  1. thereuare, I had already created a thread for my 'win' see below: Priceline Philadelphia Hilton Garden Inn I started this one for my Thursday night attempt. Let me know if I can help with more info ... I'll update when I try again for Thursday!
  2. I have an odd schedule where I'll be in Philly in 2 separate occasions this week. My bid for Tuesday night made earlier today was accepted and the exact bid for Thursday night was rejected. I will try again tomorrow.
  3. I have a course to attend in Center City. The course was actually at the Radisson Warwick which I had hoped to get but I got this for a Tuesday 4/21 check-in. No problem as they are almost equally nice and the Hilton Garden Inn has better parking accomodations. My 1st bid was $45 which I began at based on past 3* bids on this site. I still may have to bid for another course later this week on Friday!
  4. I entered PRICELINE thru the BetterBidding link ... I began my bidding at $65/night and the 1st attempt was accepted. I would've bid less to start but honestly I didn't want to have to check back on multiple days as this was for my wife and she already had a $140/night reservation at a Marriott there. According to Tripadvisor.com, the Renaissance is the #1 rated hotel according to their posters so everyone's happy!
  5. Btw, the hotel's own website was charging $289 for the same Friday overnight stay as the one I booked thru HOTWIRE. When taxes etc are factored in, I saved $200. A great savings in this current economy ...
  6. Very easy and I was 100% confident of the hotel identity thanks to the previous threads discussing the amenities (beachfront, smoke-free rooms, pool, restaurant).
  7. Tried $50 then rebid by adding the Ft Washington suburb zone which had no 3* and above hotels at a $60 rate. I'm really pleased with this result and this was the exact place that I was looking to stay at. [remembered to access PRICELINE through this site this time !] BTW, the Philadelphia Marriott West is now a 3.5* star hotel according to Priceline in case someone wants to note that on the Priceline Hotel Lists for this zone.
  8. You may be right. Before visiting this site, I just tried (unsuccessfuly) to bid on a 4* hotel in Union Sq East for $200 and then rebid at $225 by adding USW ... no luck. I was offered an opportunity to rebid by adding $25 but I stopped and visited here 1st.
