  1. Well the Omni PA is now sold out for almost all of the time we'll be there. We ended up renting a condo just a few yards down the beach in PA. Condos look like a good alternative in this area when Priceline doesn't work out. It's 51 degrees here in Minneapolis right now, but it's only whetting my appetite for tropical weather. I can't wait! On another note, Happy Birthday to BetterBidding!
  2. I'll keep you posted. I'm kicking myself a little bit because the OPA was available on Hotwire a couple of months ago for about $145. It's now about $194. (OPA is the 4.5 * boutique on Hotwire). I'll keep trying, but I'm not interested in paying much more than $150 per night. Maybe the Bahamas...
  3. I had previously bid $105 for a Riviera Maya resort from 2/21 - 3/1, then added Cozumel as a free rebid and went up to $115. I then dropped off the last day and went up to $120 with no success. I'll try again in a few days. I'm really hoping to get the Omni Puerto Aventuras. (AAA rate of 206). The plan is to vacate from 2/15 to 3/1. OPA is sold out from 2/18-21, so we will probably hang out in Cancun or Cozumel for the first week. This is a very optional trip, so if I can't nail down the second week we may just wait until later in the spring.
  4. My previous bid of $95 was rejected. subtotal of $400 plus $67.03 in taxes and fees. Omni's website has a AAA rate of $233. I was hoping to get this hotel, as I'll be attending a convention here for part of my stay. Thanks to TravelGuy for sharing your knowledge, it is very helpful. Also thanks to Thereuare, I appreciate your open and friendly attitude, and your work that makes this a fantastic site.
  5. Priceline beats Hotwire and Orbitz. I had bid $14 for a mid size and was rejected. $16 for full size was accepted. When I first submitted the full size bid, I received a message that it was too low, and was very unlikely to be accepted. I ignored the invitation to increase my bid and it was successful! Total for the three days: $48 + 28.77 taxes and fees = $76.77. Total on Hotwire was about $85, on Orbitz the lowest price was $106 with Dollar.
  6. Another new hotel to add to the list! I had bid up to $70/night for a four star in the Plaza area, with no success. At 3*, my first bid of $50 was declined. Rebid at $55 was accepted. $110 + 22.82 taxes and fees, $132.82 total. This hotel was available for $122/night + tax at Travelocity, $115/night + tax at Orbitz, and an average of $94/night + tax at Radisson's site. The reviews of this hotel that I've seen are not very good. I'll post a review upon my return. Again, I welcome any advice or tips from anyone familiar with New Mexico. Thanks.
  7. New hotel to add to the list! This is a last minute pleasure trip for Labor Day weekend. We've had a cool summer here in Minneapolis, so we're looking forward to some southwestern heat. I was rejected at $31, accepted at $33. $43.32 with taxes and fees. This hotel was listed at $50 plus tax at Travelocity and $89 plus tax at Orbitz. We're heading to Santa Fe after spending the night in Albuquerque, I'll post that separately, as well as our Priceline rental car deal. We've never been to this area, so if anyone has any advice or tips, bring them on! Thanks.
  8. I bought this printer a few months ago, about $85 after rebates. The print quality is very good - it's the best printer I've had at home, but that's not saying much. I've found the reviews to be accurate. And you cant beat this price. I hate paying too much for things!
  9. We decided to stay in DC for another night. Five rebid zones for 4*, Giving me 25 permutations if I wanted them. I started at 65 and bid in $1 increments until I hit at $69. Same price as gleff. Priceline bidding is addictive! And what a good deal. I seriously need to plan another trip for the fall. Thanks, thereuare, this site is fantastic!
  10. First bid. I placed it on 6/21/04 I tried to extend for another day, but no availability. Then I tried to submit a new bid to stay somewhere else the next day, and was rejected as a duplicate bid. I found this site after bidding and I think it's fantastic. I've learned a lot and will continue to visit. Thanks!
