  1. Yes, I used the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link. I used my mobile phone to search for a place. I then checked the Betterbidding website for a Hotwire Coupon. Found one, then used the link to get my reservation and $15 discount!
  2. Note the slight name change: it is now a Radisson hotel. Another last minute Hotwire reservation that worked out perfectly for my family. The hotel was in the middle of a remodel that was scheduled to finish before 04 July 2018. So lobby was unavailable and breakfast area was in a temporary space. The room smelled of fresh paint. I don't know if any of this effected the Hotwire rates or availability, but it wasn't too inconvenient. Amenities Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby Accessibility Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  3. Hi thereuare, Thanks for the info on the "Last person got ___". That makes sense. I try my best to use the BetterBidding tools. For this trip, I even risked losing the deal when it popped up in the middle of the day while at Magic Mountain. The BetterBidding website was overwhelming my crappy WiFi and mobile phone connections. Fortunately, the deal was there when I got a better connection that night. So are you able to see that I made my reservation through Betterbiddding? I'd feel bad if you didn't get the credit. :-(
  4. Took another trip to Legoland California, getting the Fairfield again after some research and good timing. The Fairfield wasn't showing up if the search was only for a day. But plugging in a wider date range brought it up. A few times the offer that came up with the Fairfield's recommended percentage (95%) and Tripadvisor score (4.5) said that the last person got the La Quinta. But the La Quinta usually comes up as recommended 85% and Tripadvisor score of 4. Is this a glitch or is Hotwire messing with us? Here's the amenities listed. The list should be updated. Complimentary: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Free parking Amenities: Business center, Fitness center, Pool(s), Self-service laundry, Smoke-free rooms This hotel hasn't shared any accessibility options with HOTWIRE. The Fairfield was a good place to stay for a nice winter weather holiday. The only drawbacks for us was no hot tub, a smaller pool, and repetitive breakfasts. So we ended up extending our stay for a couple of days to enjoy the comfortable queen and the large flatscreen TV.
  5. Sorry I missed your request. The trip details are a match for the amenities. And the stay at the Sands Inn was good, with a better 2.5 breakfast and a clean room. A good stay on the trip between San Francisco and San Diego. Amenities: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access Accessibility: Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible parking
  6. Hi AaronJB, I copied the amenities straight from my account. The tell for me as I was trying to determine the unlisted hotel was its TripAdvisor reviews.
  7. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access
  8. Looks like a new addition to the HOTWIRE hotels list. Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Tennis nearby The hotel is a short drive to Legoland and the Outlets. It's a bit longer drive to grocery stores and dining. So convenient if you've got a car. My wife found the room clean and comfortable and the breakfast palatable. So when my son asked if we could spend another couple of days in Legoland with our new Costco play passes, I extended our stay. I showed the front desk clerk the HOTWIRE extension offer of $87/day all included and she matched it.
  9. Looks like the Best Western Valencia Inn has been upgraded to 2.5 stars. Price was $72 in the morning, went up to $87 around noon, and I snagged it at $77 mid-afternoon. $94.97 was final price. Business Center Complimentary breakfast Complimentary continental breakfast Fitness Center Free High Speed Internet Free Internet Free Internet In Public Areas Free Internet In Room Free parking Heated pool Non-smoking Rooms Outdoor Pool Pets Allowed Swimming Pool
  10. Scored four nights via the BiddingHelper.com. For an inexpensive stay for a trip to Legoland, Holiday Inn is a good deal. Holiday Inn is a nice upgrade away from the noisy freeway of the lower range places in Carlsbad. Saying that after last year spending three nights in the Rodeway and one night in the Holiday Inn. You don't get breakfast at the Holiday Inn, but I'll just pack some cereal and milk to match the Rodeway. As I researched hotel options the last few days, I was seeing it at $86. Went to make my final selection this morning and the price had dropped to $78. And my wife scolds me for waiting to the last minute... Odd behaviour on the part of Hotwire. As I looked at the hotel details, it promoted me with "Book soon! The last person got the Carlsbad By The Sea Resort". Odd in that the amenities didn't match. A hotel that matched the Sea Resort was showing up at $125. So is that blurb meaning the last person for the Carlsbad zone got the Sea Resort, not the last person that choose those amenities? Free parking Free Internet Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access
  11. Hi ecaz02, I hope that your experience at the Holiday Inn changes your disappointment. The Holiday Inn may not have been as convenient as the Carlsbad by the Sea Resort, but you saved about $40. After you pay for parking, you still have $25 to pay towards Legos for your child. :-) And since children stay free at the Holiday Inn, they even gave us two queens in a room so big, it had an echo. At the Carlsbad by the Sea, I "forgot" to plug my son into the Hot.wire search, so he just crowded into the queen with us. Your trip to Legoland was two weeks into Legoland's high season. So I can see why Carlsbad by the Sea wasn't showing up on Hotwire. You'll need to wait until Legoland quiets down. That's when Carlsbad by the Sea was on Hot.wire for $75 a night. And they were happy to have us.
  12. When we went to Legoland last week, I too hoped we'd be able to get Carlsbad By the Sea through Hotwire. But I didn't see it. Thus my Priceline stays at the Rodeway and Holiday Inn. If you want to leave your car at the hotel and walk to Legoland, then Carlsbad By the Sea is the way to go. It's about a 15 minute walk from door to gate. For my very social 6-year old son, he also enjoyed meeting other kids at the free breakfast and the swimming pool. But if you're going to drive and park at Legoland, the extra distance is not that much. Google maps gives 6 minutes vs 10 minutes. Other bonuses for the Holiday Inn are a nice pool, basketball court, and putting green, but no resort fee. The room was much nicer, larger, cleaner, and quieter. (Carlsbad by the Sea is next to the freeway, so some rooms get the freeway noise.) The buffet breakfast was $12(?), but it was more substantial then the one offered at Carlsbad by the Sea. My wife, who doesn't really like "American" breakfasts, used it as an excuse for us to go to cafes highly rated on Yelp. The only negative was that it being a true hotel, you can't park directly in front of the room. Thus the need for multiple trips to the parking lot to retrieve luggage. So, for our next trip to Legoland, I'm going to try staying at the Holiday Inn Carlsbad.
