  1. I'm sure glad I booked when I did. I got the same hotel for $209 and am very pleased.
  2. Used the HOTWIRE link to support BB! 4.5* Hyatt "Customer Favorite" Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center Laundry Facilities Hi-speed internet access. Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program
  3. Kaanapali Region, is this the Hyatt? What is the chance it would be any other hotel? 9/1-9/7 4.5* $205 nite Hotel Amenities Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program
  4. 4.5* $205 nite Hotel Amenities Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program
  5. The Sheraton does NOT come up on Hotwire as an option for Maui, nor is there any availability on their website for anything other than $500-600 suites. I was looking at the properties using GoogleEarth (FlashEarth) and it seems they share the same stretch of beach, yet many people say the Hyatt's beach is inferior. Can't I just walk a ways down the beach to Black Rock and a better beach? Seems as if it is only a few minute stroll.
  6. Yes. Priceline gave a median price of $217 for a boutique hotel, so I figured I'd use the strategy of 1. $99 Union Sq East 2. $109 Add Union Sq West Wait ...Repeat First bid was accepted and reviews on tripadvisor are good for this Hotel. I'll report back after I see my Yankees beat the Giants and maybe catch Bonds break the HR record!
  7. So it looks like the Sheraton is booked. It's not coming up on Hotwire and is not offering anything but $600+ rooms on their site. The good thing is, the Hyatt has dropped to $205 (4.5*) There is a 4* w/o Laundry that I would say is the Westin @ $358. Is there something I'm missing here, 4.5* at $205 seems too good to be true...Caveat Emptor? Anyone?
  8. OK, so the Sheraton is available to isolate on HOTWIRE! Excellent. Any tips on WHEN to try for best deal? 1 month prior, 2? 3?
  9. After looking at all the properties and forums for Maui, I've decided the Sheraton is the best fit for me. Since it's been deleted from the Hotwire list, is there any bidding tips or alternative sites to get the best deal on THAT hotel only. Although nice hotels, I think the Westin and Hyatt are not as good a match. Any thoughts?
  10. OK, so it looks like the 4.5* is the Hyatt? Is the Hyatt really $100 better a night? I would think not?
  11. Looking for a nice hotel in Maui 8/30-9/4 Just checked Hotwire and it looks like the 4* Sheraton is at $249/nt while there is a customer favorite 4.5* for $358/ Now the ???... Which hotel is the 4.5*? Is it worth the extra $110? When is the best time to look for deals in Maui (Lead times, like how soon in advance?) IS the Sheraton listed the one on Black Rock? Thanks for all the help.
  12. After that 146 offer you may have been able to succeed at the 119-125 range.
  13. FWIW- My counter offer was $155 for the Venetian, Winning bid $139 for a difference of $16
  14. So how did I do??? (this Pricline bidding is addictive) This is for 7/18,19,20 5* Strip, Bid 109, denied, they offered a "great" deal at 155 so I figured I'd have to get semi-close to that to get the Venetian. Added Airport, bid 119, denied, offered many hotels at varied prices, 5* at 189, NO WAY! Added Convention ctr, bid 125, Denied Added Fremont/Dtwn, bid 129, Denied Added West Strip, bid 139, Accepted!!!! So it's a little more than what I budgeted ($72 over), but hey, I'm doing the cliche thing and asking my GF to marry me on the gondola so what the heck! Great Hotel and expecting a great time and I got it for $95 off the online rate.
  15. dates are now firm! 7/18, 7/19, 7/20 Looking for BEST hotel for the least money (duh) Not really wanting to split the stay. Willing to go as high as $300-400 Obviously less for a property like the Tropicana, but $400 for the Venetian. Strip is preferred but an off strip like Palms or Hard Rock is cool too. I guess my main strategy is to get the Venetian for $400 or less. There is the will, is there a way?
  16. I'm considering bumping it up a week to 7/18,19,20. Not real concerned with getting the lowest price within the $50-70 range as much as zeroing in on a specific hotel i/e Alladin or better. EDIT-BEWARE Just read about the heavy construction at the Alladin! Remodeling until 12/06 when it will re-open as Planet Hollywood hotel? So I guess it's back to the drawing board. My original idea was to just go to the Trop and get a Paradise Tower room, the elevator is right by the front door, the pool is one of the best in Vegas, and you're right on the corner of a great intersection on LV Blvd. Can I bid for the Trop and then just pay the upgrade to a Paradise Tower room?
  17. Poked around and looked for deals but the Tuesday is whats funking it up for me. Seems I planned my travel to overlap that day with CosmoPro the Hairdressers convention (30,000 attendees). Will see about changing to 7/18,19,20
  18. No Need for help. TravelZoo air deal was sold out before we got a chance to look for hotels.
  19. Any way to get the Alladin or better on those dates for say $50-80 per night?
  20. Recent win on a last minute request. Requested 3* strip or west of strip, bid $95 and got the Artisan. It was OK, kind of away from the action which was nice. Lobby and Bar are excellent. Decent place for last minute (booked it Fri morning for Sat stay).
  21. Need some help for a last minute deal. Going to Hawaii 7/2 return 7/4 so only need a place for night of 2nd and 3rd? Will be searching here but help from experts appreciated. Where's the bast last minute deals?!
  22. I didn't look at the thread starter, or I would have known you know about the Waldorf. I wish everyone at tripadvisor would post what they pay because it seems some write bad reviews based on the value. I stayed at the Paramount last Sept for 7 nights. Room was small but I only noticed the 7 hours a day I was in it. Had I paid 200-300 a night like some, I would have had a different perspective than the one I had only paying $130. I'm definitely asking for a corner room at the waldorf seems that the key to a little extra space.
  23. I can't stress getting the tickets at TKTS at South Street Seaport location (John/FrontSt) enough. Seems they always had better selection, nicer employees and on average only 3-4 people ahead of us in line. This was Sept 2004.
