  1. Amazing deal. I got it for $82.....and that (at the time) was the best deal I could get to the dollar. Enjoy your trip...NO is awesome.
  2. Info on Airport Transportation Well...I have to agree with the other gentleman who commented on the airport shuttle. It is a complete waste of time and it doesn't really save that much money. I did take the "Airport Shuttle" to the Sheraton for $20 pre-paid. The trip takes a solid hour because you make so many stops. I think it's a good service, but it's WAY over priced. A cab has a flat-rate of $33 to any hotel downtown or FQ. I don't know about you guys.....but to me an extra $13 is well worth saving 30-35 minutes and a private ride. The Sheraton is nice, but the room I was given was run-down.....I am sure I got the "priceline room." And......tiny pool with no hot tub. I would def not consider this hotel a 4-star. A traveler's tip: the locals go to "Frenchman Street" and a KICKIN local bar is called Club Negril.....it was amazing local bands and bottles of local beer are $5. This place was the highlight of our trip. Cheers!!!
  3. Hello: I am staying at the Sheraton Downtown (won through Priceline) this weekend. From what I can see, the ONLY transportation option besides a Taxi is the "Airport Shuttle." Is this what everyone else is doing? Is there a better option?? My hesitation is that it says the trip takes 1 hour (!!!!!), even though Google maps says the trip takes only 23 minutes..... PLEASE.....I've never been to N.O. before.....give me the inside track. Should I do this for $38 round trip?? THANKS THANKS THANKS> Any other tips about the Sheraton????? THANKS.
  4. I have been bidding for 2 weeks for a French Quarter or Downtown N.O. hotel. I finally got a good deal. I bid up to $101 for a 4* French Quarter and all bids were denied. For a downtown, I started bidding at $55 and finally accepted at $83. So, I know I got the best deal down to the dollar. Sheraton New Orleans Hotel 500 Canal Street New Orleans, LA 70130 504-525-2500 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $83.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $249.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $47.79 (USD) Total Room Cost: $296.79 (USD) Thank you for the great website. LOVE IT. I used the links.
  5. 3* Residence Inn Northwest-Medical Center (4041 Bluemel) Bid $60 and got it. Not a great deal, but its a good deal. 4 Night May 27-31
  6. Si -- Dang! That is getting expensive for Treasure Island. I think I'd give up on that. I noticed an important thing for you in the pool. Monte Carlo pool is currently being completely renovated and will be closed through March. So, that might be a property to check out -- will have a nice new pool setup. I wanted a nice pool also. Check out their website, they have a lazy river and several different pools. And....I tried that 10% coupon that the other person mentioned, it didn't work. But the 5% did work. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try the 10%. GOOD LUCK. And, by the way, I used the Orbitz link from this website. thanks.
  7. Its funny you posted this, I was just about to post something similar. I have been trying, for 2 weeks to get a North-Strip May 2-4 PRICELINE deal for 2 rooms. I have been bidding only a 4 star rooms. I did not want the 5 star Trump, because to my knowledge there is a casino at this hotel!!! Who would want to go to Vegas and not have a casino in their room??? Not me!!! I have seen many people are getting $41-47/night at Treasure Island. So, I started bidding at $40 and bid all the way up to $50. With PRICELINE's fees, that is a total bid of around $230 (2 rooms -- 2 nights). All bids were rejected. And, if you add the Treasure Island charged $20/per night/per room fee I was looking to spend approx $310 total for the 2 rooms. And I am sure I'd get a low floor with no view. I don't think this is a super good deal for a so-so hotel. What I did instead is I booked Monte Carlo (AAA: 4 stars) on Orbitz for a total of $370 including taxes ...and this is an upgraded room with a Strip View. Orbitz has a 5% coupon if you use "Review5" as a promotional code. They do have a $13 per night/per room resort fee. I would have used PRICELINE to try to get a Monte Carlo, but didn't want to take the chance of getting a lesser property!!! So, in this case I choose not to do PRICELINE.....Treasure Island was just too greedy.
  8. The total, including tax, on the Sheraton website is $180. So this looks like a great deal. It looks very close to the Port of Tampa, I'm taking a cruise the following day. 3.5 * Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel 200 N. Ashley Drive Tampa, FL 33602 One night 3/7 to 3/8. ] First bid accepted $51.00 Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $51.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $51.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $13.83 (USD) Total Room Cost: $64.83 (USD)
  9. I've been bidding for May 2-4 (2 nights) for the Las Vegas Strip (North Only) for $40-44 and all has been rejected so far. The funny thing is the previous week someone has a win for $41 (Treasure Island) for weekday nights also. I wonder why my bids are being rejected, when my dates are FURTHER out??? The other thing is...The Mirage is also listed in the star level, but I've NEVER seen it happen on the calendar of wins. When was the last time this happened? And....are there any other hotels......at the 4 star level. Anyone have any idea??? Thanks.
