Hi, Well my bid was accepted @ 45 for 3* Holiday Inn Richmond West End 2000 Staples Mill Road Richmond, Virginia 23230 I have one issue now. This hotel doesn't provide free breakfast in the morning. I mean I m staying in a 2* Ramada Inn(booked @ 40$/night) right now, and even they provide me with a hearty morning breakfast, and over here i m paying $45/night, and its a 3* hotel, and I have to pay from my pocket to get some breakfast. thts ridiculous. do you think I can call priceline help center, and they can change my reservation, or give me some "hot dollars" for this problem. I will post my review of Holiday Inn after my stay with them is over. G

ok, I tried & cudnt get thru thrice. I first tried with $38, and 4* (i knew this wudnt go thru, but tried) that was rejected, today after 24 hrs, i tried with $45 with 4*, included a zone which had 3* and less=rejected, then at same price included a 3rd zone this time i went down to 3-1/2* still rejected. tomorrow i will try with the same zones with 3* and $45, will keep you guys posted. I thought of splitting the bid, the problem, is that I am moving to Richmond area, so I have too much stuff with me, and it will be a big hassle for me to move between hotels. So I dont want to do that. Let me know any suggestions on my chances of getting a 3* hotel for 45$. Thanks, G

Hi, I will be moving to Richmond,VA this weekend, and I am looking for a 3* and up hotel and my budget is btwn $40-$50. my stay wud b from 10/10 - 10/17(dates are fixed). I havent started bidding yet, but i m doing my homework, by reading the tips/tricks on the site & threads. my question is does a week's stay affect the bid or the star level of the hotel. how does PRICELINE work if u plan stay for this long in a hotel. any inputs wub be appreciated. Well, my initial rate of 19$ was not accepted by PRICELINE, so I just booked the car from HOTWIRE, because its only one week left, and I dont want to wait any further, so Hotwire gave me a rate of 23.95$ and the grand total came at about 342$. The company is Avis, any experiences with that one, but thanks "Thereuare" for your valuable advice, I appreciate it. Thanks, graphicaluser

Yes my plans are firm. The dates are confirmed. Yes in HOTWIRE, they will announce the name of the company only after the purchase. For PRICELINE, the concern is that if the offer is accepted, I wont have the chance of looking at any other offers at any other place which might give me a cheaper rate.

Hi, I m looking for a mid-size car rental for 10 days starting 16th Oct 9 PM till 26th Oct 9 AM pickup and drop off @ Bush Intercontinental. I looked up @ hotwire, and it gave me $23.95/day, and a total of $342.71 including everything. I did not bid on priceline because of the below policy of priceline. Btw, I was thinking of making an offer of 19$ for a midsize car. If your offer is accepted, we will immediately lock in your reservation and charge your credit card. Only the driver will be able to pick up this rental car at the counter. If your offer is not accepted, your credit card will not be charged. I also looked at Travelocity, and the cheapest that I got from them was $372, plus the taxes, and the grand total would be 540$ something. Which one is a good option? Hotwire does seem good, but the difference is huge and thats kinda making me hesitant. Any input on this would be appreciated.
