  1. Hello, I booked the 2.5 express deal and WAS given a room below the rating the offer advertised (Extended Stay). I promptly called customer service and although it took some arguing with the initial agent and some time, they refunded it after I was transferred to a customer resolution type center. This is the second time I have had an issue with Priceline although I have had many good bookings with great savings. This is leaving me wary of booking with them. Hopefully this will help others be aware when booking. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply. Once I book, I will remember the links. Go Blue :)
  3. Hello, I am looking at a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in Raleigh- Durham (NC) for 2.5 star as a backup plan. The location is Research Triangle and is advertised for $38 with a guest score of 7+/10. There is only one hotel I would hope to avoid, which is the Extended Stay America Durham Research Triangle, which is a 2.5 but reflects a guest score of 6.9. Do you believe they would not include this hotel since they are advertising a 7+ guest score? I am just wondering if anyone has found the descriptions offered in Express deals to be inaccurate. My hope/plan is to win a bid for the 3 star Research Triangle and have been rejected at $41 and $43 so far. Booking is for 8/12 for one night. Thanks for any insight!
  4. Most hotels are charging $199-$259 and I checked extensively for weeks. Pretty decent deal and good area with a city shuttle to game for $1.50 one way. Free parking and friendly desk attendant. Some minor issues with housekeeping and room seemed somewhat dated. Did have a huge flat screen tv and was actually given a suite room with kitchen, fridge and couch area. Decent pool and hot tub, also offers a decent breakfast with hot eggs, bacon etc. I am somewhat picky and like to stay in nicer hotels, but this is a decent, fair place to stay that I am sure most would be satisfied with completely. Ann Arbor is difficult for game weekends as hotels are somewhat limited and outrageous in price. All in all I cannot complain as nothing terrible happened. I'm just a bit of a hotel snob, but staying here saved me $150 for sure. *Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby
  5. Retail price was $189, bid today and got for $51. Fair deal!
  6. Suggested retail price was $194, so this seems to be a fantastic deal!
  7. Suggested price was $109 for 3 star. First bid $45 for a 3.5 star and it was rejected. Since I will leave before 24 hours is up, I bid $40 for the 3 star and got the Hyatt Place. It is listed as a 2.5 on this site, so it may need updated. If it is as nice as the Independence, Ohio location, I will be thrilled.
  8. Got Hyatt Regency Arcade. 1st bid @ 50 won it. Satisfied. Suggested median was $149.
  9. Hi! I have actually stayed here with a friend just a few months back. It was really, really nice. Especially for the priceline rate. It has a terrific outdoor pool, beautiful lobby and restaurant area and very nicely furnished and spacious rooms. We were extremely comfortable. So much that I recommended it to a friend that actually lives in the Cleveland area. Really nice property, but not exactly close to much in terms of walking or anything. As I recall, it may have been several miles away from Painesville ("downtown" area), not sure about Mentor.
  10. Retail rate was $155, so not tooo shabby!
  11. Very, very pleased with this win. Probably my favorite Cleveland area hotel now! Although Embassy Suites is a close runner with their evening managers reception! Very efficient and friendly check in. Desk rep stated that she gave me a wonderful room and she certainly did. Not always the case when booking with 3rd party sites. Spacious room #1609 with 2 walls of windows overlooking the public square which was actually quite pretty lit at night. Room was nicely appointed with a large desk and huge flat screen television. Nice shower with FANTASTIC water pressure in shower. Nice toiletries at sink, aromatherapy branded. Extra bonus that I do not find in every hotel of this brand was a cd/mp3/ocean waves sounds player next to bed. I love, love, love having a cd player so I don't have to lug in my own portable stereo! Also, was able to park very close on the street at the pay machines, but didn't have to pay over the weekend. Love free parking!
  12. I won this hotel in Mid November 2009 on a Tuesday night for $67. Far below the stated median price of $239. I was quite disappointed however. After coming in very late, and very tired, I chose to just use the hotel parking which was overpriced at $23. The style of the room is dated and had the old, large box style television, which at this stage for a 4 star hotel is unbelievable to me. Many times 2.5 and 3.0 have large flat screens. The wifi was for a charge, and not really cheap either. The pool was in an atrium in the middle of the hotel with views from many room windows with tables and chairs surrounding. It was not terribly large, but was empty each time I peeked. The bathroom did have a pretty and nice marble sink, but I suppose that was the best feature as far as I am concerned. The bed was a small single queen in a room which was the size of a closet. I would never book this location again, and hope that I never get upgraded to it either. I enjoy the Cle Doubletree, Marriott Cle Airport and Holiday Inn Exp much, much more. Really, just about any 3 star and above in downtown Cleveland would take precendent over this location. * Oh, and the air/heat (?) unit was UNBELIEVABLE. I did not even know how to use it...the air came out minimally and cold no matter how I turned it. It was dated and awful.
