  4. Used the PRICELINE link on this site to book this Express Deals. $84 per night, plus 10% off Black Friday Coupon Code. Attempted at Bidding, but the price didn't warrant bidding since one zone had Resort Fee of ~US$29 per night. So there was a risk of total price being considerably higher. Listed Amenities: Free Internet Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Restaurant Swimming Pool
  5. Used the PRICELINE link on this site to bid on a hotel for our upcoming trip to London, UK. Bid for a 5* and landed the Eccleston Square Hotel. Reviews are very positive and looking forward to it. Happy Bidding!
  6. God damn it!!! Used the PRICELINE link on this board to attempt at bidding. I placed bids over the weekend for a 5 Star hotel in Melbourne CBD starting at US$75 with $3 increments up to $108 with no luck. Attempted to try again today, but decided to start at $90 with $2 increments up to $112. However, on the first try at $90, I landed the Hotel Windsor. Damn it...wondering what I would've gotten had I started at a lower bid price! Regardless, I'm still very happy with this win. My bid strategy was to select 5 Star in Zones 1, then 2, and increasing bid amounts as I choose additional zones, but to avoid Zone 13 (the other zone with 5 star, but quite a ways away from CBD). Happy Bidding!!!

  10. Used the PRICELINE link on this site and landed the Bonaventure before embarking on a cruise on March 27. Looked at Express Deal and saw a 4 Star for $91 which gave me a starting point.
  11. Used the Priceline link on this site and landed the Walt Disney World Dolphin for $84++ per night. Hoping the Dolphin is better than the Swan which gets some pretty negative reviews.
  12. Used the Hotwire link on this site. Was hoping to land the SLS (as other buddies are staying there too) and landed it. Amenities are as listed above. Made it easier to guess it was the SLS since the other 4 star North Strip is Treasure Island and currently listing Standard Rate at $119/night. Further, SLS Standard Rate listed at $80/ night, and Hot Rate advertised 4 Star North Strip, 32% off, which works out to exactly $54. Thanks!
  13. Hi need help identifying this hotel. Hotwire Hot Rate - 32% off. Jan 29 to Feb 2 (2 rooms x 4 nights) - $54 per night plus resort fee of about $28.00 per night to be charged by hotel. 65% Recommended. Amenities include: Complimentary Free Internet;Resort;Casino;Pool(s);Restaurants;Business Center;Golf nearby;Wondering if this is the SLS. Hotwire Standard Rate is listing SLS at $80 per night, which at $54 is exactly 32% off. I need to book the SLS and not wanting to get stuck with Treasure Island. Thanks!

  17. Got the 3* Best Western Plus Heritage Inn for $52 ++ per night via PRICELINE link here. Taxes & fees = $8.05/night. Started bid @ $50 for a 3* in Great Falls, MT with no success. Priceline then gave a "limited time" offer to increase bid by $9. Disregarded offer to increase bid and added Conrad, MT (highest is 2*) to bid zone @ $52 and landed with this property. Thanks!
  18. Started my 3* bid @ $75 for the French Quarter and re-bid @ $80 with Downtown New Orleans and landed this property. Tried bidding up to $115 for 4*s, then 3.5*s before going down to 3*s. As mentioned in my previous post, hotel rates seem quite high from what I've seen. So I called the Marriott earlier and inquired about why hotels rates are so high during this time, and was informed that there are 18 conferences/events in town that week. Used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  19. Not sure what happened before, but will post a reply instead. Started bidding at $70 (+ $5 Priceline Bonus Cash at every bid) as follows: - Zone 3 French Quarter $ 70 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $75 - Zone 2 Downtown New Orleans $ 75 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $80 - Zone 4 Garden District $ 80 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $85 - Zone 5 Metairie - Harahan $ 85 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $90 - Zone 6 New Orleans Airport $ 90 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $95 - Zone 7 New Orleans East $ 95 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $100 - Zone 8 New Orleans West Bank $100 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Total Bid Price of $105 Hotel rates seem quite high from what I've seen. 20. Got this 4* hotel for $100 ($100 + $5 Priceline Bonus Cash) on my last bid for a 4* property. Started bidding at $70 (+ $5 Priceline Bonus Cash at every bid) as follows: - $70 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $75 Zone 3 French Quarter - $75 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $80 Zone 2 Downtown New Orleans - $80 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $85 Zone 4 Garden District - $85 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $90 Zone 5 Metarie - Harahan - $90 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $95 Zone 6 New Orleans Airport - $95 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $100 Zone 7 New Orleans East - $100 + $5 (PL Bonus Cash) = Bid Price of $105 Zone 8 New Orleans West Bank
  21. Thanks for the info. Tried bidding up to $150 according to the strategy to no avail. Is it possible that it may still be early? Will inventory be taken up and prices continue to increase as we get closer? Will keep trying every so often and will keep the Board posted! Thanks!
  22. At this time, I would be willing to bid up to a ceiling $150 per night plus taxes and fees (which I assume is around 20%-22%). So all in about $1,000 to $1,100. Thanks!
  23. Yes, please include this zone, and I will bid up to the price I'm comfortable with. Will consider increasing my bid price. Thanks!
  24. Please include the zones you will accept as opposed to the one that you will not. The zones I will accept are, Chelsea Area, Downtown Financial District, Empire State Building (ESB), Hell's Kitchen, Lower East Side (LES), Madison Square Garden (MSG), Midtown East/West (MTE/MTW), SohoTribeca, Times Square (TS). Also, a 10-15 minute walk to/from Subway is okay. I'm unsure about the Queensborough Bridge area though, and also likely not Central Park South at the risk of getting the Hudson Hotel. Any thoughts about Queensborough? Did you want to first bid for a 3* up to your limit, then if rejected try for a 2.5* property? Preferably, but I've tried bidding 3* up to $110 to no avail??? Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Yes, but would only split once, as I don't want to spend much time swtiching hotels. At what hotel is your back-up reservation? Fairfield Inn & Suites East Rutherford Meadowlands (850 Paterson Plank Road). I understand commute is about 15-40 minutes each way. The total approx. hotel cost with taxes & fees is $545. After factoring in daily commute into NYC (at $4.25 one way), additional commute cost come to about $127. Therefore, total estimated cost to stay in East Rutherford is about $700. Therefore, budgeting around $130-$150 per night is my preference, and will give some premium to not commuting. Thanks for all your help!!!
  25. As cheap as possible, but likely be probably $130 all-in? Is that way out to lunch you think? I think I can better gauge what my budget is if I know what the going range is. If more than that, I think it might be worth the commute. I understand that the commuute is between 15min to 45 mins from Eastr Rutherford. Thanks!
