  1. I just walked through there tonight before a show at The Pantages, it's GORGEOUS, that is a great win :), the Roosevelt is in a better location.. but this hotel is amazing!
  2. Cute hotel, and modern, but the rooms are the tiniest I've ever been in. Hopefully you are traveling alone!
  3. I like flat screen TV's... I dunno why, but I've been to some hotels lately that didn't have it and it just felt SO old and outdated (even if it was a nice place). I appreciate a good shower too, with good water pressure, and when they give you enough towels. (girls use more than one towel when they shower!!).
  4. Try checking off Priceline and see what comes up.. I'm seeing THEHotel for $134 on Kayak, and I see What would likely be Vdara for $134 on HOTWIRE. Sometimes they aren't the best deals, or they just don't have any rooms for sale.
  5. The going rate per night of those hotels is about $200-$250+ on a weekend, I like to look at retail rates for the rooms I did a quick search on a regular travel site: Venetian/Palazzo - $290 Bellagio - $268 The Cosmopolitan - $221 THEHotel Mandalay Bay - $220 Wynn isn't coming up. I would start bidding around maybe $150... it's really hard to gauge. You an always rebid later if you don't get anything. Less hotels in Vegas allow check in on a Saturday than a Friday. If you are going to bid, I'd try both North and South strip. All 5 stay hotels are nice! Albeit more of them are in North Strip. But there are several brand new 5 stars in CityCenter which is south strip. I've never had 5 star success on Priceline. I've only won 4 stars. Also since you have time explore other options, do some googling, many times various hotel promo codes are a better deal than priceline and include some perks. (check twitter and facebook)
  6. I wish haha, haven't seen it on there. I would DIE to stay there, I went to check it out last week. It's still really popular it looks like, and rates are high. So I'm guessing no need yet. But they are opening another thousand rooms sometime this year, so maybe then.
  7. It's Vdara.. the non smoking icon, and no casino. Well, I see the Trump on there for $114... It's quite high, that's a good season for them because the weather is good. Anything against a 4 star? On hotwire I see a 4 star South Strip for $109 which would be I'm guessing Paris or Planet Hollywood. To me, those hotels are just as nice. I think I'd rather stay at one of those than Vdara for $169, at least they have amenities, casino, shopping, restaurants.
  8. Vegas isn't all that kid friendly anymore... not like it used to be 10 years ago. It's all about bars, nightclubs, casinos, and shopping. Southpoint is the 4 star South Strip, for $56 that's not bad! They have a huge movie theatre and a bowling alley which would be good for the kids, also it's a good location for a quick exit, don't have to deal with strip traffic... The Orleans also had a bowling alley and movie theatre and I think an arcade. (I don't see it on HOTWIRE right now for your dates, check their site, it's pretty reasonable I think it's a 3 or 3.5 star. Or maybe try something like The Trump which doesn't have a casino, that's $180 a night though. (5 star north strip condo)
  9. Sorry, the dates are 12/2-12/3 tomorrow :) Very excited for my cookies! :) Just looked up the rate on their website $169!.. wow, about 75% off. I swear I couldn't go on any of the little day trips I take without Priceline. Such great deal.
  10. Yay! Works for me. Tried 3.5 star for $40 it flat out rejected it, then added 3 star for $43 and it accepted it. All the hotels seemed pretty similar always. I love Doubletree and the free cookies, and they have free parking so that's great. I used the PRICELINE link.
  11. Well, I look at it this way, most hotels in the country charge a TON to park. It's usually $15-$20 a day... Vegas, all parking is free. It kind of evens out, yes I'd prefer it be added in. But, Vegas is still a tremendous deal, all their hotels are much more reasonable than anywhere! And the Palazzo is one of the nicest hotels in the world, a resort fee is not a huge deal.
