  1. My travel companion ended up getting a coupon in the mail from Dollar. The coupon code is 2COE2 and enabled him to get a minivan in DEN for $48/day. I'll continue to support betterbidding when possible. Thank you for your help.
  2. Denver bids for 4* @$51 not accepted; dropped to 3.5*@$49 and got Marriott tech center north
  3. Linked to PRICELINE through BetterBidding. Got Advantage economy car 8.83/day +tax&fees
  4. I'm currently bidding on a minivan for Denver in March. Could you tell me if you're bid was accepted and at what price? Did you find better rates at other rental locations around town? I've started at $42/day from the airport locations. thanks
  5. Sorry, This was a Hotel located in Zone 18 Willow Brook (Houston) using Priceline Nov 26th
  6. 3* Staybridge Suites $45 Houston Willowbrook Amenities: Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry Thanks for your hard work in providing such a wonderful resource! Going thru your site after a short research period becomes quicker and easier with every deal. :)
  7. Just to close the loop. I ended up ramping up through Betterbidding to Priceline and placed a retail flight purchase of $195 along with an additional $42 of fees x 4. Total of $237 ea. This is around $10 more ea than what I saw yesterday. One comment I have. While doing the multi airline search I located an acceptable $172 offer in Travelocity. While going through the acceptance process, I was surprised with a message screen that said the price has now changed. The price that was offered was double the above amount. Looked like a bait and switch, but I guess this is within their rights to change at anytime till accepted. oh well! Thank you for your quick response to my post. Your comments to me and others have developed my traveling skills and I appreciate you. Viva Las Vegas!
  8. I started using the Betterbidding ramp to Priceline and have bid in successive $2 increments to a current $166 base before taxes. I Have not been very successful. (But nevertheless having fun using your virtually unlimited bidding stategies without having to wait 24 hrs between bids. Thanks for that!) The retail low value of my trip is in the neighborhood of a $185 base for some of the low quality flight times. (Which are all right for me and this trip) The tax/fees are running around $40-42 avg. So far, I am not seeing much incentive to continue bidding for these unknown departure times since my margin between an unknown bid and a retail bid has now shrunk to about $19/ea ticket. I have realized through your site that the savings spread has typically not been that great, but I am looking at 4 tickets which I hoped to be a good multiplied value. Since my initial leaving location is Mid point between Austin TX and San Antonio I can easily leave from either location. (I Have bid them both to the value mentioned above) Do you have any suggestions? I am currently 22 days out on this trip and have time if waiting is a viable strategy. As usual, your comments are welcome and very much appreciated.
  9. Used Betterbidding PRICELINE link to bid; first bid of $50 rejected but $55 accepted.
  10. I stayed at the Treasure Isle over Valentines night. At checkin I had a $10 dollar bill neatly folded with my wallet out and over the counter. He could see the money but blocked from others view. I stated that I would gratuitously appreciate any complimentry upgrades that he could locate. My wife then politely asked if they had any rooms facing the outdoor pirate show. With little hesitation he said he had an upgraded presidential room on the 36 floor that also included a strip view. I then merrily pulled another $10 out and folded them together. He then stated that he was also going to include a complementry bottle of Champaign from room service and delivered at our requested time. I then slid the money off the shelf and onto his lower counter as descrete as possible. The room and Champain were very nice and worth the effort. The next day was my check in for the Venetian. I folded a twenty between my liscence and Amex card as mentioned before. The 10 person checkin staff had three additional persons in back of the staff like crew bosses, but I thought "What the heck". Within seconds of handing the cards, the twenty dissapeared seemingly into a blackhole as if she was Chris Angel. I asked if there were any nice rooms available since I was somewhat ill prepared to ask by specific Tower name. She new exactly what I wanted. The results were that I was then provided a room on the 32nd floor facing the Bellagio fountains in the distance. (85% fountain view) My Hotel view was above the rooftops in the South and my guess is that it was about as good as it gets because of the site specific setback and hotel Layout. We were very satisfied. Money well spent. I would also suggest that anyone going to the Phantom of the Opera attempt to $10 or twenty up once inside. We were dressed nice and got comped front and middle without even asking. The Seating lady just asked us if we would like an upgraded seat in back of the orchestra. Our big smile answered that question. Good luck and please let us know if anyone has any luck using the twenty up trick at a show or restraunt.
