  1. Using the PRICELINE link here, I bid $35 for a 3.5* hotel in both zones (columbus north and worthigton, polaris, etc.). I probably should have tried one zone at a time, but I was in a hurry and was pretty sure I'd get either the Crowne Plaza in Columbus North or the Sheraton Suites in the Worthington, etc. zone. I stay in this area several times per year and I don't think I have ever stayed in the same hotel twice in a row; it's back and forth between the Sheraton and the Crowne Plaza. I prefer the Sheraton when the wife and kid are with me and the Crowne plaza when it's only one or two of us.
  2. One bid, one area, $35. With taxes and fees = $48.02. This is a nice place. We've stayed here several times.
  3. Vozbell, you were lucky in room appointment. Once, while using the PRICELINE link on this site, I booked a stay here. I have no idea how they can possibly rate this declining facility a 3*. It is a 2* AT BEST! All I can say is, don't select a 3* hotel in this area from Priceline. It could be your misfortune to stay here. It's better than the cockroach in but there are much better deals out there for the same money. It is NOT a 3*
  4. Using the PRICELINE link from this site, I bid $35 for a 3.5* hotel in Columbus North. After reading the previous poster's success and having stayed there numerous times, I was hoping for the Sheraton Suites. I love that place and the area it's in but I was awarded the Crowne Plaza. It's a very nice place as well. It seems I bounce back and forth between these two hotels. However, since this is an anniversary trip, I was hoping for the Sheraton location for the nearby movies, restaurants, etc. Any tips for making an anniversary special at the Crowne Plaza or in Columbus, OH?
  5. 3* 02/13/09 My initial bid of 35.00 was not accepted but I was offered immediate rebid by adding $9 and I did. Got it for $44.00 ($57.24 with taxes and fees). It's not the place I wanted but it is the one I expected. I guess I can drive 2 more miles to save $40.00. This is a very nice facility, it's just not as close to where I want to go.
  6. Just booked another night by using the PRICELINE link here. I tried for 3* in Columbus North. First bid of $35 was accepted and upgraded to the 3.5* in the Sheraton Suites. It's a little farther than we want to drive but when the Days Inn Fairgrounds is $65, I'll drive the 15 minutes to stay at the Sheraton for $48.10 with taxes and fees.
  7. I tried 3* Columbus North for $30 and was offered a $8.00 rebid. I used the free rebid including the University Area and raised the bid to $35.00. Like the previous poster did, I was hoping for the Crowne Plaza as it is 5 miles closer to the fairgrounds but I'm sure the Sheraton will be fine, especially for the price. $35 per night (48.10 total) is $15 cheaper than the Days Inn Fairgrounds. For the difference, I can drive and I will certainly have a more restful sleep. I'm not sure why I want a nice hotel, all we need is a bed. We'll get to the room about 10pm and leave by 6:30 am.
  8. Sorry about that. My computer's hard drive failed the first of March and I lost the url bookmark of this site (and all my favorites). From Hotwire: 3.5-star hotel in Columbus North Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby
  9. Did you book the stay, and if so, what was the hotel? I am looking at staying in the same area this weekend and there are only two hotels listed. One is the 3* (assumed to be Holiday Inn) at $89 per night The other is a 2* (unknown) at $49 per night Any ideas?
  10. Booked 2 nights 3/14 - 3/16 at $59 for a total of $142.03 at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North. Ohio Beef Expo weekend. This is the location of the Frozen Gold Sale on 3/14 The title is wrong. Actually, this is a 3.5*
