I'm finding that I'm using Hotwire more than Priceline now, especially since PL changed the star levels of many properties.

The main reason I'm liking Hotwire, is that I usually know what I'm going to get, based on the amenities. This is the nicest thing about Hotwire, you can almost be guaranteed of a hotel with a well known set of amenities. Even if it is 5 or 10 dollars a night more, with the right coupons or codes it can even turn out cheaper than Priceline, and you don't get stuck with something you don't really want.

What are your thoughts Hotwire vs. Priceline?

got it on the first bid - I remember the days of $32, but for 3 bucks extra, I'm not complaining.

I've stayed at this hotel - it's nice and comfortable - and wireless internet access available.

The 4* JW Marriott in Houston Galleria $43 was a great deal for its day.

Based on info I put together from the other board and here, I've concluded that there's an active member here that's lived in priceline hotels for nearly 3 and a half years straight. I'm in total awe. Sounds like a fun lifestyle, definitely more fun than renting the same apartment year after year.

Of all the hotels chains which ones have you been able to collect the most reward points on (I know, I know, a lot of them don't give them any more to PL customers). I assume you must have collected a massive number of points on the credit cards you use to pay for the rooms too.

What are the downsides to it? Is there any time when you want to "throw in the towel", so to speak? Do you ever have to resort to booking outside of Priceline (e.g. HOTWIRE, ECT, etc).

In any case, congratulations - it'll be 4 years before you know it.

Would you consider adding Easyclicktravel forums similar to the Hotwire forums we have now? With the off-the-record hotels listed, it would be nice to share information on which hotels they turn out to be.
