  1. Picked up Express Deal on Priceline for Dallas Downtown 3.5* for $77/night for Oct. 21. Since it said bed choices on the description, I thought I was eliminating the question of getting only one bed when we need two in the room. When the Booking information came up, the bed choice was listed as $77 for no Choice, and $109 or $119 for choosing King or 2 Queens. Disappointing since our budget did not allow for more than $100. I guess we will call the hotel closer to the date and ask about getting a room with 2 beds or bed and sofa bed. Wish us luck! We ended up with the Crowne Plaza when my educated guess was either Hotel Indigo or Hilton Garden Inn. We;ll make the best of it. It still beats paying regular rates. Thanks, LuAnn in Wisconsin
  2. Would be nice to get this one identified - initially looked at French Qtr but with St. Pats day, slim picking and most don't have free internet. Wish parking was listed as an amenity. 4* Downtown New Orleans Listed at $119 for a $219 value with a 90% rating (3 adults staying - so figure it should be 2 beds, right?) Free internet Restaurant Pet Friendly Business Center Fitness Center Pool Thanks for your help! LuAnn in WI
  3. Thanks for the clues to getting 2 beds. When I did that in Hotwire, it eliminated any of the affordable better rated hotels. I need to check my miles and hotel awards and see if I can find something that way. Thanks again, LuAnn
  4. Looking at May 25-28 to stay near ATT Park for a game on Sunday and then do the tourist attractions on Sunday and Monday. I know it is a holiday weekend. This one in Union Square West for $117 shows free breakfast, smoke free room, restaurant and high speed internet. And 95% hotwire customer approval. Any idea? Or do you recommend I look in a different area to save money. We will need two beds - I am traveling with my brother - is that a problem to request? Thanks! LuAnn in Wisconsin
  5. Back from vacation and catching up on email. I double checked the amenities - Amenities for InnSuites Tempe. Suite Airport Shuttle Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby The InnSuites was full when we stayed. We had to wait to get a first floor room in the back - worth the wait because of no elevator. One night there were kids running amok at 11:30 at night - I don't know where the parents were. The breakfast was actually surprisingly good with scrambled eggs with peppers, sausages, fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal and 3 waffle makers. And you got 2 free drinks at happy hour but I don't think they were counting:) Yes, indeed, there was a Gentlemans Club next door with the Ramada. But the rest of the neighborhood is normal with other name hotels and across from a giant mall. Note: I can read upside down and the desk clerk had a paper with reservations from Priceline that were being honored at $50. That would have been a real bargain!
  6. I forgot to post that the rate was $74 that I got for the Sheraton. It was very nice and the shuttle runs 24/7 so we were able to take advantage of that at 5:30 in am. Cab to airport would have been around $45. Thanks to better bidding!
  7. I ended up with 3.5* Sheraton for 3/22/12 with same amenities. Again, either Sheraton or Hilton are a good score. Thanks to Better Bidding! Airport Shuttle <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Pool(s) Property offers at least one pool area; hours and dates of operation may be seasonal. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-Speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
  8. Suite, Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s). Reviews are mixed but it will be close to family.
  9. Sorry to not have used bb link for searching - my bad. Now the one that was $77 is listed at $75 with those amenities. It is a condo with the extra resort fee. There is now another listing in North Scottsdale for $81 - 3.5 star that is a hotel and would save us the resort fee. It shows resort, fitness, business ctr, internet, pool, restaurant, laundry and tennis/golf nearby. Third consideration is Tempe/ASU - for $76 - 2.5 star with Suite, Airport Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool(s). That is closer to friends in the area. Thanks for your help!
  10. Looks awesome for $77/night for March 17 - 23 - shows resort, fitness, business ctr,internet,1 bdrm suite, pool, fully equiped kitchen, restaurant, laundry and tennis/golf nearby. 85% approval rate. Any ideas? Thanks!!
  11. Since the Dells has become the WaterPark Capitol of the world, there is not much of an off season. Even Motel 6 is over $50 in the off season. The old attractions are still there but many folks just stay at their hotel and play in the waterpark. The best deal is the WinterGreen resort when they include the Mt. Olympus Waterpark and amusement park passes. Mt. Olympus is huge with indoor and outdoor waterpark and rides including roller coasters and go karts. I live in Madison, and there aren't many cheap hotel deals here. East Towne Suites is decent - on Hotwire and about 45 minutes from the Dells. The catch is that if you add waterpark passes at $25-$30 each, the prices in the Dells may not be that bad, IF you have kids that want to be in the waterpark, With no kids, I would still recommend the Wintergreen. Or split your time between the Dells and Madison - In Madison, we have a new amazing Childrens museum and a free zoo that has a carousel and kids area - next year a petting zoo will return in a barn exhibit. We are planning ahead for a family reunion in August 2011 and got a good group rate at Great Wolf but only because we have 6 rooms and a meeting room planned. I have stayed at the Kalahari for a conference - lots of walking there and food is premium priced on top of the high rates. Good luck to all.
  12. Thanks for help on Capital and Dupont Circle identity. If I could ask your assistance again, please. Plans have changed to try to stay near a friend at school in Georgetown. Interested in the listing there for a 3* with fitness, restaurant, internet, laundry, business center and pool icons for the weekend of the 4th ( 3rd - 7th) at $99. Rooms are getting scarce with the big holiday doings. Thanks again, LuAnn
  13. Looking at 3.5 * Capital Hill with restaurant, fitness and internet for July 3 - 7 - any ideas? We know with the Tiger tournament and Independence Day festivities we need to act soon. Your advise is much appreciated. Will also consider 4* in Dupont Circle for $119 it lists fitness, pool, restaurant, bus. center and internet. Thanks much LuAnn
  14. Double checked - no Boutique icon. Thanks, LuAnn
  15. I booked it through your HOTWIRE link - it is the Omni Majestic - Score! Nice treat for my brother and wife to stay upscale instead of Super 8! Thanks, LuAnn
  16. Sorry for the incomplete description. This morning the 4* has been relisted at $64/night with fitness, restaurant, internet and buniness center. No Boutique symbol. I am going to reserve it before it is gone. Will let you know result. Thanks again, LuAnn
  17. Thanks for checking into it. I was using the 2 adults no kids. Hmmm.... now the "upscale" 4* is $136/night. Darn. It now shows a Boutique icon. There is now a 3.5* star for $89. "Customer favorite" "distinctive establishment". What do you think that is? And maybe I better take it before all the Downtown rooms are gone. Unless you think that more will open up closer to 4/27? I am unclear when you say 4.5/5.0 Tripadvisor rating. I don't see more than one number assigned to a hotel. This is on HOTWIRE - I haven't tried PRICELINE. Thanks bunches! LuAnn
  18. Just checked again for those dates, still a 4* "upscale...." and I don't see another icon besides the 4 Fitness center, business center, restaurant and internet. They list Omni as one of the typical hotels, could it be? Thanks much LuAnn
  19. Okay, I forgot that part. It is for April 27 - May 1 for DT St. Louis. "This upscale establishment offers thoughtful features, quality rooms and a high level of service" with the fitness, business, restaurant and internet icons. Thanks!! LuAnn
  20. How about this one "This upscale establishment offers thoughtful features, quality rooms and a high level of service" with the fitness, business, restaurant and internet icons. Hoping to help brother book nice place for a 4 night stay end of April. He doesn't have a computer!! With unknown parking charges, $64 would still be great and affordable. Thanks! LuAnn in Wisconsin