  10. I was wondering that exact same thing. If anyone has an update, please let us know. 4 star is Treasure Island, looks like 99% of this time. But no idea when 3.4* is.
  11. Brief Review: If you are just looking for a place to crash for no more than one night, this isn't a bad place, especially at $27. But, I would not stay for over one night. The bed and pillows aren't anything special. And, the walls are paper-thin, you hear everything. I can't believe someone would stay here for weeks at a time, which was what the front desk told me happens. I guess I wouldn't really expect a pool at this star level, and there wasn't one. There was not even shampoo in the bathroom. The funniest thing that happened was there was SOMEONE IN THE ROOM THAT I WAS ASSIGNED. (I opened the door and tehre was someone else there). And when I returned to the front desk to report the error, the girl at the front desk I was asked "Are you sure??" What an idiot! ha ha ha ha ha. But, as I said, no complaints for paying $37 total. Good deal. :)
  12. Feb 12-13 (1 night). Extended Stay America St. Petersburg - Clearwater $27 accepted -- $37.xx after fees. 2-Star 3089 Executive Drive Clearwater, FL 33762 Category: "Clearwater - St. Petersburg North" Bidding History: Tried over 3 nights to bid at multiple zones and star levels. Its not a great place, but I got a good deal. $27 was accepted for this place -- a 2*. $27-33 was REJECTED FOR A 2.5* $35 REJECTED FOR 3*. :)
  13. what about bidding on a 4 star for the north strip -- deals look pretty good. ive seen as low as $41 for TI. not a bad place.
  14. I would only bid on "north strip" but thats me. that is where the action is on the strip. the south hotels aren't bad at all, but its a taxi ride to the action. The Luxor is awesome, but that's south strip
  15. This has to be the worst deal I have ever gotten -- and its all my fault!! Priceline told me the average 3.5* star rate was $298 so I bid $81. I did not take the time to actually look at the rates. $81 was accepted for 2 rooms. On the regular priceline site, you can have this room for $84, and the taxes/fees are LESS, so I actually paid MORE than I should have. My mistake.....stupid!!! ============== Doubletree Hotel Palm Beach Gardens 3
  16. This Hilton is NOT a resort, even though it is classified as such. It is no where near the quality of the other resorts (ie Omni). I always hope and pray I don't get it also.
  17. You got an awesome deal, because my bids for this same location/3 stars of $77 have been rejected....
  18. I really haven't ever seen a winning bid on here for Key West? Have there been any? Does anyone have any tips about lodging / entertainment for Key West....I want to go over July 4 weekend. THANKS.
  19. This is a very nice hotel. You won't be disappointed. $170 does seem high -- I think I paid $110 back in March. But at any rate, a great hotel.
  20. Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort and Convention Center Listed as 2 1/2 star. Never stayed at a 2 1/2 star before. 6375 W Irlo Bronson Mem Hwy Kissimmee, FL 34747 US Windding Bid : $27 for one night. Total Fee is $37.63. This hotel is listed as a Disney World Area Hotel, but doesn't look all that close. It is NOT in the WDW downtown area. Too bad for me. Has anyone stayed here? Any tips? What is the Disney transportation situation?? Bids Turned Down: 3.5* $35 3* $35. Both Declined.
  21. MINI REVIEW Had a good time. Royal Plaza was alright. Good location -- much better than the resorts that participate with priceline -- Omni Resort, Marriott Grande Lakes, (I've stayed at them all). It is a 0.5 mile walk to downtown disney. And yes, I do recommend walking...the wait for a bus is 20-30 min...not worth it. Be sure to ask for a "room with a view." They upgarded me to a tower room whick according to the website is an $18 upgrade. You can also ask for late check out -- we got an extra hour to 12:00 noon. It is worth the $70/night or so I paid, and I'd stay here again for this fee....but I wouldn't pay much more. Any other questions, just ask me!!
  22. It never hurts to show your card. I recently stayed at a Marriott Resort in Orlando and showed my Platinum Elite Card and was upgraded to their top level suite -- $499/night value. I did NOT get the points, but the suite upgrade was pretty sweet! cant beat it.
