  1. $100 per night, total $363.36 with tax. Hotwire was offering 4* $118. Happy! Have won this before, lovely hotel, quieter area on weekends. Only 4* ever see on this zone list so a safe bet. Parking, pet, pool, spa, non-smoking, gym, restaurant, handicapped, business center
  2. I am trying to find the identity of this condo too. This Fri, Feb 27 one night $144. 95% approval. 131 reviews, "Amazing", same amenities, yet all searches for a condo in this area come up empty.... Hotwire vacations, regular hotel websites, etc. There is a Shearton Suites, but not a condo? Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks,
  3. Pool, Restaurant, Free Parking, Business Center. Bed Choice available, Guest Favorite, 8+ Like other resorts, also says includes Free Parking (and there is free internet too) but there is a 10% Resort fee added. Next Tues-Fri is now $185 so we "lucked out" on the week chosen. Purchased at the $88 rate two and half weeks before check-in. Thanks for all the information on this forum, Janet
  4. Only known 4* in this zone, so was confident of the PRICELINE EXPRESS win. Confirmation reads either in the Boardwalk Inn or Villages. Guestrooms have a just mini-fridge, but we requested and were given an upgrade to a studio in the Villages with a kitchen with convection/MW too, large balcony overlooking the firepit and fountain/pond. Week after LaborDay was perfect weather and resort was quiet. Very clean and modern, well-located within the resort. A short walk to the beach and beachside pools at the Pavillion.
  5. Bidding for the next night, thought I might get a real bargain, but no. Not bad, best AAA rate for Omni was $228, and believe it was the one 4* on Hotwire for $128. With so many free re-bids, started at $54, 64, 74, 84, 89, 94 and then won it for $100. Used your PRICELINE links as always, Thank you, Janet
  6. Checked one way between Fort Meyers and Miami and all were ridiculous, even on the discount sites here. Had $3 bonus cash to use up to today. Tried $16-$18 yesterday for three classes..no joy. Message from PL was that would have a good chance at $24 or $25. Today I first tried $18, and then was accepted at $20/day, plus $3 bonus by ALAMO. Details: MID-SIZE Your Offer Price: $20.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 3 days(2 days and 22 hours) Subtotal: $60.00 Taxes and Fees: $33.31 Total Charges: $93.31 Lowest Published Price: $192.24 Total Savings:* $98.93 (You saved 51%) Bid through your PRICELINE link. Thanks for the help, Janet
  7. We did add another day, only $72 for a Tuesday night. But since it ishandled as a separate confirmation, Hotwire charges another fee. So fee and tax were $15.15 or a total of $87.15 for another night, to add to above reservation.
  8. Amenities: Resort Beach Front Oceanfront Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program The last four icons were not on the first page, but had to continue & "see all" to find them. When I saw complete list, then was confident it was the Westin. And at $74 for two nights, tax & fee is $25.14 for a trip total of $173.14. Lowest pre-paid rate on the Westin website is $185 per night, just for room. Great last minute deal! This resort has a $16 resort fee, covering self-parking, wireless internet, local phone, fitness, etc.
  9. We have had a hotel booked (through regular reservations) for months for 8/26-30. Due to Hurricane Irene, plans had to be changed. We just decided to visit for the next two days anyway. After reading the recent post from p1fcl01, I used your HOTWIRE link and also got the Westin! The complete list of amenities, clicked "see all", listed everything inc. children's activities. We love Westins, and the condo friends have rented is in the same area of the island. So thrilled, we may extend the stay which has been offered to us. Many thanks! Janet :)
  10. If you need any bidding help, or to report your win, please start a NEW TOPIC. Thanks for the hierarchy confirmation, thereuare, but no win to report. Understand tried for Fri & Sat night (two nights from now) on a weekend forecast to be perfect weather. Something that has not happened before when bidding to me: after submitting two bids, PL gave this message: Thank You for Naming Your Own Price – Unfortunately, we can't accept your offer. During our search, however, we did find special priceline rates available for your travel dates at the hotels shown below. Followed by a list of their regular PL hotel room rates (Hilton Resort was $169/night) and there was NO way to get back to "Name Your Own Price". Had to log in account and restart process three times (each time through BB PRICELINE link!). Bid $45 to $80 in $5 increments, but no joy. May try again tomorrow or seek alternate, but though I would finish this thread. If do get anything through PL, I will post it.
  11. Terrific deal for this Hilton beach property! Hope you are looking forward to your stay. Indeed a terrific deal! Yeah for a new resort level in MB. Planning to try for this weekend which I know may be harder to snag. Just want to double check with the experts. Resort is a higher star level than 4*, even though placed below 1*, so I have 7 free rebids in MB now, or more using permutations. quite a few zone changes since the last time I bid here.
  12. Yes, I only bid 4* because wanted the Hyatt or Westin. Never bid a 3* anywhere unless no choice...good hotels and more "free rebids" for more fun and games! I must thank you since it was your post that had me bid again.. was planning to wait until the weekend to give it another try.
