  1. The forum's HOTWIRE link got me the Novotel (I could narrow it down, since they offered the "it's 1 out of these 3" plus the Tripadvisor ratings). Decent deal, indeed cheaper than the best online price. Complimentary: Free internet Amenities: Business center | Fitness center | Pet friendly | Restaurant(s) | Smoke-free rooms Accessibility: Accessible for hearing impaired | Accessible path of travel Total price including taxes was $78.65 (minus the JUSTFORYOU Hotwire Coupon)
  2. Clicked the forum's HOTWIRE link and then got the Moevenpick for ~30% less than booking direct. The hotel is what I guessed I would get, so no complaints here. Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Children's activities
  3. Used the forum's link to get this PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Amenities listed prior to purchase: Pets Allowed Business Center Airport Shuttle Free Internet Free Breakfast Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Regular price is $136 + taxes, so I am pretty happy with this deal. FWIW, hotel with very similar amenities and price shows up on HOTWIRE, as well. I am very well aware that this might be a completely different hotel, but since everything matches, including the amenities the hotel provides, and the Tripadvisor rating, and the number of ratings, it might be more than a conincidence. So just in case someone is looking for this later, here the data from Hotwire: MIA International Airport area Free breakfast Free Internet Airport shuttle Condo Fitness center Pet friendly Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms $89 + taxes I eventually booked with PRICELINE since the end amount was a bit lower there.
  4. Got this hotel. It's not really close to the Verona arena and the Romeo & Juliet balcony, but there is a bus stop in front of the hotel, so it's located good enough. I was once again hit by the usual Hotwire problem in Italy - you get the same price at other websites, too. But well. Hotel Amenities: Free Internet, Pet Friendly, Restaurant(s), Internet access, Accessible path of travel, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower 75% Satisfaction JFTR: used the forum's HOTWIRE link for booking.
  5. is there an easy way to find out those amenities? I did write them down prior to booking, but can't find my notes.
  6. Just saw that I forgot to report this win. Used the forum's link to go to PRICELINE and then bought this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer (the "9+" rating stood out). Very nice hotel, and about 40% cheaper than the Internet rate. Unfortunately they only had one room left on PL, so I had to buy the second room at the regular rate. Total amount w/ taxes and fees was approximately $260.
  7. since I did book a backup hotel this thread can be closed.
  8. Amenities identical to the previous report of this hotel on the forum: Pet friendly Indoor pool(s) Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Golf Nearby Spa Services Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower Price including taxes ~$200. Used the forum's HOTWIRE link. About 50% less than the cheapest internet price.
  9. same here - once I click on the search result, I do not get the details page any more :-( Went ahead and booked a (refundable) hotel just to be safe.
  10. I did book outside Priceline/Hotwire (IIRC)
  11. the Boston thread was already closed since I mentioned last year that I was too late to book the offer. I just did also close the London thread (where I also mentioned last year that I did not find the offer again).
  12. Any idea what this hotel might be? It could be the Aloft [especially because of the 3.5/5 location rating], but I did not find this particularly boutique if you ask me ;-) Checkin: 11/27/2014 Checkout: 11/29/2014 Price per night: $84 Amenities: Free Internet, Boutique Hotel, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center Tripadvisor: 4.5/5 Found on US site, using the forum's link.
  13. used the forum's PRICELINE link and bid $85, 90, 95, 100, and finally 105. Was actually hoping for the Hilton Olympia, but well. Price is ~$134 including taxes, cheapest online price I could find was $160. Probably the second-worst deal I ever made with opaque bidding, but of course still a bit of a bargain.
  14. used the forum's PRICELINE link and tried (over three days) $50, $55, $60; the last bid was accepted. The same hotel (most probably) would cost $72 using PRICELINE EXPRESS, and about $170 on "regular" sites.
  15. The forum's link led me to a $60 bid and I immediately got the Red Lion, $76.81 in total. (Most probably) the same hotel was available for $68 on PRICELINE EXPRESS and for $88 on HOTWIRE, so I thought $60 was a good starting bid, but others might want to start even lower. Online rates for the same hotel start at ~$136 including taxes. Guaranteed amenities mentioned: business center.
  16. First bid was $80 (because the same hotel - quite easy to identify - was on sale for $86 at PRICELINE EXPRESS), was immediately accepted. Guaranteed "feature" was a rating of 7.0 of higher (probably because the Silver Cloud Stadium is in the set, but more expensive for night I am staying). Total price was $100.17. Best online rate is ~$150 incl. taxes. Used the forum's PRICELINE link.
  17. don't find it today, either :-( Will try again during the week. Thanks!
  18. I hope you saw that I did mention using the forum's link, and that almost all my previous posts were reported wins which used the forum's links and/or search boxes? ;-)
  19. I found the following hotel via the forum's HOTWIRE link for Dec 6-8 this year in the London Docklands - Canary Wharf - Excel Center area: $119/nite (instead of $190) Amenities Indoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Internet access Accessibility Accessible bathroom Any idea what that could be? It almost matches the Canary Wharf Hilton, but only almost.
  20. thanks. Was too late to book this, unfortunately.
  21. started at $65 and bid my way up in $5 increments to $85, which was accepted. Price with taxes at Priceline is about the price without taxes at the hotel website, so saving are not stellar. However since I wanted that specific hotel anyway I can't complain. Used the forum's link.
  22. thanks! Is the price reasonable for that time of the year, or would it be advisable to book closed to the stay?
