  1. That's what I was also wondering... I will just have to call them I guess. Thanks! Anyone know about the White House?
  2. Thanks! Is it correct that after 9/11, the only way to visit the white house is to contact your member of congress and have a background check? I just read that on wikipedia - is that correct? And do you know how I can get tickets to get inside the Washington Monument? I heard the view from it should be amazing
  3. Does anyone of you know if I can book tickets for the White House and the Washington Monument online?
  4. I have bid 4* 235 Dollars and won the Millenium Broadway in the Times Sq Zone using your PRICELINE links - no huge savings, but the hotel is OK. Thanks for your help!
  5. Oh I see, thanks, bidded up to 70 $ for 4* with no success, guess I'm going to stay with the 45$ Motel 6 - but thanks for your help!
  6. I did that, but there is only results for Flagstaff Sedona, and not Flagstaff itself. Just wondering what this means/indicates?
  7. Hmm... still not sure what to do... I just noticed that there might be a cheap 4* hotel Downtown - but downtown seems to be pretty far away from Times Sq. and the other fun stuff in NYC. Anyone can help?
  8. Thanks! Better: sure; but I don't think any cheaper. The reviews on tripadvisor indicate a pretty decent property, and it's just about 50 Dollars/Night. PRICELINE doesn't offer bidding for Mammoth Lakes, and I'm not sure about bidding for Flagstaff - no hotels reported yet on this board for Flagstaff
  9. I am thinking about either booking the Hilton New York or Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers (near Times-square), Deluxe Rooms are about 300$/Night on Expedia - not cheap, but since I would get a 'random' hotel on priceline for probably about 250$, 50$ more/night give us some kind of security. Anyone of you happen to know if there might be a special good deal about those hotels somewhere on the internet (i.e. cheaper than on Expedia)? Thanks a lot guys!
  10. Oh and one other thing: I also want to book Motel 6 for Flagstaff, AZ and Mammoth Lakes, CA. When I book online, I can see that it's more expensive to select 2 adults in a room than it is to select just 1... so I was wondering if I could just go ahead and book a room with two beds, but only plug in 1 adult (instead of two) and save a few bucks. Does this work or would I get into trouble if they find out?
  11. Hmm okay. I jsut talked to my dad - he would like to be in Santa Barbara (not Goleta or Capinteria). Directly on the beach or at least near the beach is also very important. I saw the Motel 6 on the beach for 120$. I know that's expensive, but that's the first motel 6 ever - so I think that means it is a good one? Anything you can tell me about this one? Also - do you think that for the same price I could get a better hotel/motel on priceline for Santa Barbara?
  12. Hi! I am looking for a hotel/motel in Santa Barbara... I'm not sure if PRICELINE is a good choice for that... alternative would be the motel 6 in carpinteria north for 57$/ south for 64$. Do ypou have any tipps on getting a good value hotel/motel in the area??? (maybe goleta?)
  13. I was just reading the splitting your days thread - do you think splitting would be good in my case?
  14. I'm only bidding for the 8/11 night of my stay, since I won the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach for the night of 8/12. I'm bidding downtown, hollywood and beverly hills now... went up to 120$ last night with no success - seems like I have to bid higher when I bid again tonight...
  15. Yes, it is still rated 4 Stars! This only affects the 2nd leg of my stay... I'm still trying to win a hotel for the first night, bidded up to 120$ last night, but wasn't successful :)
  16. Hi! Just wanted to inform you that I won the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach for 120$ from Aug 12 to Aug 13 (1 night) I used your PRICELINE link!
  17. Just bid up to $230 for 4* in MTE, MTW, Central Park South, and Times Square - no succes :) Since I'm staying from Wed - Sat - is maybe Friday night a problem? Should I try bidding only Wed-Fri, and hope to get the 'add nite' feature (do you ALWAYS get the 'add nite' option?)
  18. I bid for USW and USE, and I won the Omni for 125$ using you PRICELINE link. This one is ranked #1 on tripadvisor, and normal rates for these days is about 200$. Judging from the pictures, I don't quite see why this one is ranked #1 - anyone of you made any experience with the hotel?
  19. Wow, looks like a nice deal... it seems to me that all the good deals are made about 1-3 weeks before the trip starts - is this the case most of the times? So should I wait for a couple more weeks to bid for my trip in August?
  20. Hmmm... tried to win the Westin using your PRICELINE link for the last couple of days... always bid up to 95$ for 4* Downtown - no success :) Should I simply keep on trying or is this a sign that I will have to spend more than the 75-85$ that other users bid to get the hotel? Does the price increase or decrease the closer it gets to the planned arrival date (mid August) Thanks!
  21. Hi! I wanted to take a trip northeast, visiting Philadelphia and Boston. SInce it's the July 4th weekend, I was wondering about if I would have to expect higher prices or if I should only avoid staying at a hotel on July 4th only (so I would leave on Satruday - not Friday then) Thanks!
  22. hmm not sure about USW - the area is fine, but I think USE offers better hotels? I am just going to try every other day to get a hotel for about 80-90 bucks, hope that works. About LA: I am bidding tomorrow, and I will try downtown 4 Stars to get the Westin, just want to show my parents the place we're (most likely) going to get first tomorrow and than I will bid!
  23. Hi! I need to book 2 rooms for NYC, dates see above. It's one room for me and my sister, and one room for my parents. My dad wants to be close to Times Square - so my question is: on priceline, MTE, MTW and Central Park South seem to be pretty close to the Times Square Zone - how far are those away? I guess a 20 Minute walk would still be ok for my dad! My limit would be 150$, and I've seen a couple of people here getting a 4* hotel for 120$/nights - since my stay is from Wednesday till Saturday - what do you think my chances are?
  24. I just used your PRICELINE link and bid up to 92$ for USE - no success yet. Should I wait until tomorrow and try again starting at 85$? Or does this not make any difference? Just wondering if maybe it's more expensive since it's Fr-Su?
