  1. Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, Laundry facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby I initially thought this would be the Staybridge Suites in Franklin but it turned out to be the Holiday Inn Express on Zellman Ct. We booked this using Better Bidding's HOTWIRE link.
  2. I went ahead and booked the 3* Milwaukee Airport choice and it turned out to be a Holiday Inn Express. Based on posts I had assumed it was the Staybridge but we are happy with how it worked out. I will post this separately to the board with details.
  3. First hotel: 3.5* Milwaukee West Area Non-Smoking, Fitness, Swimming, Restaurant, Business Center, High-Speed Internet, Golf Nearby $56 ... 6/15 (one night) Second hotel: 3* General Mitchell Intl Airport MKE area Hotel Breakfast, Fitness, Swimming, Business center, Laundry, High-speed Internet, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby $48 ... 6/15 (one night) Thank you. I will be sure to post our results. Should I post to the hotel list board or hear?
  4. I am seeking help identifying this Cincinnati area hotel on Hotwire for an April 9-11 (two nights) stay: 3* Blue Ash Area: Complimentary breakfast, Fitness center, Pool, Business Center, High-speed internet, golf nearby Thanks all! I know is my second post for same dates but after deciding to put off DC we are debating between Chicago and Cincinnati and the venerable Stay-cation.
  5. I will definitely use the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link if we decide to make this trip. We're still on the bubble a bit and may put it off until fall. Thanks!
  6. Hi, Can you help me identify this hotel on Hotwire: 3-star, Schaumburg, Illinois. Amenities: Fitness Center, Swimming Pool. Dates of Travel: April 9-11 (two nights) Thanks!
  7. Thanks! If it turns out to be the Hyatt, is $102 a pretty good rate for that property? We are budget travelers (who isn't?!) and are weighing whether to go to DC now or to wait until next fall when rates may be a bit cheaper ... Thanks.
  8. We would be traveling from April 7-9 (three nights). Our kids are 12, 8 and 3. Up to now they've been happy enough to share a queen/double bed. Thanks!
  9. Hi all, Trying to book a last-minute DC trip and need help IDing these hotels: 2-Star Arlington. $88. Amenities: Complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, high-speed internet 3.5-Star Silver Spring. $102. Amenities: Fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high-speed Internet Would love advice on which property is the best value for the money; also, we have three small children; is it therefore not advisable to book through HOTWIRE given their two-child minimum? Thanks! :)
  10. Now I get it. I could not remember where I posted! Thanks for the help. I used HOTWIRE (betterbidding link) and reserved the Sheraton Suites, Elk Grove Village, for $41. It's a great deal. Thanks for the help! For others' reference, that was the: 3.5 star with these amenities: Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Interent, Business, Golf
  11. OK: Do I need to move the Hoffman Estates question to Hoffman Estates or leave it here?
  12. Hi, I just posted for Schaumburg and a second option is Hoffman Estates for April 5 (one night). Options include: 2.5-star in Hoffman Estates on Hotwire. amenities: Comp breakfast, fitness center, pool, high-speed internet. cost: $54 3-star Hoffman Estates on Hotwire. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool, Business Center, High Speed Internet. price: $38 If you have any idea which hotels these may be please post. Thanks for your help with our short trip!
  13. Thanks. I'm wondering: Given the unknowns, would it be worth trying Priceline? I have never used Priceline before so I am a little hesitant. But the Sheraton Suites also sounds good. Problem is I have to make a run to Lake Zurich during our stay and Elk Grove Village is a bit farther from there than Schaumburg. I will definitely use the betterbidding link and follow up with our results. Where do I post those? Ie. same forum as this?
  14. I would be interested in trying PRICELINE if I can likely get a better deal. We are not too picky but the kids would definitely want a pool.
  15. Hi, I am looking at a 2.5 star hotel in Schaumburg, IL in Hotwire. Amenities are: Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Laundry, High Speed Internet $48 Does any one know which hotel that is? Also considering: 3 star hotel: Schaumburg, $37, Fitness Center and Pool. Looks to good to be true! If any of you know which hotels these are please post. If you know of any other hotels that would be worth trying to get via Priceline in the Schaumburg area let me know. We are a family of five (two adults, three children 11, 7 and 3 so a suite would be best). Thank you.
  16. Thanks again for the prompt help and advice! I will definitely spread the word about this site.
  17. Thanks much for the help! I decided to go with Hotwire rather than risk losing the possibility of the Palmer House. We're happily booked :) : Aug. 22-23 Palmer House Hilton $96 Amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access I would still welcome info on Skokie as we stay there when we bring kids (speaking of which is it a problem with Hotwire to bring three children which boosts occupancy to 5?) I will also post the above on the new calendar.
  18. Thanks! May I ask one other thing? Another option is to go for my home town of Skokie. For $68, HOTWIRE shows a 2.5 Star with these amenities: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Tennis Nearby Pool Laundry facilities Does this sound like the Doubletree North Shore or the Holiday Inn? We will definitely post our results when we settle on something! Thanks again.
  19. Thanks much! Yes, I realized I had posted to two different threads and could not figure out how to move them together. Thanks for doing that and I'll remember that in the future. About the Conrad Hilton, it sounds like you're saying my chances of getting it by bidding for River North are slim. I've noticed a few wins for the Conrad using that approach. Would you advise against trying that? Thanks again for the help and the parking info for the Palmer. That would be a nice second choice and it sounds like HOTWIRE might be a safer bet for us. Thanks again. Great web site/ forum!
  20. Hi, I have used HOTWIRE but not PRICELINE in the past. I'm looking for a hotel within striking distance of Wrigley Food and with restaurants nearby for after the game for: Aug. 22-23 Budget: $125 or less From what I've read, I'd love to land the Conrad Hilton. Again, would PRICELINE or HOTWIRE be best for this property? Any tips on how to get it? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks! I will post my results to help other newbies like me.
  21. Hi, I am searching HOTWIRE for a Chicago hotel for Aug. 22-23. For $95 Hotwire offers a hotel with these amenities in The Loop: Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Could this be the Palmer House? I've seen others find it for 129 or so so I'm wondering if this is likely a different hotel because of the lower rate. Thanks! Also curious about cost of parking there.
