  1. Yes, sorry I forgot to post that information. The Holiday Inn had: Fitness and Pool. Thanks!
  2. I believe that this will be the first listing for Valencia. The Expedia rate for these dates was $148/night. So, again it was a good deal, however, I'll reserve my judgment about the hotel itself until we get there. Some of the reviews are not that great.
  3. The total booking saved me over $300 from the cheapest Expedia rates I could find. Amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Internet Access Trip Advisor: 4 out of 5 I used the Ho.twire link to make my reservation. This is my second time using betterbidding.com and I'm just as happy this time as I was the first time. Thanks!
  4. We still have our wives... :) We had a great time on our trip and I wanted to say thanks for help! TI was worth the price we paid, in my opinion.
  5. I know that Josh already knows this, but I sort of had success with this. At check-in, I did have $20 in my hand when I struck up conversation with the man who was assisting me. Without handing him the money I inquired about any upgrades and he did say that he had a room that normally ran for $40/night more. It was a corner room on the 35th floor (35-036) that had two sets of windows so that I got a full view of the south strip and also out towards the Rio and Palms. He also offered a room on the 25th floor that would have looked at the strip north. We opted for the 35th floor even though it is a smoking floor after he assured us that they are "not that bad." In reality he was right, after spending a few hours in the casino I became so accustomed to smoke that when we got back to the room I couldn't even notice it anymore. We were also given a free bottle of champagne... and it was surprisingly good for a screw top. That was a first for me! After we had talked about all of this and I received my room keys, I thanked him and gave him the tip. So, that's where the "sort of" in my first sentence came from. I did not sandwich the bill and try to make it sly... after receiving good, efficient and friendly service, I tipped him.
  6. Well, they are our wives now... hopefully we behave enough to keep it that way during the trip. Wait... hopefully THEY behave enough too!
  7. My friend and I (we'll call him Josh) decided to head to Vegas with our wives... after much mulling we ended up booking via Priceline. We had noted that we could get one room on the central strip via Hotwire for what appeared to be TI for $89/night (Casino, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Golf, Spa). However, when attempting to get two rooms, then it appeared the best we could do was $109/night and this was probably not TI but another 4* on the central strip (Casino, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business center, Hi-speed Internet, Spa) for $109/night. We decided to do Priceline instead and I submitted a bid for $60/night for a 4* North Strip. This was countered with $81/night for a 4* North Strip. While I paused, Josh tried to bid $70/night for a 4* North Strip and received a counter of over a hundred dollars a night for 4* North Strip. We're not sure why he got a different counter than I did (perhaps because it was holding my offer or because he did not start off through betterbidding.com or just bad karma). So, I ended up accepting the counter offer and received TI for $81/night for two rooms and three nights. Here's hoping for warm weather and a pool that opens up from winter maintenance on time. Thanks for the help in our planning!
