There is NO Holiday Inn in Downtown Jacksonville. The Crowne Plaza, Omni and Hyatt are all 3.5* on PL. The Radisson Riverwalk is a 3*. There is also a brand new Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn (most likely 3*'s each) that just opened in priceline's DT zone. Only the Hyatt and Omni are on the north side of the river. Everything else I mention is on the south side of the river. With priceline there is no way to guarantee which side of the river you will get. There is a very scarey Super 8 that is also DT and I would guess that's the 2* you see on HW. The Homewood and Hilton are also on the edge of a bad neighborhood (IMO) and I personally wouldn't bid for anything but a 3.5* in Downtown Jacksonville.
maybe you'll get upgraded into a suite like when I have stayed there......

the fairly new Comfort Suites on Western Way would also fit the bill.
your dates are also when the Gator Bowl will be in town so prices will be (most likely) going up between now and then. The teams won't be announced until the end of November...
There are also Corporate Revenue Managers who can have multiple hotels (same and or different brands) to control in one city/area or even a state/region.

FYI - at a Candlewood suites you more than likely would have received a studio suite and not a suite with a seperate bedroom/living room. The majority of rooms at a Candlewood are the studio suite which is just a room with a full kitchen.
