  1. TY for the strategy...got all the way up to 90.00 with no bites...had decided in my head at that point I preferred to win THEhotel at Mandalay bay, so I jumped on the HOTWIRE offer mentioned above, although the price had jumped from 93 to 100...still happy with the win...clicked thru your HOTWIRE link to book :P
  2. I Have only ever bid on Priceline for the highest star hotel.. So my question on the rebid zones is ...you can only use rebid zones with same or lower star level , correct?..
  3. well, the 4* on LMT is no longer there...I am open to bidding on PRICELINE for a 4.5* strip south. It looks as tho there are 2 reported hotels on list, THE hotel @ Mandalay bay & Elara, both of which would suit our needs. I do realize there could be another 4.5* on strip south that may accept offer & is unreported to this site, but thats part of the risk.. ;) the 4.5* 94.00 offer is still there on HOTWIRE, but do you think we can do better bidding on PRICELINE? if so, can you supply a bidding strategy?..lets go with max of maybe 80.00 UNLESS you think thats too low. Just trying to beat the 94.00 HOTWIRE offer & if Im bidding, why not try & make it worth it? thanx!!
  4. TY...i might jump on that, but also wondering...I have tried BEAV's tool for identifying hotels on last minute travel, & come up with the 4* Tropicana for 71.00 (room & taxes) - does anyone know if the whole hotel is newly renovated (all guest rooms) or could we be stuck in an older unremodeled room :o also, if we decide to possibly book something on LMT, is there a link on this web site to benefit this site? thanx again
  5. need to find a room for 1 night as we fly home next morning out of vegas airport...can anyone help identify this hotel on HOTWIRE? 4.5* strip south 94.00 95% recommend free parking resort spa services pet friendly casino fitness center pool(s) restaurant(s) business center high speed internet golf nearby tennis nearby accessible path of travel in room accessibility accessible bathroom handicap parking roll in shower resort fee approx 25.00 thanx!!
  6. Thank you everyone for your input/help....went ahead & jumped on the above mentioned Hotwire offer & it was the Trump...clicked thru your HOTWIRE link...for 88.00 p/n its really hard to beat that price...I actually stayed in this hotel for 1 nite a few years back...we ended up switching hotels because I didnt want to sleep on the pull out couch more than 1 nite (i went with my aunt). We moved to the Bellagio & I remember really liking the Trump better!!...The only downfall was the sleeping arrangements...This time going with hubby...king bed will be awesome & if we need a vegas strip "fix" we can take the shuttle they offer or just walk ...I do agree the bad reviews are the cranky ones with nothing better to do than complain about piddly issues, or want the glitz of the casino etc right there.. If they let us waive the resort fee then thats fine...if not...oh well...1 question...will the use of the pool fall under resort fee? Im thinking yes, if so Ill only ask to waive the resort fee for the 1st nite.. B)
  7. yes... you are right...amended list below 5* the strip north area 10/13 2 nights 88.00 - 90% recommend free parking resort spa services pet friendly smoke free fitness center pool(s) restaurant(s) business center high speed internet golf nearby tennis nearby kitchenette resort fee approx 25.00 that is why i couldnt match it with the "hotel list" on this site...now my guess is the Trump, agreed?...hesitant as the reviews seem not so great....havent stayed in any of the 4* hotels on the strip in the few times I have been...anyone know if they are nice?...Im figuring they cant be that bad, just not the luxury of the 5*???
  8. so is it safe to assume the "resort" fees are only on 5* properties?...maybe we could opt for a 4* south strip...but I just looked on Hotwire...can u identify this property?...seems like a great price even w/ the resort fee... 5* the strip north area 10/13 2 nights 88.00 - 90% recommend free parking resort spa services pet friendly smoke free fitness center pool(s) restaurant(s) business center resort fee approx 25.00
  9. Done...thought i was clear on what we decided to do with Providence trip...sorry...
  10. we had no "bites" on this, so we did decide to postpone to the later date as mentioned!!.....will post a win on this if we go at some point at a later date!!
  11. one thought...I would like to avoid the resort fees?...are those added on to all hotels in vegas, or only the 5*?....also typically how much are these "resort" fees?? Thanx!!