  13. Have not stayed at this location before and would not bid for it again. NOT impressed. Old box style tv and room was the size of a closet with overpriced parking. I, myself, am much happier at Holiday Inn Exp or Doubletree in downtown Cleveland.
  14. Bid for a 3 star Downtown on Priceline hoping to get the Doubletree and won with an "upgrade" to the Hyatt Regency Arcade. 3.5 star @ $34 for one night. Was OK! Can't really complain at that rate!
  15. I have a feeling that the 4 star on Hotwire is the Hyatt Regency Arcade...maybe they have adjusted the rating of that property. I stayed at that property last night using Priceline for $34. Have won that property several times at $34-$35.
  16. Checking in on Friday Oct 23 and out the next day. $46 4 star win in downtown Columbus, Ohio at the Hyatt On Capitol Square. Average median rate was 129.
  17. Way over the 50% off the "retail" price for this room. Won at $45 plus the taxes and fees for Columbus downtown on September 24 at a four star room which ended up being Residence Inn by Marriott! I'm very happy!
  18. Won on Priceline for $75 for September 9th for one night. 3 Stars, University area. It's an okay win!
  19. Hello, I won on PRICELINE the Hyatt Regency for $37. Definitely not my favorite hotel by any means, but close to the House of Blues and CHEAP!
  20. Hi, I stay in Cleveland quite frequently and have stayed at most of the hotels in the area. Back in June, while staying at the Doubletree and booking each morning as I was not sure when I would be leaving, I got the Hyatt when doing my booking for the following night. I absolutely hated it. Perhaps this was just a one off, but this was the most disappointing Hyatt that I have stayed in. I booked through HOTWIRE, and when checking in they gave me a handicapped room with one bed down a long hallway. The room actually smelled oddly, so I called down requesting a room change. I am not handicapped, so I am not sure why they placed me in that room. The next room I was given was very, very far away from anything. There were no people nearby anywhere. Employees, guests nothing. It was down 2 very long hallways, around corners and tucked in a nook. The room was spacious. However, as a lone young female, I felt nervous tucked away like that. I have never had any fears or uneasy feelings traveling alone but this place was just really desolate. Also, I was charged by the closest parking garage almost $20 for less than 30 minutes parking. It was ridiculous. They also charge for internet. I generally like Hyatt as a brand but I would be very hesitant to book, fearing I would get this awful hotel again. I was at the point that I was ready to forfeit the money booking through Hotwire and pay to stay at another hotel. I was very uncomfortable. With as empty as this hotel was, they didnt HAVE to put me in the worst of the worst rooms. Also, there is nothing by means of food, convenience stores or anything on the street of the hotel, but around the block there is nightlife and food. Very desolate, questionable street by night. I have also stayed at the Radisson, which I really did like. There is no pool there either but the internet was free and the room was as nice if not nicer than the Hyatt. Parking was pretty easy, especially on weekends. And there was many nightspots, restaurants and such just within steps. I would take that Radisson over the Hyatt anyday. But like I said, this could be a one off experience.
  21. Today, July 9, I booked the $77 rate for the 4 star downtown Cincinnati through the HOTWIRE link on this site and received the Westin. The amenities which I do not have time to list were the EXACT same as the ones listed under the Cincinnati Westin on this site. The night booked is for tonight!
  22. $49, amenties listed were the same as in a topics below, and appeared/was guessed to be the Crowne Plaza. Actual win was Doubletree, which does have the pool but wasn't one of the listed amenties for the offer. Have stayed several times in past. Fab rate! Very pleased. Didn't want the Crowne so much due to no pool. Tip-meter parking out front..maid was writing tickets on cars at 8:01, when time begins on them at 8:00.
  23. I stayed the first week of May in Independence for two nights...the 3.5 I got was the Doubletree which did have a very nice pool area. The 3 I got was indeed the Hyatt Place. Although, the pool area at the Hyatt Place was small and without a hot tub, this place was phenomenal. Especially for the 50 some dollar rate I paid. Very nice, VERY spacious rooms with enormous televisions. The front desk also had snacks, cold sandwiches and a grill that as far as I could tell could be ordered from at any time. VERY convenient. For the price, I would take the Hyatt Place over the Doubletree anyday!
