  1. Using the newly discovered BiddingHelper.com site, I saw that the Conrad of was going on Hotwire and PLE for about $320 total for the 2 nights. So, I started my bidding to total about 10% less. I probably coulda/shoulda started even lower. I have learned this hotel is undergoing a major renovation project. Hopefully, I can slide a couple Jacksons to the check-in person and get a nice little upgrade if occupancy is low. Grand total is $286.62 with taxes/fees.
  2. That is a SWEET feature. I'll wait to book my Miami stay until a day or 2 ahead of time. I'll report when I get the win.
  3. I've heard the "name your own price" feature has been removed. Is this true? What would be the best way for me to try and get this hotel at such a discount at this time?
  4. Started bidding at $50. Included O'hare South at $55. Included Loop at $59 since I knew there was a 99% chance I wouldn't get a 3* in the Loop for $59. Total with tax is $74.99 For some reason, Priceline Express had a 3* hotel in the O'hare North area for $57 but with taxes it ballooned up to $83 with taxes. Free Wifi In Room Indoor Pool Airport Shuttle No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Fitness Center Accessible Rooms/Facilities Business Center Restaurant Free Wifi In Public Areas Free Wifi Pool 3-Star Hotel $57
  5. I tried using "Name Your Own Price" and went up to $93 in the 2* options using multiple zones without a win. So, decided to just take the PRICELINE EXPRESS since I had a pretty good idea this was going to the hotel and didn't want to risk a shoddy 2* at the same price. Apparently, the Home and Garden show this weekend at the Dome has all the hotels booked in and around the city. I'm happy with the win. Amenities: Bed Choice Business Center Fitness Center Non Smoking Swimming Pool Total of $126 with taxes.
  6. I decided to try the "Name your own price" and started at $60. Kept increasing over the past day little by little. Ended up getting Le Meridien for $86 or $108 including taxes etc. Saved $9 off the Express Deal. HEY, that a FREE Hurricane for me. LOVE your website, btw.
  7. I have the dates clearly listed right under the title. Does it belong elsewhere? Price is now $90 and there is also another 4* for $106 and a 9+ rating with over 600 reviews and these amenitites: Apparently, I've stayed at this one before, so it says. Free Internet/Business Center/Fitness Center/Non Smoking Swimming Pool/Swimming Pool If you could identify both, that would be much appreciated.
  8. Please help identify these properties: 4* Express Downtown--$91/night Free InternetBusiness CenterFitness CenterNon Smoking Pets AllowedRestaurantSwimming PoolSwimming Pool Guest rating of 8+ My guess is Le Meridien.
  9. Room at Astor Crowne Plaza booked for one night at $74 ($5 upcharge to guarantee two beds). $94.88 grand total with taxes.
  10. I changed the dates to just one night 9/14/17-9/15/17 using the Biddinghelper as suggested as what I believe to be the JW Marriott (4* FQ/Bourbon St.) is showing for $69/night. Please correct me if I am wrong on this hotel. FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  11. I ended up staying at The Rosen Inn booked directly through the website. Can't recall the rate.

OR 3.5* Downtown/Superdome Complimentary Free Internet Amenities Business centerFitness centerGolf nearbyPool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundry Accessibility Accessible path of travel 95% recommended (98 reviews) $106/night plus taxes Thank you
  13. Saved $10 off the PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for same hotel. $33.60 resort/hotel fee. $25.34 taxes. $127 rejected. $189.94 grand total $100 cheaper than booking through any other discount travel site or through hotel directly. PRICELINE link from Betterbidding used.
  14. Seems like lots of these fees are wrong (on the low side). Especially the 5* hotels as they seem to be in the $30-35 range. Please correct me if I am wrong and this list is current and up to date.
  15. 51% off 65% recommended Free parking Amenities Business center Condo Fitness center Pet friendly Pool(s) Resort Restaurant(s) Smoke-free rooms Tripadvisor 3.5 out of 5 Your help identifying this would be much appreciated. Ooops, forgot to put the rate. $56/night Resort fee of about USD $10 per room per night down from $114. Full Amenities List: Free parking, Condo, Resort, Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Kitchenette, Spa services, Children's activities My guess is Rosen Plaza.
  16. I tried Gulf Breeze and P'cola Beach at 2.5* but was denied. When I moved down to 2*, I forgot to check the "Express" deals. I'm pretty sure this same hotel would have been $66 had I gone the Express route.
  17. I got antsy and pulled the trigger. I figured it was either going to be the Sleep Inn or the Super 8. I figured it would be the Sleep Inn because their internet rate is $149/night. Hotwire said it would be a savings of 56%. Well, the Super 8 internet rate is $92, so this deal is only a 24% savings from the "rack rate." SO, Hotwire LIED. Do I have a recourse? Meh, a place to lay my head and get breakfast before heading to the Fairgrounds. $172.72 total with taxes, etc.
  18. 4/24/15-4/26/15 Free parking Free breakfast Free Internet Amenities Pet friendly Pool(s) Self-service laundry $70/night 65% recommended Trip advisor 3/5 3.5 overall satisfaction ALSO, same dates, and also 2*, but in the NO East area Free B-fast, pet friendly and pool. 2.5 on Tripadvisor
  19. I had been trying to get a 3* or 3.5* in an airport zone with shuttle service. I had not seen any wins for 2* in the Airport or Airport North areas other than the Ramada in the North area. This is the Days Inn Hollywood/Airport South on N. 29th Ave. I learned the hard way that there aren't any other alternate areas that don't have 3* and above so my ability to bid up was severely hampered. I wish I had started with the 2* at the $70-75 range. I saved $45 off the Days Inn internet rate.
  20. Just like any metropolitan city, whether it is Philly, NY, LA, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami or Chicago, etc., you are going to have a certain amount of crime risk that will make finding an area that is completely "safe" unrealistic. New Orleans is a fantastic family-oriented city. Just stay off of Bourbon. I believe the Warehouse/Convention Center area will fit your needs more so than the French Quarter or Downtown. Your kids will enjoy riding the streetcars. If you have a car, then drive one evening to City Park to see the Christmas lights. Otherwise, after nightfall, you are probably are better off staying in your hotel. I hope you try to make it Uptown to spend a day at Audubon Park (pack a picnic lunch).
  21. First try. Maybe could have started out lower? But, with taxes, 2 rooms for the night of the US vs Nigeria soccer game for a grand total of $98.40 when their "discounted rate" is currently listed as $118.30 (plus taxes for one room) is not too shabby.
  22. Or maybe waiting until closer to the dates you want to go will be more fruitful........
  23. Headed over for the NOLA Bowl. This used to be the Ramada on Bourbon. Starting bidding at $55 and added different zones until I got accepted at $62. Grand total with taxes: $151.86 ROLL WAVE!
