  1. Started bid at 38 as my previous win. Increased to 40, and added Wilmington North. Increased to 43 and added Wilmington South. Dropped off a day and increased to 45. Quite honestly had hoped for the Homestead partly because they have parking for larger vehicles, but will make this one work. PRICELINE link on home page.
  2. Wow. Very good for you for following through with this. I would have been furious. Heck, at my recent 1* stay in the city, I had a brand new queen bed and there was a sofa bed too! Thank you from a fellow traveler.
  3. Same winning priceline bid as last week, just passing back through. Updated prior post with room information. PRICELINE link on home page.
  4. Slight update: This property is being refurbished. All new furniture, beds, paint, etc. Unfortunately they have removed the dishwashers. This is going to be called an Extended Stay America soon. Same parent family, just different brand. The Studio Plus properties were universally worn down, so this is sort of good news. There is still no elevator, so you need to be traveling light or be prepared to drag whatever up and down the stairwells. I have to assume this will soon go to a 2 star property. Good for them, but not so great for those of us who like to know what property we are getting. There is a 2 star ESA in this bidding zone already that does have an elevator. I imagine soon you will not be able to know which one of these you will be winning. Unfortunately, that will make this zone useless for me the majority of the time.
  5. Worked my way through the Philadelphia Suburbs areas starting at 35 and increasing by $2-3 each time I added an area. I had Pottstown, Malvern, Valley Forge and Plymouth Meeting included by the time this one was accepted. This is a new property for the hotel list. Used the PRICELINE link on the homepage.
  6. Nice place. Nice rooms. Nice jacuzzi. Very nice breakfast. Won on first bid, following my previous wins for this place at same price. Only problem is I like to do cash deposits and not tie up my cards since I travel so much and need them for millions of things. They are always sort of rude about cash deposits, but it does seem to be the vegas custom at many places. Parking can be difficult for trailers, extra long vehicles, etc. PRICELINE link on home page. Hmmm, this should have said the airport zone, I swear I clicked the right button. sorry. Hotel is on St Rose Parkway.
  7. Just needed to add one night and unable to extend where I was. Will NEVER use priceline bids in this particular area again however. What is up with a $10 resort fee in a dump like this? The fee covered "free long distance", in case you are the last person without a cell phone. "free local paper", "free internet" and "free pool". It should be noted that the pool is the lame type pool you could find at a Day's Inn, or a Ramada, or even a better Motel 6. The internet would not work in my room until 1:30 am which means I had repairmen in my room with me from 9pm to 1:30 am. After extensive complaints, they did take $2 off my resort fee for that "minor" inconvenience. If you do find yourself here, skip the buffet, drive anyplace else. It is a shame other 2.5 star hotels get lumped in with this place. Never again for Henderson. PRICELINE link on hiomepage.
  8. Adequate place for one night. Loads of room. PLenty of table/desk/counter space. Complete kitchen, oven, dishwasher the works. However likely not in good upkeep, have stayed here before so knew what I was getting. won on first bid. I do feel 75% sure that it could be had for $27, but since this was same day didn't want to chance. PRICELINE link on homepage.
  9. Excellent, just what I was wanting. Won on first bid, have received this at same price in previous years. PRICELINE link on home page. This needs to be added to the hotel list. It doesn't say so on my winning bid notice, but I think the area is Fulton County then Gwinett-Duluth.
  10. Tried $30 initially but not accepted. Really was aiming for the StudioPlus, but you take your chances. This is a new one for the hotel list. Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) 702 North Sam Houston Parkway East Houston, TX 77060 As anyone who travels knows, you don't really want America's Best Value, and this one lived up to it's reputation. enough said. PRICELINE link at top of the page.
  11. The Ft Leonard Wood/Saint Robert area is 80 miles from Springfield. The Rolla area is 110 miles from Springfield. Just mentioning since anyone looking for Rolla posts will be unlikely to open a Springfield post.
