Won the W Fort Lauderdale Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $90.00 Subtotal: $270.00 Taxes & Fees: $42.30 Total Charges: $312.30 Hotel website 335.67 per night. Looks like the 4* offered by Hotwire at $108 for same dates.
  2. 3 nights on Memorial Day Weekend. Bid on 3* St Pete Beach area. Started at $67, rejected with counter offer of $84. Continued with offers of $69, $72, $75, and won the Sirata Beach Resort at $78 I'm glad that I received the Sirata vs. the Sandpiper (with it's additional $25 per night resort fee).
  3. Hotel website $144 Treasure Island Bilmar's nightly rate was more than the other Priceline 3* hotels in the St Pete Beach area, so I was fairly confident that I would get a St Pete Hotel. Bid $63, $65, and won at $67. Sirata Beach Resort ($67 + 16.07 = $83.07 total)
  4. Hotel Website - $139 + tax Hotwire - $109 + tax and fees (fairly certain) Started bidding one night $85; rejected. No free rebids for 2 *. Changed bid to 2 nights $89; accepted Siesta Beach Resort and Suites $89 per night ( $178 + 30.28 = 208.28 total)
  5. Started bidding at $100, rejected. Rebid $105, rejected. Rebid of $110 accepted. Check-In Date: Wed, Nov 11, 2009 Check-Out Date: Sat, Nov 14, 2009 Marriott Suites Clearwater Beach On Sand Key Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $110.00 Subtotal: $330.00 Taxes & Fees: $52.89 Total Charges: $382.89 (Marriott Website price total: $716.63)
  6. If you go to (sister site?) easyclicktravel.com, you will see identical listings with hotel names. They are a dollar or two different in price, but the listings, star ratings, and web page is virtually identical.
  7. I was wondering if reported resort fees charged could be added to the hotel lists. I recently won the Sandpiper resort in St Pete Beach Florida and was hit with a $25 / night resort fee. I had a good idea of the hotel I was bidding on, so I had factored in the resort fee when making my bid(s). This is less of an issue with Hotwire, as they post approximate resort fees (although I'm not sure of the accuracy of these fees). Most of the time, these fees are posted on the hotel websites (buried in the fine print). Knowing these potential fees from the BB hotel listings would enable bidders to have a good idea of total potential costs when bidding in an area for Priceline, or when accepting a hotel from Hotwire.
  8. I was researching downtown Providence RI Hotwire hotels. I found the following Hotwire Vacation Package hotel amenities list mapped exactly to current opaque Hotwire offerings: 4* Hotel Providence - Boutique, Shuttle, Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Hi-speed Internet, Golf 3 1/2* Hotel Dolce Villa (Federal Hill) - Suite, Boutique, Hi-speed Internet, Golf, Kitchenette 3 1/2* Providence Biltmore - Fitness, Restaurant, Business, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Tennis
  9. After a litle homework, I was 99% sure I was bidding on the 3* Sandpiper. I proceeded to bid (factoring in their $25 resort fee). I started bidding at $69 for 2/28, 3/1, and 3/2. Rejected. Free re-bid at $72 per night was accepted. $252.92 total ($327.92 total with anticipated $75 additional resort fee). Hotel website was $483.84 with all taxes and fees (hotel website includes $25/day resort fee in their quote).
