tub and shower cubicle, comfy king-size-bed), internet connection fast, but expensive (20 euro for 24hrs). Room service great food, but expensive plus 5 Euro delivery charge (to room). Windows don`t open, only non-smoking rooms, electronic minibar. Photos here: Realhotelphotos
  9. yep, thanks.. - well just around the corner from my (then emtpy) flat.. but last night in France before moving to Switzerland.. so I thought a 4star would be nice..
  10. Well, I don't think there's a rule on priceline that say only 4 days of stay.. though of course it's more probable to get something with less days than 18 days, sure. As you have plenty of time, why don't you just go ahead and try your luck, you can start lowballing with rather low bids.. And there's in principle no "too early" for bidding as long as your days of stay are really fixed. While there will be hotels that load more inventory inside priceline with little bit advance, while others might sell a part of their inventory rather early via PRICELINE... depending on what they expect from these periods in terms of guest load. April doesn't seem to me like peak season in HKG, so good luck.
  11. well, I sat next to her and refused any help as long as she didn't use the link - so I forced her to do so :)
  12. A friend of mine got the Marriott in Amsterdam for November 8th to 9th. She offered $85 for City Center-Museum Quarter (only, 1st bid) and got a counter-offer of $106 which she accepted. She used the PRICELINE link for this booking :)
  13. Up to now - if I remember correctly - there weren't any (PL) deceptions overserved for the 5-star-area for BKK Riverside/Silom area.. so I guess, I'd try more, too.. but the only 5star in riverside area on PL's regular booking site that shows up for the dates mentioned is the Peninsula (at $280). So, maybe PL hasn't inventory for the Sha-La and the Banyan yet.. (but this is only an indication, nothing is sure, of course). Especially, as it'll be still high season in Thailand. Good luck!
  14. Long time ago that a 5star in BKK Riverside had been reported... I guess you'd have to go much higher if you want to keep on trying for this zone.
  15. The Westin had appeared sometimes on PL but quite time ago, if I remember correctly - when it still used to be the Arabella Sheraton Grand. I guess it's in principle still participating, but as WillTravel pointed out, not at "rather low" rates. And it's probably still in FRA-East zone, so you might get stuck with one of the other 4star properties in the east zone.
  16. I guess, it miiight be possible that the new 3 courtyards (marriott) on Phuket will participate in PRICELINE now, probably as 3 stars (probably Patong area, Bang Tao - ? - and Karon).. but still too risky to try, IMHO.
  17. maybe an overbid, but wanted it to be settled.. Offer Price Summary Bonus Cash Per Room, Per Night: more information US$5.00 Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$55.00 Total Offer Price Per Room, Per Night with Bonus: US$60.00 Total Charges to your Credit Card Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: US$55.00 Subtotal: US$110.00 Taxes & Service Fees: US$31.11 Total Charges: US$141.11 First bid was 41+5 bonus bucks = 46, rejected; added Fra-East and increased to 55+5 Moevenpick.com wants 130.00 EUR for the 2 nights incl. taxes, so still saved around 40 euro
  18. Whatever (overbidding...) - a great price for this place anyhow
  19. Congratulations! Long time that I haven't seen the PanPac show up on PL for SIN. - Try go get a harbour view balcony room, even if they ask you a surcharge for that - it's definitely worth it
  20. Hi Nounou - might you still be able to upload the photos to the site? would be much appreciated. thanks
  21. Great price for a probably great hotel.. well done.
  22. Well, the hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, residential area, and comes with a garden terrace in the courtyard. Thus, especially rooms facing the courtyard are very quiet. I went there by car, so can't really tell about the public transportation nearby, but I guess the next subway station is "Galluswarte", or at least some bus stations nearby. The hotel is not very far from the Marriott and the fairgrounds, though in PL zone for FRA East. The lobby and the main building seem to be renovated, the lobby was quite nice and well designed. There was a computer terminal in the lobby for free guest use. Check-in was rather friendly, though they told me currently no room available yet, but offered me a single room instead. Upon askind ng for smoking preference, and after I had asked for a smoking room, she found a room in the Westend building of the hotel for me anyhow (but, I guess a single room, not sure anyway). The westend building (you have to walk some time to get there from the lobby) seems to be the non-renovated one and looks rather shady, dark and a little bit dirty. The elevator of this building was very slow and looked quite tired already as well. My room was on the first floor and was rather small. The bed was 200x140cm, thus French bed, as we say in Europe. Looked really more like a single room, though all the rooms on this floor seemed to be of the same size, looking at the floormap. The interior was styled in "historical style", thus quite timeless, but however a little bit run-down on the second view (furniture damaged etc.). It was not really very clean as well. The bathroom looked a bit better, and more modern, but the shower cabin (no tub) came already with some mold. There was a minibar in the room (nicely filled, but of course rather expensive) and a small cable TV with pay TV. Wireless Internet was available, but for charge (provided by vodafone). The bed was not very comfortable, seemed rather used already either. I ordered room-service dinner, and I have to admit the food was excellent! Some of the best room-service dinner I've ever had... Check-Out was ok, though they asked me at first to pay for the whole room charge, but after having insisted that it was a prepaid booking, it was quickly corrected and I only had to pay extra for the room-service food. No questions asked if I've had liked the stay, no good trip etc.. thus a bit disappointing. Finally, I'd guess everything would have been better if they had given me one of the renovated rooms already.. so you have to be lucky with this hotel (similarily as before with the Le Meridien Parkhotel in Frankfurt, I guess, when they still had the unrenovated rooms in the side building and the renovated ones in the main building). In this case now, I'd have given this establishment a 3 star rating at maximum. Hotel photos
  23. Just checked in for my second stay at the Moevenpick, thus just a short update: they do provide smoking rooms now, the whole 1st floor is a smoking floor nowadays. WiFi is available and free of charge (great).
