  1. Typo... Should read 3-stars, not 5-stars. I noticed that there were a couple of wins for the Hilton at $45 and $46 near the date of my stay, so tried for the same. I first bid $43 - no go. Got an offer to re-bid at $52. Ignored the re-bid offer, added Pike Place and upped my bid to $46 - accepted. Got Doubletree instead of Hilton though, so a bit longer of a walk from the airport. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $46.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $46.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $14.41 (USD) Total Room Cost: $60.41 (USD)
  2. Offer Price: $70.00 Rooms: 1 Room Subtotal: $70.00 Taxes & Fees: $18.79 Total: $88.79
  3. Using BetterBidding's PRICELINE link, this bid was accepted: Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $90.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 5 Room Subtotal: $450.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $73.90 (USD) Total Room Cost: $523.90 (USD) I was actually trying to get a cheaper 3*/3.5* in either Arlington or Crystal City. Started at $60 and increased by $5 increments. Used Downtown as a re-bid zone thinking it would be safe, seeing as nothing was hitting in both Arlington and Crystal City at the lower prices. So I was very surprised to see my bid get accepted in Downtown and be upgraded to 4*! On other occassions, this would have been a pleasant surprise. However on this occassion, I was specifically looking to stay closer to the airport. Go figure :)

  12. Colfax, tilepusher... Thanks for the advice! Very detailed and well explained, exactly what I was looking for. Now I just have to finalize my travel plans and test out your strategies. I will post my results. Cheers, Deinoki
  13. Thanks for the reply, Colfax. To answer your questions... 1) I will not have a car. 2) Party of 2, so one bed is enough. 3) Dates are now 11/28-12/01. My second dates ran into a scheduling conflict. 4) All things equal, I would prefer Pike Place. But Space Needle is perfectly acceptable. I looked at the hotel list, however it has a 2003 date. Is there a more current list somewhere? I will look into the Sixth Avenue suggestion you made. What was your impression of this hotel? Thanks again for your help! Cheers, Deinoki
  14. Is it possible to get something for $50 or less in the downtown Seattle area (Pike or Space Needle)??? If so, what are the likely winners? The dates I'm looking for are 11/28-12/01 or 12/07-12/10. Thanks!