  12. I've never had a problem. Why would the minimum wage front desk clerk care where I booked my hotel room? It's not of concern to them. I've been to many hotels from Priceline/Hotewire/LMT and they've treated me great, let me check in early, nobody ever seemed to poo poo that I booked my room on Priceline. Certain hotels they charge different prices for different rooms...like some charge extra for 2 beds, or for certain views, or floors.. then I'd understand. But I've never been treated inferior because I was a Priceline customer. It is safe to say, if half the hotel is remodeled, you are getting the old room. But you paid a significant amount less, I wouldn't complain. If I have a ton of special needs for a trip, I may try booking through the hotel directly. But If you do your research before hand and make sure the hotels you could possibly win will suit your needs it shouldn't be problem. I agree with CrusingUSA people are just scared!! I've saved so much money, and been in much nicer hotels thanks to Priceline. Some of my vacations, like to Seattle, if I had to pay full price for a room I couldn't go! Some of the rooms were double or triple what I paid on Priceline. Sure, I've had issues where the hotel isn't ideal, But I've never been truly upset or disappointed. A 3 star is always a 3 star..etc
  13. You know what? I'm going at that time, and I go that week every year. and I have always found good deals directly through the hotel. They run a lot of deals the week of xmas. We are staying at THEHotel at Mandalay Bay, we booked this offer, it's pretty good.. almost what you were bidding works out to about $130 a night. https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookinge...&code=PZPRO We go to Vegas about 4 times a year and this is by far our favorite room. They are huge!! 2 bathrooms, It's so nice and relaxing. This is the only time a year we can find a good deal there.
  14. Ditto. If I can I just call and ask. I just got in on an early flight, is there a way I can check in early? I've done it several times, and never had a problem. I've checked in at 9 or 10 am a few times. Especially if it's not a busy season. But definitely call and ask. The only place I've had an issue is Vegas, they have a schedule because they have so many rooms to be turned over and all that. They don't really seem to have a "policy", well if everybody asked... but they have to have rooms available.
  15. I just used it for my trip to Vegas, which I just returned from. I stayed at the Westin Casurina, I felt like they took forever to send the confirmation e-mail but I went on their website and saw the confirmation probably 24 hours later. Then called them up to double confirm it. I wish they'd be faster at confirming, that's my only complaint. It felt a little shady having to keep checking. The hotel was completely sold out the entire weekend, surprised I got it! The hotel even upgraded me to a higher floor and I had a nice view, and I had a slightly larger accessible room. They obviously didn't care where I booked my room.
  16. I just tried this out, the hotel was right. The all seemed right to me, I checked a bunch, I'd say their zones are tad off though. Going to Vegas next week and I had booked the Westin on Priceline (which is fine, but my party wasn't thrilled with).. but we decided 2 rooms would be better for the 3 of us (the don't even have queen beds there :-/) but man, everything is SO expensive that weekend. I couldn't find a decent hotel anywhere for the $115 we'd paid for the Westin. LMT had it for $69 so I have it on request.. let's see if I get it *crosses fingers* eh worst that can happen is we'll have to suck it up and share. :)
  17. Happened to me too, going next weekend, the rest of my party is not thrilled to be staying at the Westin for $115 a night :-/ would of at least liked to get something "Vegas-y" but The Westin is actually a very nice hotel, AMAZING shower and bed, perfect for recovering from Vegas craziness.
  18. I think Vegas has just possibly been more crowded lately... I don't think it's up to PRICELINE, if they are selling more rooms, they don't have to sell as many to PRICELINE. The rooms got SO undervalued before. a 5 star hotel shouldn't be $50 a night.
  19. Venetian and Palazzo have the Suite icon :) and possibly bed choice.. i know they have a price difference for the 2 bed rooms. I don't seem to see Wynn very much when I search...
  20. Put in $40 said "add $10" so I changed my criteria, added another zone and made it $45 and it was accepted. :o I'm mad I have to stay in OC, I'm going to San Diego, but because of Comic Con I can't stay there (going to a different event) :) but this hotel looks nice. So i'm excited! I used the PRICELINE link :)
  21. They have been reported on HOTWIRE.. maybe go check there..
  22. Not bad.. I wanted the downtown, but this is fine and looks nice, just for one night for a concert, which is the day I check out so not too concerned :). What to do in Fresno!? Haha never been. Bid $35 and they came back with "add $10" and I rejected and added West Fresno which has no 3 stars, and upped it $5 and it was accepted! Rate is $102 on their website! I used the link :)
  23. Booked this for my parents, they are very happy! Were excited to venture in to the world of HOTWIRE and PRICELINE. I did a failed PRICELINE bid for up to $175 for a 4 star with no success (used the link) so we did some research and they decided they were happy with the Hyatt so we booked it on HOTWIRE. 24. Well, it's going to be closer to $163, maybe try $145 or something like they might just take it, or bid up slowly adding the non 5 star zones. Yea 5 star South which is likely Aria at CityCenter is coming up on HOTWIRE, I'd get that, if I were you haha.