  13. I believe that this is the Holiday Inn Carlsbad. The amenities match up with this new hotel that's only been open for a couple of months. I stayed at the HI for a night on a Priceline bid. It a very nice place to stay being so new and clean.
  14. A new hotel for the Price.line list. The Holiday Inn Carlsbad is a match for amenities with the 3* Priceline Express with: Free Parking, Business Center, Restaurant, Free Internet, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Fitness Center Last night a 3* showed up on PRICELINE EXPRESS for $88. So I started bidding at $83 and got it in the first round. My wife and I were debating about driving all night back to northern California after the day at Legoland. She said if I could find a nicer place than the Rodeway Inn for under $100, we should stay. Thus the bid for $83 and a final price of $100.41. :D
  15. Please add Rodeway Inn Near Legoland to the Priceline Express list. Rated 7.0 out of 10 (or higher) Amenities: Free Parking, Free Internet, Free Breakfast, Indoor or Outdoor Pool Going for a family trip to Legoland before it becomes packed with the summer crowd. But found that the hotels around Legoland are already in their summer pricing. The wife set a budget of three nights for under $400. I used the Bidding.Helper to pull up comparisons and make a few $100/night bids on Priceline for 3* hotels. When that failed, I tried a few bids for 2* starting at $50 and stopping at $62. Switched to PRICELINE EXPRESS for the $64 2*. With a three night total of $227.76, I came in way under wife's budget. But the Rodeway is sure downscale from the 4* I was first aiming for but missed for $100/night. ;-)
  16. Thanks Yellowdog. I knew I was forgetting some steps... It looks like I did get all the amenities... $95 Carlsbad, CA June 14, 2015 to June 17, 2015 | 1 room, 3 nights, 2 adults, 0 children FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access
  17. This one is coming up as unidentified, yet it shows up regularly for around $100 as I search the dates around Jun 14 - Jun 16. Business center, Fitness center, Free Internet, Free parking, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Self-service laundry 85% recommended "Booked 11 times today" I'm looking forward to reserving with the Betterbidding tools. :D
  18. A return to the Carlsbad by the Sea Resort for another trip to Legoland with the 6-year old. And another last minute reservation as I was trying to determine if the weekend was clear for a trip down to SoCal. Resort fee: $11 Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower.
  19. Whoops! I'm getting so forgetful. <_< Free parking Free breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness center Pool(s) Business center Self-service laundry Internet access
  20. That's not downtown Fresno! That's Calwa! The downtown area scoops down to this Highway 99 truck stop. It's about a seven minute drive to "downtown". I was hoping that this was the Super 8 so I could walk to my morning appointment. But this worked out fine for a shower and a bed for just me. Please add to the Hotwire list of hotels. Days Inn calls it Days Inn Fresno South. I started bidding on Price.line, but worked my way up to $58 for a 2* and $48 on a 1* with no hits. So switched to HOTWIRE.
  21. Amenities: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. I believe this is new to the list, but matches thereuare's prediction in a previous post. "Resort" is certainly a stretch for this older hotel, thus the mixed reviews about it on Travelocity and Yelp. But is sure has worked out nicely for our four-day stay in San Diego, with two of those to the nearby Legoland. Legoland is about a twenty minute walk door-to-door. I hear that's what it would take to drive over and find $$ parking or even longer for the complimentary shuttle. Of course I used the betterbidding HOTWIRE search to start my reservation. Thanks!!
  22. The wife decided that she was going to reward my 4-year old for "graduating" from preschool with a trip to Disneyland. (And of course reward herself...) So she tasked me with creating an itinerary and making reservations. Since my wife is particular about hotels and there are so many bad ones in the Anaheim area, I decided it was best to go with Hotwire and an identifiable hotel. Luckily, Monday morning a hotel that Betterbidding identified as the Ayres showed up for $83 a night. I started researching, finding that it was served by the resort transit system and well reviewed. So the wife wouldn't mind up to a half-hour trip to Disneyland. But by the time I prepared the itinerary in the afternoon, it was up to $88 a night! And after I got the wife's approval, it was at $93! Walking away hoping it would drop in the evening, it showed as having only three rooms. Then it disappeareed... So when it showed up this morning for $94 a night, I got it... Still a deal versus the lowest regular rate of $126 a night... And of course I used the BetterBidding HOTWIRE link! :-) Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Rate per night: $94.00 Nights: 4 Rooms: 1 Tax recovery charges & fees: $85.57 Subtotal: $461.57 Trip total: $461.57
  23. Going with a known quantity on Hotwire: The Holiday Inn was on Hotwire for $49. But prefer Hawthorn with the bigger room and kitchenette. And my four-year old loves to go to the lobby for breakfast. Amenities Free Parking Free Breakfast Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Kitchenette In-room accessibility And of course used the Betterbidding search tool. Thanks!!
  24. Whoops! I must have dropped kitchenette when I copied and pasted. It's there... Amenities Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Kitchenette
  25. Went with Hotwire as it assured getting a hotel with complimentary breakfast. The breakfast may not be gourmet, but it saves a few $$ and is very convenient, especially with an active 3-year old in tow. Amenities Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Used the Betterbidding tools to start my search. This is my first visit since Betterbidding has been upgraded. It's so sweet!!!
