  1. Can anyone please help me identify this 3* hotel in Wichita (Mid-Continent Airport) for 1 adult and 3 children and checking in on July 19th for 1 night?

    The amenities are:

    Smoke Free Rooms

    Airport Shuttle

    Complimentary Breakfast

    Fitness Center

    Pool(s)

    Restaurant(s)

    Business Center

    Laundry Facilities

    High-speed Internet Access

    Thanks for your help!

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the price is $75.

  2. Amenities listed are:

    Breakfast

    Fitness Center

    Pool

    Business Center

    High-Speed Internet Access

The lowest rate on the hotel's website was $142.

It should be noted that this hotel used to be the 2.5* Amerisuites that I won last summer. I will be interested to see if they did away with the suite amenities that were part of the rooms when I was last there.

  3. Although it is early, I was doing a little bit of research on Country Inns in the area. After checking out what was available and then cross-checking with the BetterBidding list, I knew that I had hit the jackpot.

    Amenities listed are:

    Breakfast

    Fitness

    Pool

    Restaurant

    Laundry

The cheapest rate on their website is $120 per night. This is the nicest Country Inn near the downtown St. Paul area and I was going to settle for a cheaper one to save a few bucks. Instead, because of this database, I saved a whole lotta bucks.

    Thanks!

  4. This hotel is conveniently located off I-35W. Check-in was pleasant enough, but when given directions to my room, they were a little murky. I was told to drive around to the back of the building and that there would be elevators to the right of the door. We walked around and ended up back at the front desk. After taking a different set of elevators to our floor, we were able to figure out which elevator to take back to our car and realized that it was hidden through the game room.

The room was nice and spacious. It was tastefully furnished and we had a view of the atrium that housed the pool. When our window was open, we could hear all of the activity going on around the pool, but the noise was stifled when our window was closed. The bathroom was also ample sized and contained the standard amenities.

There is a Green Mill restaurant located in the hotel and I thought that the food was pretty good. This Holiday Inn also offers the "Kids Eat Free" deal.

A few notes of caution-the pool was small and FREEZING! I could not stand to be in the pool and felt that it almost bordered on unusable. The hottub is also tiny and is separated from the pool. If you wanted to go from the pool to the hot tub, you had to walk through the gated fence that surrounds the pool area and go through another gate that leads to the hot tub. There is also a half-wall that blocks the view to the pool, so this made it very inconvenient for me to keep an eye on my children. I am sure that there was a reason to build the pool and hot tub separate, but it's not family-friendly.

The pool area is really the only complaint that I had about the hotel, but it was the deal breaker. My kids live for hotel pools, and when they are a disappointment, it can put a damper on the whole stay. I will do my best to avoid this hotel in the future.

  5. This hotel is situated off the freeway in an area surrounded by other hotels, many restaurants and some big box retailers. The neighborhood is pleasant and easy to navigate around.

Our check-in was fast and pleasant and our request for a non-smoking double was met. Our room was nicely decorated and included the basic amenities of bath products, in-room coffee, iron and hair dryer.

The pool area is nice and includes an ample sized hot tub.

The free breakfast was standard continental fare, but filled us up.

I have no complaints about this hotel and felt that it was worth what we had paid.

  6. This hotel is located Near Strip West. Transportation to the Strip is provided in the form of a shuttle bus that runs to their other properties-The Barbary Coast and The Sun Coast.

The Orleans offers free valet parking, but there are also huge lots for self parking. There is a big parking garage, but I don't know if there is a fee involved, as we did not use it.

Check-in was fast and friendly. Our request for a non-smoking room with two beds was met without a hassle. The room was outstanding with a sitting area, spacious bathroom and desk. The room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Complementary toiletries were restocked daily. Internet service was available for a charge of $10 per day.

The Orleans has many security guards present in the casino and the parking lot. There is also a security guard posted at the elevators leading to the hotel rooms who asks to see a room key before allowing you to proceed.

The hotel has two outdoor pools (one large pool and one kiddie pool) and an outdoor hot tub. There is a lifegaurd on duty as well as a concession area that stocked the towels as well as things for purchase such as sunscreen and cabana rental. You could order room service to be delivered pool side. For non-gaming entertainment, there is a video arcade, a movie theater and a bowling alley. The casino also offers child care at a cost of around $6 per hour.

There are many food and drink choices at the Orleans. You could choose from Subway, Terrible Mike's (hamburgers and the like), an Italian restaurant very similar to Macaroni Grill, Koji (Sushi bar and Chinese), Seattle's Best Coffee, a steak house, an oyster bar and a huge buffet restaurant-just to name a few. There are also 3-4 bars spread around the casino.

The two big shows that they were advertising were for comedian Steven Wright and singer Neil Sedeka. Not major headliners, but it could be fun.

I thought that this hotel was a great find and would not mind staying here again in the future.

  7. Amenities listed are:

    Casino

    Restaurant

    Pool

    Fitness Center

    Spa Services

    Children's Activity Program

    Business Center

Not much of a deal because I could have booked the hotel directly for $60 per night, but Expedia is quoting a rate of $73 per night.

This hotel has received excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.com, so I am hoping for a great experience. If anyone has stayed here, I would appreciate any tips. My husband and I will be traveling with our three children. We plan on seeing the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead.

  8. This hotel is right off I-25. It is located next door to a Village Inn and Outback Steakhouse. The inside of the hotel is clean and tastefully decorated. The clerk was courteous and friendly. Later in the evening, a different clerk let me take a milk from the breakfast bar when I was not able to find a vending machine that sold milk or juice for my young daughter. The room was clean and included soaps, shampoo, coffee, iron and hairdryer. The only complaint that I have about the room is that the beds looked small. They serve a standard continental breakfast in the morning in the lobby. Of all the hotels that I have stayed in, this one was probably the cleanest and most certainly worth the $38 I paid.
