  1. Which zone(s) are you bidding? HOTWIRE is currently offering 4* hotels in this region for $135-$155/nite... would either of these work for your needs? I try to bid *5 into Orchard & City Hall/marina hope to get Hilton , Conrad, or anything better. 4* for all zone except Bugis & east coast with up to 140 $USD. I saw Hotwire price but the total cost as much as the regular hotel (Moon hotel, Landmark, Millenium..etc). Many companies have moved their office from Japan to Singapore due to earthquake that take all the rooms ????.
  2. As same as previous post, I tried up to total ($162) and failed. There is current 5* for total 170 USD, so I stopped. I did split the bid for 2 different day, no help. I think Priceline may have no inventory in Singapore??? No offer for higher price either???? (sorry for the title said up to total $150, but I did up to $160 USD)
  3. The hotel was remodeled few years ago. I checked in late and they ran out of room, so I got free upgrade to suite but older room (was not remodeled yet). They did not get the confirmation from Priceline, it took many e-mails & phone calls to Priceline & to Hotel (long distance to thailand) to resolve it. But $43 is a great deal! Sorry I did not check this post earlier :)
  4. what price that we can get? any idea? I already bid >$110 (including tax&fee), still don't get it yet. I would not pay more than 150$ since many hotel (4.5 stars) is listing <150$.
  5. Booked the Hilton for 11/24 to 11/25 for 1 room at $103/nt (include tax & fee) first bid of $75 was rejected and was given an offer to increase my bid by $22. Instead added the Riverfront area, financial district, 79$ then 81$ and was successful. Quite disappointed since Hilton is 4 stars on most booking sites. There are plenty rooms with 100$USD or lower for 4 stars in Singapore. Priceline cheated again.
  6. check with the hotel you like first, since many major hotels give deep discount for weekend rate. Would not bid with 3*, since paris 3* = 2* for us standard (room size). check where is the zone you like to stay as mentioned from previous post. However, paris is smaller than you though, transportation (metro) is convenient. Everywhere is near major attractions (except airport & disneyland zones).
  7. avoid Champs-Elysees 4*, it is Concorde La Fayette. Read on tripadvisor before you bid. 161 reviews <50% give 4* or higher & they are underconstruction 9sep/2008) http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews..._de_France.html
  8. Patong is central, but it full of bars & tourists...I would not stay there since Phuket is a beautiful island if you want to enjoy the beaches not the bars & tourits. Stay in Bangkok if you enjoy the city life. Karon/Kata zone is much better, but you need your own transportation, rent a motobike. The north (Laguna) is the luxury zone, it has overpriced hotels & the beach is not as nice as the south. Would not pay more than $50/night for 3* or higher.
  9. As you can see from the picture MarriottMuc4.jpg (from Chris26WI), the TV is quite small from American standard. The swimming pool is small & dark. It was not attractive for me to swim. The services were friendly, but they were understaff (July/2008).
  10. searched for Munich in this forum, followed the same exact bid $68. Got it on the first try. No need to hassle. It saved time & brain power. You have to walk 1 extra block from the subway (U) compare to Renaissance. But I think I would prefer Marriott location than Renaissance (due to construction across Renaissance at this moment). Marriott room are small and noisy, but I can not complain with this price. It is not really "central", it is almost at the end (North) of U6 (subway).
