  1. Area is called Yau Ma Tei - Jordan (Jordan) was trying to get a 4* Hotel with NYOP but failed - went with PRICELINE EXPRESS deal final price/night 85,79€ Free Internet (in Room) Outdoor Pool Shuttle Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant 8+ evaluation Rooftop Pool - I expected this hotel, so it's a nice win ca. 24% below official rate (right now, hotel prices usually go down the close arrival is, May is low seaon in HK!)
  2. target was to get Country Inn SD North but a bit cheaper as it is offered in PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals so I started with 50€ in Sorrento Mesa, then added San Isidro (only region without a 3* hotel) with 52€, then added LaJolla (which has 3* but unlikely to get one for such low rate, general the are would be good as well) with 55€ - accepted. On top of the official guaranteed amenities (e.g. free parking, business center) the Country Inn offers to all guest free breakfast and 100% smoke free property). What I personally really see as a big advantage is that the hotel is a real hotel not a motel style like most 3* hotels are (e.g. BW Miramar, Radisson Rancho, etc.) which are similar official price level
  3. there was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for 105 (final price) (also at HOTWIRE slightly cheaper) - I started with 60 and added several zones. got it with $80 - unfortunately couldn't extend (yet) for 1 night Room Subtotal: $80.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.06 Total Charged: $97.06 Paid in full
  4. as google street view shows there are plenty of free "in the streets" overnight parkings available - let's see
  5. official rate on Hilton website is $284 +28,69 tax=$312,74 for non-refundable - priceline charged me a total of $109.29 and says "You saved 68%" - wow that's correct unbelievable :D Free Wifi according to Hilton website - parking unfortunately $19
  6. wanted to give priceline a chance as there was a hotwire 3,5* hotel with free parking AND free internet in the area for similar final price 89-90 USD for 1 night (using the 20 USD discount code) - so I got one of the few hotel chains which still charge for internet access - go to hell Hilton my Gold Membership expired last year.... Hotwire might have been the Sheraton, which I'd have also prefered from decor style. <_<
  7. Just noticed that Priceline shows now prices in EUR for IP Adresses in Europe? Or am I wrong? This is very bad!!! Why: 1. they use a exchange rate which I don't know in advance 2. I pay extra 1,5-2% on top even they charge in EUR except they would charge e.g. in the UK or France, Germany etc (EU-country) 3. we cannot compare wins anymore on this board Can anybody from this forum please ask priceline at least to make it possible to set currency in settings? Edit: found the bottom on top right to switch back USD
  8. OK Thanks a lot - I got a NYC PRICELINE EXPRESS hotel deal for May 28th to June 1st $121 for 3,5* (Boutique Grand Central) - end of Mai it seems to be easier again....
  9. one question? Why do you consider May 16th, 17th etc. a expensive time of the year? Any special event? Thanks for clarifying....
  10. "free breakfast on Saturdays" was some kind of "special" which some TA-reviewers reported - acc. to their front office manager it seems to be not valid anymore....
  11. got a normal room - this place is a older property updated some time ago to make it cooler - 90 bucks ist just ok for it (compared to the offiical 250++ during weekedays in the high tech area)
  12. Pluses: New hotel, quiet, room clean and well presented, good location, free WIFI, free unlimited filtered water, you must check out 27th Floor once you arrive, free tea, coffee, hot choc, coke, sprite, nibbles and fruit, every Sat free breakfast here also. Large lounge area here too.
  13. correct: Restaurant, Business, Fitness? is it available again for my dates?
  14. express deal, 4 nights, 1 room higher than 7, forgot the other amenities (I think it was restaurant and gym) can't find anymore-maybe it was a one-time shot deal?
  15. seems that "The Domain" has been upgraded by PL to 3,5*? started with $60, $70 and was stupid enough not to try 80 - however got it for $90 :D Seesm that these folks have rooms with patio windows (which they sell at PL/HW for 50% off) what I'd really dislike - I also thought last time (last win 2012 for $60 at hotwire) I read about a free breakfast?
  16. I used $20 link in hotwire's email (valid only Dec 6th) and the discount was shown till checkout under "confirm payment": "you'll be charged a total of $102,49 (including taxes and fees) - screenshot available. However the webpage which appeard after I pressed the "confirm payment" botton and the confirmation email showed both the $20 not respected (payment $122,49). I sent email to 'Hotwire Customer Care' <[email protected]> immediately after my purchase and also via their website (referring my booking number) but received not even a email that they have my inquiry? Is this normal? - I suppose my bank will be easily be convinced that they need to refund the 20 bucks, however it would be refunded by my bank not by hotwire - I want that hotwire takes responsibility of their crappy website and refund the 20 bucks. B) comments welcome!
  17. thereyourare, do you really think I get any comment if you moved my question to the win thread? I don't know how is traffic here in the meantime (as the real deals with PL/HW are gone) but I'd appreciate to have my question in the Q&A area again! Thanks

  20. this express deal was without any ammentities ... For whatever reason I could book this offer via a polish email account (company account) but my friend in Germany didn't find this offer? Is this really true? PRICELINE EXPRESS deals are available only for specific POS?
