With taxes and fees of $17.91 added, the total came to $95.91. It doesn't list it on the ad but parking is free. The shuttle will take you anywhere within a five mile radius.
  2. It was listed as $59 a night with these emenities: smoke free fitness center swimming pool restaurants laundry facility high speed internet access golf course nearby It really was a nice hotel.

  4. Crowne Plaza River Oaks 2712 Southest Freeway Houston, Tx 77098 8/26 bids for $45 and $55. No takers. Going rate for those days is $136 per plus tax. Check-in: 3 pm Check-out:12pm Offer $60 2 nights Subtotal $120 Taxes/Fees $28.54 Total Charges: $148.54 Amenities: Self Parking: $8 per night Valet parking: $13 On site fitness center Outdoor pool Restaurant on site No pets. I have stayed here before. The hotel's on access road of Hwy 59. You may want to bring earplugs. It just depends on the floor, and where the room is in the hotel.
  5. Call the hotel directly. When I stayed there earlier this year, it had a pool between the hotel and parking garage. BTW it costs every day to park in the garage. They have no other parking available.
  6. The ammenities shown before purchase were non-smoking hotel, refrigerator/microwave, exercise room, swimming pool, internet, and suite rooms. It turns out to have free assigned parking, and it right off Highway 59.
  7. I tried and tried PRICELINE with no success. I went on HOTWIRE and got a room at the Crowne Plaza near Sugarland on 8/11/2009 for 1 night. It was $72. It is maybe 16 minutes from where I want to run around the next day. Not great in closeness but much cheaper than anything in the area.
  8. I was mentioning in my thread that I made the same bid this time as I had done for my stay on Feb 6-8. I will be in Houston for the arts festival on March 27-29.
  9. I want to be near the university area, and attend the arts festival. On a lark, I entered $50 just like I did for Feb 6-8th. To my surprise, the Marriot property accepted it. :) I stayed here years ago and it was nice then. I hope it's still very nice. Will let you know later.
  10. I stayed here on the weekend of Feb 6 to Feb 8. I bid $50 and it was accepted. Grand total including taxes, and priceline booking fee was $124.95. Parking for 2 days added another $16. The hotel room had been updated. The only problem I had was the noisy people across the hall. The room I had on the 4th floor was more of a business traveler's room. It had a small refrigerator (no freezer compartment), a microwave, and coffee pot. The room had a desk, nice chair, and large tv. It was a king room with additional sofa and coffee table. The end tables, dresser, and microwave table were all granite topped. The vanity is granite topped, and the tub was surrounded by marble.
  11. Is there a link for the home website of La Quinta? Thanks.
  12. I don't know if you know this, but you got the perfect location. The hotel is between fannin and main. It is less than 6 minutes from the museums and even closer to the zoo and museum of natural science. We should all have your success. Bravo! I applaud your bidding savy and congratulations.