  13. Patience is a virtue. :) Needed one pre-cruise night and DH wanted to stay in Coral Gables, so booked a AAA rate ($175 + tax) at Mayfair for back-up. Started bidding on 2/18 up to $100 using CG and six free rebids. On 2/20 had $5 bonus money, not accepted. Bid on 2/26 up to $100, still nothing. In FL high season good hotels appear to release rooms to PL only close to check-in, so I don’t bother to bid much until the last week. Today reading that a previous poster got the Hyatt Regency CG for $106, I started at $70. PL countered with $90. I bid $80 by adding Adventura and won the Hyatt Regency. $98.64 total with tax. Very happy...have stayed here before with PL..great hotel!! Thank you for this wonderful resource. As always used your link to PRICELINE. Warm regards, Janet
  14. The 14th is start of MLK weekend, but I've had pre-cruise Friday nights at peak times before with more choice, for less $. Asked the DT Marriott and they were close to sold-out with a big RCI cruise block and 5 weddings. On another site the Conrad was available for a few days and then disappeared, and since have been fooling around with this since August trying every 2 weeks or so, I finally booked the InterCon DT at $167. (not PRICELINE or HOTWIRE). Since you need to stay near airport and probably want shuttles and not rent a car, I would suggest checking direct with some of the newly built moderate hotel chains, like a Hyatt Place. Maybe book a fully-refundable back-up and keep bidding closer to date.
  15. I been bidding P/L 4* DT and CG for Jan 14th up to $110 and still no joy. Very few hotels on Hotwire too and those higher rates than I have paid before for winter month pre-cruise days. Yet to find something "big" going on that weekend, but hotel rates in Miami area seem to indicate so. Hotwire does have one 3* at MIA for $70 for the 14th.
  16. Beside looking at the Car Rental forum below, also look at "Other Deals-Car Rental". I have done Priceline for cars in Florida, but as many times as not, I've found better through places like warehouse clubs, Entertainment Book, and here: http://www.vacationoutlet.com/promotion/vo...tal/default.asp Someone on this forum gave me this website a few years ago and I still find good deals by checking each of their providers. But look here too..may be more up to date codes, etc : http://www.betterbidding.com/index.php?showforum=304&
  17. I second that...it offers "priceless" help with bidding strategies. However, found an error and don't know who/how to contact, so now posting here. Somehow a 2009 price for Westin Coral Gables for $64 is repeated every day in Jan & Feb 2011 Priceline-Florida calendar. Maybe more? The link goes back to a 2009/10 discussion but at first hadn't checked it out. Many thanks for the terrific job all the administrators do on this website
  18. This property is in a strange mixed neighborhood near the airport..some brand new condos and an auto wreck yard on a working canal. The hotel itself though is very new, with amazing modern rooms in a sleek, eco-friendly style. Very comfortable, quiet and clean. The front desk staff was charming and helpful. Shuttle service to the airport was excellent, running every 20 minutes except midnight-4 am. Since there were only 2 4* hotels for Hotwire/Airport zone reported, the six amenities listed for Westin Wall Centre made it a clear choice with which we were quite happy..the best of what a new airport hotel can be.
  19. This property is very close (indeed slopeside) to the base of the mountain, lifts and everything in the village. Our lovely room backed up to dense trees at the mountain base. Small balcony, fireplace, kitchen and great bathroom in modern lodge style with
  20. Thank you for the tip about using your link to start my Westin searches..I always use your two PRICELINE and HOTWIRE bidding links but didn't know about starting other searches here. We are at the Westin Bear Mountain now..gorgeous room and internet/parking/fitness/pool/etc. all included in a $15 resort fee. It's about a half hour from Victoria but we love this location ..better than being downtown at Inner Harbour. I'll write a review when we return..Janet
  21. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... Here they are: Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed, Internet Access Believe they were even in the same order as currently listed on the Better Bidding Canada Hotwire forum
  22. After fabulous stay at Westin Whistler using "Birthday" deal, average rate of $109, tried to do same at Westin Victoria. Helpful front desk there indicated that Sat night was sold out of lowest rate room, so the Birthday special or a great Last Minute rate they had of $119 per night was not available, however, the buy two, get one night free was. Booked two nights at $199, so now heading to Westin Victoria for average rate of $133 for three days. Better than rates seen on HOTWIRE for this August weekend in Victoria area.
  23. Hotwire $96 + $20.19 taxes & fees, total $120.19 Best Rate on hotel website was $149 + taxes = $169.86 Amenities same as already listed on BB so was easy to identify. As always, thanks for your help.
  24. Alas, didn't read the "fine print" on the Grand Pacific senior deal...it applies only to BC residents. However, note they also have a special offering a $25 "transportation credit" per night up until Aug 31, bringing the $189 standard room rate down to $164, still less than the HOTWIRE rate and w/o fees. The Westin birthday deals are usually quite good if available for the days needed, e.g. Whistler offer was not available with Fri/Sat check-in.