  12. Hi... would like to know if you can supply a bidding strategy for Las Vegas 5* strip....is there a big reason people opt for N vs S strip or vise versa??...is it just basically because they might want a particular property? Is S strip usually a cheaper win?... I am not that fussy about what we win for a 5* ...it can be strip N or S...it is basically just a quick starting point for us as we are flying into vegas & then renting a car & heading out to Utah for national parks excursion... so that being said a bidding strategy for Oct 13 for 2 nights would be appreciated, & also will need to bid another stay for 1 night Oct 23 to stay as we fly home the next morning...ultimately I would prefer to stay UNDER 100.00, do you think this is possible? I can also adjust the $$ amounts on my own in the strategy if need be... thank you very much!!! :D
  13. Thanx for the strategy!!...no bites...my thoughts are its "summer" busy time, & we are willing to take our last minute trip at a later date when pricing is better...it is possible to get a win at a 4* below 80 depending on when you go...will probably use this strategy at a later date (along with verifying that there are still the same amount of rebid zones) & will post win if I get one!!!
  14. Hi...can u help with a bidding strategy for 4* in Downtown Providence?...It looks as though I have 4 rebid zones to work with...lets work with max price of 120.00 - I can adjust the $$ amount if I need to...Thank you!!
  15. So I am thinking I should close this thread...due to family "stuff"...we will be postponing this girls trip to Vegas to the future...thanx for the info...will help to decide when to go next time...
  16. Romelle...Thank you!!!...will do :D ...we are still in the early stages of plannin to see if we can do vegas...seeing these $$ u found helps alot...will update this thread when I know more...
  17. Hi - yes that makes sense...I have been to Vegas a few times, but never in December...we are looking into a possible girls trip away, & need to decide if its a good time to do a 4-5 day Vegas trip somewhere between Dec 2nd - 14th...when I research scheduled conventions in this time frame there are a few small ones @ hotels 200-300 people...I see 2 "larger" ones a 10,000 one 12/5 & 12/6 (Thurs & Fri) & a 2,150 one 12/5 - 12/8 (thurs - sunday)...both at the convention ctr...i guess best case scenario is try & hit Vegas 12/2- 12/5...or 12/10 - 12/14???...or is 12,000 people considered small for Vegas...also wondering if its usually slow there in between Thanksgiving & Xmas...any ideas appreciated!!
  18. What is the best time to visit Las Vegas around a convention date before the convention or after we are trying to avoid the big crowds
  19. Excellent...had success!!...clicked thru the PRICELINE link Selected 4* Quincy Market... Bid $70, added re-bid zone...(got the reply back saying if I go to 99.00 they could get my room so I knew there was a "bait" on the line... B) ) Bid $75, added re-bid zone... Bid $83, added re-bid zone... Bid $91 4* AMES Hotel....Have won this before...its a nice place... modern & in a good location right near a "T" stop so we can park in the outskirts of the city CHEAP & take the "T" in like we always do...more $$ for fun instead of paying to park!!...& who can argue with that great price for a quick little getaway... TY!!!
  20. Hi - Want to do a last minute get away to Boston 1/11 - 1/13 - (2 nights) - Only want to try for a 4* in either the Boston Harborfront Aquarium or the Quincy Mkt Financial District as right now on Hotwire we can get the 4* Fairmont Battery Wharf for $120.00 p/n (identified myself with the amenities & your awesome hotel listings ), so want to see if I can priceline something cheaper than that price I have heard that priceline wins average cheaper than Hotwire buys?? maybe max @ $105.00??? I can adjust pricing on my own if needed ...It looks as though I have 5 free rebid zones....can anyone supply my bidding strategy??? Thanx Alison
  21. thereuare...yes you were 100% right..it was Country Inn & Suites in Chester.. :) I clicked thru the HOTWIRE link..cant beat the price - $56.00 + taxes etc = right about $70.00 PLUS the hotel has some really good reviews!!...Thank you for the help!! B)
  22. HI...need a room for an overnight travel stop just south of Richmond on 10/13...getting this option on Hotwire "recommended in 95% of hotwire reviews" Indoor pool self serve laundry free breakfast fitness ctr high speed internet access pool free parking "107.00 other sites - 56.00 on hotwire".... can anyone pinpoint for me???...Thanx!!! :)

  24. Hi - making a last minute trip on Wed 8/8 to the shore area & wanting to try winning 2 rooms via PRICELINE - on the bidding zones anything 3* or above in either Groton, Ledyard, or New London is OK....leaving me 2 free "rebid zones" (niantic & old saybrook) as far as I can see....prices are up in the 145 - 170 dollar range conventionally - wanted to try for a max bid of 100.00 - can you supply bidding strategy?? Thanx!!
