I would have to agree with this observation. Grand Sierra/Peppermill/Atlantis are the same price for this upcoming JUne 6th weekend

The Grand Sierra and Peppermill are totally different GSR considers the below room an upgrade because the Murphy bed allows for more rooms... and they actually call that room a suite! PRICELINE does not pirgeonhole customers by having them bid high star rating, and get the low star class room.

Peppermill and Atlantis both Have motorlodge.... but you are bidding on stars. Each hotel has 3 star levels. Grand Sierra Resort has 2 star levels, 3.5 is GSR, and 4* is the Summit (remodeled rooms/condos) at Grand Sierra. They will not bump you down... no worries.

That was a deal... too bad their Pool and hot Tub are closed for another month or so

I hold the maid responsible LOL. You are the one who left them in there. No need for morals and pointing fingers. This world today, is not going to meet to yours, or anyones expectations. We just have to be smart enough to live in it. The Homewood Suites in Oakland, CA returned my Wife's fleec jacket back to us Priority Mail. Not too bad. I always communicate with the housekeeper, because then they remember me. I do ask if they will continue to clean the same area of the hotel, and when their day off is, to consider a different gratuity if needed. Once someone knows what you are about, they have a reason to clean or organize something and feel rewarded for doing it, rater than just doing a job.

Everyone should check their Expedia.com accounts. Once logged in, and going to My Account, there is a coupons link, where there may be stored coupons sent when they send you their emails. I had one which saved me $100 on my Los Caos Trip with air and hotel to the Riu Palace Los Cabos May 10-17 2008.

As a tip, the insultated folding shoulder bags/coolers from Sam's Club, and the like are great, as mentioned before. The Sam's Club bag is like $7 and is super insulated.... It will fit a small-med pizza box when expanded... so no worries taking leftovers back to the room. I do empty the liquified ice daily in the tub, and freshen up.

Here is to the New Year, and for your calendar, in conjunction with HOTWIRE's pricing helped me get rooms in Reno for a 3.5 hotel (Grand Sierra Resort, or Peppermill for that matter) for less than $50, which includes tax. The calendar is great......

Deal caught me due to Hotwire posting a $49 3.5 star in Reno Sout/AIrport zone, and I know the Grand Sierra or Peppermill qualify for both Priceline (3*) and Hotwire (3.5*). So I went with an initial 4* bid for Reno South on Priceline. 4* zone only has Atlantis... another good bet, due to the year round pool, and 2 outdoor hot tubs. Reno South $41 - Rejected Added Sparks (free rebid for 4*) $43 - Rejected P/L offered a coutneroffer of $62, I passed I tried closing the window, and opening a new session, and bid at 3* at a lower price $41 3* Reno South Accepted Grand Sierra Good luck to me getting up to Tahoe, from the SF Bay Area, with the projected heavy snow on these dates!

I had these guys slam us on the 17 floor or something like that... The walk to the room is beautiful with the thatched look atrium view Late night, the amber light glow is so peaceful

We just got back, and this hotel cant be beat. The hotel offers a limo to take you anywhere in Union Square/BART, etc. , FREE Great Deal We got an end of the hall room, # 303 and it was small, clean and well appointed. The quality of the room was easily $200 + for those uninformed snobs who actually pay full price. The walk from Market St is a major hike, due to the 3 blocks of steep hills..! Bidding Strategy: Hotwire had a 4* which resembled similar amenities as the ones listed, sans high speed internet. I decided to give Priceline a try. I was hoping for the Sheraton San Jose (Milpitas, Ca), but got confirmed for the Crowne Plaza, which is 1.5 miles from the Sheraton, on the same street. Looks like thereuare might have to update the hotel for the appropriate star rating, and amenities. Ends up to be $58.xx after tax and fees, when I recall a $72/night plus tax rate on avg for hte same dates directly. Previous poster won a 3* for $44 with a free upgrade to 4* Atlantis I put in a bid for My Birthday weekend for 4 rooms (B-day is actually Feb 1st) Priceline accepted my $40 bid.. Ended up $45.53 per room per night.... .Slammin deal, considering their online res was avg $85 a night with taxes, thru Travelocity. The only other consideration wouldve been the Peppermill, since they have a nicer pool ( I know, winter), but they were like $110 a night for some reason. Thanks, Matt

I was hoping for the 3* rebid, it would be the Peppermill, but got the Grand Sierra. Oh well, I want to go bowling, asn we just got a B1G!F Buffet coupon there.... 4 * 59 reject with 89 counter offer added 3* $72.. accepted Grand Sierra

I do not think Aladding would be a better room in terms of quality compared to the Lux