  12. New one to add to list. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $37.00 Subtotal: $259.00 Taxes & Fees: $45.92 Total Charges*: $304.92 Springfield Northwest 3125 North Kentwood Avenue Springfield, Missouri 65803 417-833-1500 Less than excited, it is what it is. Even less excited when on their own website it says rooms starting at 39. Gee, that would make this a real bargain! However when I put in the exact dates, the lowest I can seem to get is $42. That would be a whole 12% discount. (Before you take into account the priceline fees) Unless this place turns out to be unlike other Microtels and amazing, the lesson here is to not bid on 2 star properties in the NW and not to select All Areas. Yes, I was hoping for the LaQuinta. Oh well. At least this will save others from similar "wins". A shame for the LaQuintas who seem to be really improving their properties. used PRICELINE link I'll be investigating all low priced options in the area over this next year as I will need to be in the Ft Leonard Wood area. I'll post my attempts in that area in a seperate post. Other Springfield attempts. 3* failed at 41 in all areas 2.5* failed at 41 in all areas
  13. Attempts for the Rolla MO and Ft Leonard Wood area, 6-8-11/6-15-11 Made some attempts directly with Saint Roberts area for up to 45 and at 2 star for variations of similar dates. Moved on to Rolla area. 2.5 star failed up to $43 including areas of Cuba, Dixon, St James, Rolla and St Robert 2 star failed up to $43 including all the same areas, started again as a fresh series of bids moved on to Springfield area, "won" bid there. used PRICELINE link from home page
  14. Basically adding extra nights, but needed to use a new bid. used PRICELINE link from home page.
  15. An extra room for additional guest. used PRICELINE link from home page. exactly what I was hoping for since I need to shuttle everyone.
  16. I have been receiving this property quite frequently in the last month at this rate. It is an adequate property with a decent continental breakfast, generally with eggs and sausage as well. Cleaning standards in rooms could improve, but extremely convenient to the base here. used PRICELINE link from front page. NOTE: this property is not listed in the hotel list. The Jameson Inn that I have posted about before is not mentioned either.
  17. Extended Stay America- Edenvale 6911 San Ignacious San Jose Tried bids beginning at $28, 29, and 30. At $30 received counteroffer to raise by $7. Changed end date by a day and upped to $31. I don't seem to have any luck with over 6 days with ESA properties. Would have been willing to book up to 10 days out in this case. This is a very basic ESA property and is on their low 1* end, if you ask me. It shares a parking lot with the ESA Deluxe, obviously nicer. Further cheapened by using only their non-renovated rooms for priceline. Honestly, the only thing it has going for it is the price. However, since I use the kitchen and have more supplies with me than most travelers, it works for me. If I had flown in without my supplies, even I would just say no. Most irritating thing is the front desk's seeming inability to handle incoming mail and fedex. The grocery, office supply and Sweet Tomatoes in easy walking distance help make up for it. Used PRICELINE link from front page.

  19. Three seperate bids placed at different times. However, it didn't seem to merit taking the room for 3 seperate posts. 20. Not sure if I used the home page link this time, was booking quickly from a parking lot due to last minute change in plans. This was the property I had in mind, so it seemed to work. However, this stay was full of issues. Internet wouldn't work for 20 hours, finally was able to switch rooms. New room had a lamp that stayed on 24 hours, no appropriate wall switch or toggle on lamp. Maintanence fixed it, but 2 days later. Sink had no drainer/stopper to allow you to fill sink with water...took 2 days to get one. The phone line will not cooperate with my credit card machine which just needs to dial out on a toll free line. Switching properties. I really don't remember having all these issues before, or I wouldn't have purposely tried to book this particular one. I'll be in this area for probably the next couple weeks, so it would have been nice to have stayed put here. Now that I am complaining, the tv has a volume control on it that limits the volume so you need to be sitting near it. Give me a break.
  21. Tried Berkley-Emeryville 2* $30....added Concord-Layfayette 2* $30...added Hayward-Castro Valley 2* $30 This is a new property for the hotel lists. Used PRICELINE link from home page.
  22. Sorry, posting this late. Got busy and forgot. This is a new hotel for this area, so you'll want to add it to the listings. I was really hoping for one of the ESA properties since I use the kitchen space, however for most people this is better. Convenient to 84, large room with partitioned living area with decent sofabed and coffee table. Making due with a mini-fridge and microwave. On the up side, more space, indoor pool, spa, sauna, work out room, complimentary breakfast and free wireless. Tried 27 in Gresham and Tigard, counter-offered to increase $6. Changed dates slightly and tried 29, then tried 30. 30 did it. Good grief, I must really be out of practice. Forgot to add the 2* in the title.
