  11. I haven't used Priceline yet to bid for a hotel, but from what I understand: to get the most free rebids it's likely that I would have to close the browser several times to maximise the number of free rebids - does this mean that each time I would have to renter my credit card info, address etc each time I open a new browser window? Are there any benefits in registering with Priceline - for instance, are your credit cards/address details saved in Priceline so they are automatically generated after you have logged in and start bidding?
  12. Yes, my mistake - it always was the Central zone. I didn't know where to look in "My Accounts" for the hotel zone and have now found it under "hotel details". Tim
  13. Amenities: Boutique Hotel Near Beach Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Date booked: 03/17/09 and used the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link.
  14. Thanks for your reply - yes your right I have more than enough time to keep placing bids each 24 hours. The reason for staying in the airport area is that our flight arrives late and I wanted to get to a hotel ASAP and then leave the next morning to the area we want to stay in.
  15. Haven't bid on PRICELINE prior to this and I put a bid in for a hotel in the Honolulu airport area for 07/31/09 to 08/01/09 using your link to PRICELINE. Options were 1 and 2*'s only and my bid for a 2* was not accepted. I am now going to select the Ihilani (#4) area and bid again and if that fails select the Oahu North Shore (#5) area to bid for a third time. In these two other areas (4 & 5) the only options coming up are those for resorts and nothing else (no hotels). If I understand correctly it's possible to get upgraded to a higher * level when selecting another area but am I right in thinking that my low bids (for the 2* in the airport area) will not even be close to getting a resort in areas 4 & 5 so I should be safe to increase my bidding for a hotel in the airport area? thanks
  16. Thanks for your reply - we are using my brother-in-laws car (he lives in Canada) to tour the States and Canada so unfortunately cannot do what you suggest. I will check out park and fly/cruise options that might be available for Miami.
  17. I want to bid for a hotel in Miami near the cruise port that offers free parking while cruising. I don't think I can do this using Priceline so am looking at Hotwire - am I correct in thinking that under amenties (in the Hotwire hotels list for Florida) when it states free parking it means free extended parking while cruising or just free parking while staying at the hotel. I guess I can check for sure by determining what the hotel is (using amenties) and ringing them - any other suggestions? Thanks
  18. I will be touring the States in August/September and plan to use PRICELINE as much as I can to cut costs. As such I want to stay in cheaper 1 and 2 star hotels/motels but I've read alot of posts about how bad 1* and 2* hotels are and, if you want to get a clean decent room 3* is the minimum to go for. Is this generalizing too much - do most (1 and2 *) establishments offer clean, basic rooms or is there no guarantee what you will get with them? Thanks
  19. We are looking at a cruise for our upcoming US holiday - I've been trying to find the best website to get discounted cruises and so far Vacations to go seems pretty good. Has anyone used other websites (including PRICELINE / HOTWIRE) that offer the best discounts or are they all pretty much the same? thanks
