After struggling w/ Priceline hotels north of Columbus, and limited selections from Hotwire, we went with this choice. Prices seem to be high for this weekend, but we are happy with the price and rating for the selection.

3* Wingate by Wyndham - Henderson, NV (Henderson - SE Las Vegas area hotel) for $49 for 7/16. For 2 rooms sith taxes, etc., total is $116.98. Rate directly through the hotel site was $99 before taxes, etc. Using Hotwire allowed us to get two rooms for $1 less than a single room. Most excellent! Amenities listed: Airport Shuttle, Smoke Free Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby Based on the information listed here @ Better Bidding, we felt pretty confident that we knew the hotel we were getting. Tried Priceline 1st and bid up to $40/night without a win. We decided to pay the extra to be more confident in the hotel and assure free breakfast. Interesting bidding note. When selecting 1 room, 2 adults, 0 kids, we were offered a hotel w/ less amenities for $47. Selecting 1 room, 2 adults, 2 kids, we were offered this room. However, when we changed to 2 room, 2 adults, 2 kids, we were offered the $47 hotel again. To get this hotel (our preferred choice) we had to select 2 rooms, 2 adults, 3 kids. We used the HOTWIRE links at the top of the page for all bidding! Thanks!

Attempted multiple bids over several days starting @ $50, increasing in $5 increments. Areas, in order of preference: Hotel Circle Coronado Mission Valley Point Loma -- used San Ysidro for addl bidding since it was 2.5* and below Started bids at 3.5*, then 3*. Never bidding over $70. Finally, went to 2.5* in the my preferred areas, adding one each time until successful @ $65 in Mission Valley. The Trip Advisor reviews are quite good for this level hotel. As always hoping for the best. Used the Better Bidding PRICELINE link on each and every new bid! Love the site, always helpful.

From the forum posts, we felt sure we could get the Omni Shoreham for $70, so we modified our bids based on that information.
