  1. certainly - as a member with five dozen posts and quite a number of reported wins on this forum rest assured that I exclusively use your links. :-)
  2. On Hotwire (after using the forum's link of course) I am seeing this hotel for Oct 26-30: Location: Cambridge Star rating: 3-star Rate per night: $127 Amenities: Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Accessible for the blind Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower 85% Recommended, ratings 4/4/4/4/4/3.5 Tripadvisor: 4/5 Question #1: I believe this is the Best Western Plus Tria. Could I be correct? Question #2: Is this a good price for Boston for that time of the year, or should I try booking later? Thanks!
  3. the forum's HOTWIRE link led me to a 4.5* hotel with the following amenities: Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services In-room accessibility No surprises - it's the Huntington. $209.53 including taxes.
  4. Used the forum's link as usual to get to PRICELINE and then maxed out my rebid zones to bid $50, 55, 60, 65 on a 3* in Bellevue (actually, I only bid $43, 58, 53, 58, thanks to today's $7 promo). Got the Coast Bellevue as expected, rate on the hotel's home page would have been $98++.
  5. Started with $73 on Priceline, got a rebid offer at $91. Due to the abundance of rebid zones I worked my way up in $2 steps and finally got the Aria at $81 (total $99.07). If I interpret the data correctly, the same hotel was also available as a Priceline express deal for $87 (total $106.12), and on Hotwire for a total of $111. I am quite happy with the deal, as the hotel itself would want $179 plus taxes for a room, and I only found one other site which was cheaper (~$127). Used the PRICELINE search box to start my search, as usual. "Guaranteed amenities" were Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Casino, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center, Guest Score 8/10 or Higher (and the casino is the clue why it is the Aria and not the Vdara).
  6. I am looking at the same hotel, and I believe it could be the Blackstone Hotel Las Vegas ($7.99 resort fee according to their website).
  7. Finally found out what the 3* Brent Cross/Cricklewood hotel is that keeps on showing up since quite some time. Total price for three nights including taxes and fees was ~GBP 390. Official room rate at the hotel would have been GBP 99/night plus taxes. Very good deal, especially since the stay is during the Olympic Games. Please add the hotel to the list. Amenities shown were Restaurant(s), Business Center.
  8. Since I saw this entry on HOTWIRE I first went to PRICELINE and bid my way up to 122$, but without success, so I returned to Hotwire and booked this hotel, aiming at the Westin or Hyatt, of course (was using the forum's link as usual). Instead I got the "Bellevue Hotel". Tripadvisor ratings look very good, retail price is ~$185. Amenities listed were: Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access New entry in the list, and I think it would fit a little bit better in the Eastgate zone. But at least it's not too far off and the airport bus stops there. Will let you know how the hotel was after my stay.
  9. the "QuickQuote" boxes for Hotwire and Priceline on the bottom of the page do not seem to work. They did work on the top of this page , however.
  10. you might also want to consider trying HOTWIRE - they added Dubai now.
  11. just logged into hyatt.com and retrieved the reservation, which states: Non-smoking room Hyatt will guarantee your request for a Non-Smoking room(s). nice :-)
  12. I've been bidding for a NYC hotel for the above dates for weeks (always using the forum's PRICELINE search box on the top right), but no avail. Had a backup reservation for $150 + taxes, so ~500$ total was my limit. I was focussing on Downtown/Soho, since another poster got the Millenium Hilton for $150, but only from 10/02-10/04. Anyway, this morning I saw a 4* MTE hotel for $196 on HOTWIRE, so I thought I should include the MTE zone. I had bonus cash, so I started with bidding $134 + $6.67 bonus cash on the MTE and Downtown/Soho zones ($496.20 including fees and taxes). Shockingly, I immediately got a hit. Should have tried lower ;-) OTOH, the cheapest room on the Hyatt website costs over $1108, so I am happy ;-) Just saw that the Hyatt offers a room with AAA discount, but smoking only. What are the odds that I get a non-smoking room?
  13. Saw a property on HOTWIRE that could be the Sheraton Airport & Conference Centre for US-$66 plus fees/taxes, so used the forum's search box to go to PRICELINE and started bidding at US-$55. Got a rebid offer of US-$66, but since there are plenty of rebid zones I tried US-$56 and then US-$57, which was successful. Total amount was US-$72.20 (the hotwire amount BTW would have been $81.27). Price on the Sheraton website is ~US-$127. Note that I did get the Hotel & Conference Centre venue, not the Gateway (as some previous posters seem to have gotten via Priceline).
  14. thank you, that seems to work. Of course, on my machine I always get the USD site anyway. BTW, the exchange rate is horrible. Even with credit card fees the USD fares are much better.
  15. where can I set this? On my computer I always get the $ prices, but his machine showed me the
  16. actually, he is in another - nicer - hotel for less money ;-)
  17. Booked another hotel for a friend of mine, already envious that I got him a better priceline deal than i did for myself . Went to HOTWIRE and saw this property with the following amenities listed: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-Speed Internet Access From the amenities I guessed it would be the Westin, but it turned out to be the W. Darn - once again a very nice hotel for him! ;-) My system showed the price in Euros; given the current exchange rate the room costs ~$104 per night. Including taxes and fees I paid ~$243 for two nights. Used the forum's HOTWIRE search box to start my purchase.
  18. A friend of mine is in Miami at the same time I'll be there in October. I got this hotel on Priceline a few weeks back. I saw on HOTWIRE that something that might be the Mayfair Hotel And Spa would cost $100 per night, so I bid my way up to $80, without success, but succeeded with $85. Total including fees and taxes is $202.06. The price per night on the hotel's website is $475 - what?! ;-) Use the forum's PRICELINE search box to start bidding.
  19. oh, forgot to mention, of course I used the forum's search box, as usual :-)
  20. saw something that should be the Ramada Inn on HOTWIRE for $53, so I first tried $41 and then $44 on PRICELINE and got the Ramada. Total price for me including taxes and fees was $96, but I used $12 in reward dollars, so the "real" price should be something around $108. On the hotel web site rooms start at $162 incl. taxes.
  21. retail rate at the hotel: $135 plus taxes ;( Weird, the hotel is usually much more expensive.
  22. saw on HOTWIRE a hotel that most certanily looked like the Westin Colonnade for $110, so I thought I'd get it a bit cheaper at PRICELINE (using the board's link, as usual). Thanks to the six rebid zones I bid my way up from $60 to $100 and got ... the Hyatt! It has higher Tripadvisor ratings than the Westin, but the savings are "only" a bit more than 50% (advance rate at the Hyatt for my dates: $215 - at the Westin: $269). :-) Total price including fees and taxes: $121.62
  23. As usual, used the board's PRICELINE search box and started with bidding $60, expecting the Sirata. I did not expect, however, to get it with my first bid. On HOTWIRE, a hotel that quite probably *is* the Sirata costs $74 for these dates, so I thought $60 would be a reasonable start to bid, since there are two rebid zones. Anyway, the stay totals to $143.52, about the same amount I would have paid at the hotel directly for just one night. Thumbs up :-)