  11. Just shored up 4* Las Vegas (North Strip) Treasure Isl $191 Feb 14th one night Using your site and linking through Priceline. I will also post under Pricline topics as I think is the protecal. I ramped up 2 bids starting from $159 N 5*, $179 N+South 5*, closed and opened the brouser and then added the 4* to the N search along with an increase to $191. This would theoretically increase my 5 star bids in the North and potentially add only the desireable Treasure Island. (which I though was sold out) I ultimately feel lucky since rates escalated daily till todays arrival date. I even saw a Pricline buy it now for the above mentioned Stratusphere for over $300. (Yesterday Hotwire had it pinned at $150) Thanks again for all you do. I will brag to my friends on your state of the art website.
  12. The statisphere certainly may end up being an option this late in the game. After all, I will only have the room 16 hrs before going to my successful Venetian Win...I believe I will check again in the morning snd see what may of openened up. Next I will check an offer attached to my first win which is a 5 Star at $191. (Like an add days offer) Then I will consider your suggestion of the Stratisphere. I will ultimately close the post when I make that final move. Meanwhile, if you or anyone else stumbles across a deal I will greatly appreciate any advice. I have to admit that I travel over 1/2 million miles every other year, and since locating your site through flyertalk, I have found this to be the most fun trip I have ever put together. Thanks for this.
  13. Thank you for the prompt response. I appreciate your expert advice and comment. We will arrive LV by Air at 1800 HRs on Saturday. My initial strategy was to wait and see if some last minute 5* rooms would become available. I am still hoping, but not sure if this ever really happens in the last 24 hrs. 5 Star is still my first choice. I desire a Hotel w/ Casino (or in proximity) with as high a star rating as possible up to a budget amount of say $179. Does not have to be on the strip, But don't want to be 15 miles away. I would consider paying more for a package with a show/casino credit/dining/? + room for two, but have not located anything. Most all of the direct channels to the hotels appear to be at least double the above mentioned amount if at all available. Many appear to require more than a single night stay. Any thoughts?
  14. Thanks to the forum I was able to book thru the betterbidding site and Hotwire to acquire a room for my stay at the Venetian. ($119/Night) Feb 15th and forward See earlier Hotwire Hotel Purchase thread. I am now fortunate to be able to travel a day earlier. I have attempted to locate a 5 star on HOTWIRE and PRICELINE bidding as much as $179 for this one holiday night without success. I am not willing to go above this amount for a 5 star and even lowered my star rating to 4 to attempt to snag Treasure Island. (No luck) I am not afraid of waiting till tomorrow (the date of LV arrival) if this could be a successful stategy. I would be willing to drop to a 4 star and raise my expected price if this is what I should do. Any ideas would be welcome.
  15. Thanks for your exemplory customer service. This has been really fun as well as profitable. I first saw the ammenities list minus the spa, which appeared a little bit tricky. But after reading your previous post concerning the hidden Spa amenity I was able to confidently execute a buy. Thanks for being so friendly to everyone I certainly appreciate what you do. Win Listed as: Venetian $119 Feb 15-16 Casino Fitness Pool Restraunt Biz center High Speed Internet Golf Near Tennis Near Then, due to space I guess, you cannot see the Spa initially, till you continue forward. Thanks again, Double Draw Ps I would love to learn a little more about how to use the calender feature. I am a little confused on what to do. Just comes up blank for me. I think I might not be using the correct search feature. Any help is appreciated. :)
