  1. Got the Ramada Plaza New Yorker Hotel- 4.0-star hotel 4 nights for 498.73 (GBP)incl tax etc. Dates were Tuesday May 29th 2012 to Saturday checkout June 2nd 2012. Can't find the amenities on my Hotwire account.
  2. Just to close this post. We decided to play safe and booked HI-Express Atascadero directly
  3. In 2011 I won the Hilton Paddington London on PL. I emailed them soon after requesting a smoke free room. As per norm they replied that they could not guarentee this. I replied, thanking them for their response and that I had to request it due to my asthma, and thus proving to my travel insurance company I had requested a room well in advance. When we arrived at the hotel not only were we given a smoke free room, but I was asked if i would like allegy free pillows. So in the few times I have used PL/HW since I always emailed the request for a smoke free room.
  4. Thanks for your reply thereure. At the moment we only have flights booked, so our 'land' plans are not entirely finallised. An alternative could be to spend our last 3 nights in NYC. In this case it would be May 30-31 & June 1st. Do priceline even out the amount over the days? could I increase my chances by bidding for 4 nights bringing the average price required down. As for splitting the bid, because its only 3 nights and check-out & check-in times usually have a 4 hour gap, it would take up a good part of our stay. Please could you recommend a good site for booking a stay that can be canceled.
  5. Or are my bids too low My stay is for Sat 19th May for 3 nights, would like Chelsea or MSG because flying into JFK and going to Boston after stay via Penn station. For the past 10 days I've tried the following. 4-Star Chelsea & ESB TS & CPS MW & ME all with 6 re-bids each. Started at $145 up to $175 (know that its low for 4* but worth a try) 3.5-Star Chelsea & MSG TS & CPS MW & ESB (previous thread had ME hotels far from subway) all with 5 re-bids each Started at $145 up to $170 3-Star Chelsea & MSG TS & ESB MW & CPS Each with 1 rebid (Coney Is) Bid $145 Rebid $150 2.5-Star Bid Chelsea $135, added MSG $140, ESB $145 rebid with coney $150. (reading wins on tripadvisor, these are the only area I would like a 2.5*) So are my bids too low or is it difficult to get a Saturday check-in. Thanks in advance.
  6. Sorry, post looks odd removed from other thread, and put on own thread. Amenities were - Fitness Center, High Speed Internet Interesting. I watched this hotel for a few days at $99, then when decided to book rooms search came back with $112. Tried as little as 30 mins later and was $99, so booked there & then.
  7. I also got this hotel for march 16th 3 nights $99 plus tax, same amenities. Also used HOTWIRE link
  8. Please excuse me, forgot my manners. Would like to thank everyone involved in this great site for their help and suggestions posted etc directly & indirectly. Will give a hotel review after visit, but from a Hotwire customer point of view, (rooms given, treatment by staff etc.) actually hotel reviews can be viewed on a wealth of other sites.
  9. Been tracking the hotel for few weeks, was very sure it was the Sheraton because it also stated 160+ tripadvisor reviews. Had Orchid suites as back up booked and the price was fluxuating between $94-$99 so when saw it was $89 and the increased strength of the British pound decided to buy (saving will pay for car park :)). Because of time differences (+8 here in UK) booked at 4 am L.A. time, so not sure if the price dips during the night. Also Will I be guarenteed a room with 2 beds because on Hotwire, children's age states 0-17, and there is a difference between a 3 year old and a 16 year old.
  10. Sheraton Universal Check in July 15th out 19th, $89 per night for 2 rooms', 4 adults 1 child, booked using the HOTWIRE link. Seems Hotwire have upgraded this hotel from 3.5 to 4 star Amenities Smoke free rooms Fitness centre Pool Resturants Business centre High speed internet.
  11. Still not finalised for this date, but last search on Hotwire threw up Pismo Beach 2.5* for $79 (2 rooms 4 adults & 1 child) Amenities are breakfast, fitness, pool, laundry. Tripadvisor 3.5 out of 5 and Based on 60+ customer reviews (Last reviewed January 2009). Checked amenities on Expedia and only Pismo lighthouse (4.5 out of 5, 115 reviews) and Mission Inn (4.5 out of 5, 84 reviews) have the amenties. On Tripadvisor the only hotels rated at 3.5 with over 60 reviews are B-Western shore cliff lodge (84), Cliffs resort (126) and Seaventure hotel (67), but the Tripadvisor avg price seems to good to be true. Has anyone got a better idea as to what it could be. Thanks in advance.
  12. Have got the Orchid suites at the moment as cover, stayed there with my wife in Feb-08. This year will be with our 2 daughters and the eldest's partner, could be our last family hol, due to 'kids' ages etc. While the Orchid is excellent as a hotel base for Hollywood, it requires us to pay the room rate at the end of the stay, and with the current collapse of sterling was hoping to pay now at the current exchange rate. Have countered this currently by loading a pre-paid travel card. So in an ideal world would want a 4* in Hollywood that added with parking charges can at best equal Orchid suites or less. as for other zones, my eldest daughter who has never been to LA before wants to visit walk of fame, Universal studios etc, so if anyone has any suggestions for other zones etc. then please reply with you ideas. Sorry for the long-winded life story/ family history etc, and many thanks in advance.
  13. But are these hotels within walking distance of a beach?
  14. Dates are July 15th to 19th (4 nights) Priceline have a 3.5* option when bidding Hollywood. But if there is none then to risk using it as a free rebid for elseswhere could land you with a 4* (may be good or not, depending on location required, parking etc.)
  15. Any ideas on which hotel this could be. Hotwire Lompoc 2* $59 Date 1 night 7th July, 2 rooms 4 adults 1 child (16) Amenities are (cut & pasted) Near Beach Property is located within easy walking distance of a beach. Complimentary Breakfast <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. Laundry Facilities <amenity names only please... not descriptions> High-speed Internet Access Thanks in advance for any advice.
  16. Has anyone got any info on what the Hollywood Priceline 3.5* hotels could be. Thanks in advance.
  17. Will be visiting California in July 09 from UK, Visited 3 times before but this time taking extended family, thus requiring 2 rooms each night. Because of the falling value of the
