  1. Started bid at $50 and kept adding areas and increasing bids by $2. Didn't get accepted for $65, so added last area and bumped it up to $70 and won. I really like this property so I'm very happy with this win :) Offer Price: $70.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.66 Total: $86.66 Used PRICELINE link from this site.
  2. Offer price: $110.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $25.12 Total: $135.12 First bid $100. Got offer of $121. Declined, added Culver City and bid $110 and won. Used the PRICELINE link from this site to start my bid.
  3. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $58.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $348.00 Taxes and Fees: $57.36 Total Room Cost: $405.36 Been bidding on this for several months now. Started at $50, then $54, $56, accepted at $58. My max was $65, so very happy with this win! Used the PRICELINE link from this site to start my bid.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I've been bidding up to $65 with no hits. My last attempt was on Tuesday. Just as you stated, I too am very surprised I haven't been accepted considering the prices on Hotwire right now, which I've also been eying.
  5. I did start my own own topic on my bid. I wasn't asking anyone for advice in my reply, but simply offering a statement of my experience which I felt was relevant to the topic of the OP. I know the rules and was not making an attempt to deflect from the OP.
  6. I'm also trying for late Sept and have bid up to $65 with no luck. My dates are 9/29 - 10/2. Like you, we've gone this time of year for the last few years and get 45 - 55/night. I guess business really has picked up :(
  7. Need 2 rooms, 9/29 - 10/2 for DL South area, 3.5 and up, and not wanting to spend more than $65/night. I've been bidding up to my max for 2 months with no luck. It's odd because there is nothing going on at the convention center, or anything major at the hotels, no holiday, school is in, and it's still this high. We've been going this time of year for years, and looking at the wins for this time frame last year one would expect $50 to $60 to be a winner, but nada. I've tried splitting my rooms and only bidding for one at a time, but nothing. I know another strategy is to split your stay, but I don't want to risk having to move hotels. Anyone know why the prices might be so high for this weekend? Any other bidding advice without splitting up my stay?
  8. It was a very nice property, thanks. I always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links from this site...do I need to state that in my win post so you know that I did, or do you just say that on every win for the benefit of others using this site?
  9. Been bidding for this since last week and didn't want to go over $100, but it is Monterey in the middle of summer. I'm happy with this win, but not happy about the mandatory $22 resort fee :( I know most of these places have these (we stay at hotels near Disneyland a lot), but I didn't expect $22. Just a reminder to everyone (including myself) to think about resort fees being added to your price.

  11. Wanted a 4* in Downtown, had bid from $80 up to $105 using rebid zones with no luck. Added 3.5 stars and wanted to rebid again for 4* Downtown, but didn't know that the Crowne Plaza was a 3.5* in the Arden Area. Was looking at the current hotel lists for that area and it wasn't listed so I went to $108 still hoping to get a 4* in Downtown, but got this one instead. Not my ideal location or price for the area. Disappointed with this win. Offer Price: $108.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $108.00 Taxes & Fees: $23.20 Total: $131.20 Used the PRICELINE link from this site.
  12. Yes, we go often to Disneyland so I'm aware of this extra charge that all of the "resorts" in this area charge. It's a good reminder though to those that have never stayed at any of these hotels. The fee varies by hotel, usually between $12 - $16 per day, whether you park there or not since it's a "resort" fee, not a parking fee.
