  1. Thanks for the guestimate! We decided not to do this trip afterall. Will continue to book through betterbidding next trip! :-)
  2. Need help with possible stay in Fairfax, VA - current rate $88 per night, with $149 at other sites crossed out. Dates: April 3-6 Amenties: Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service) ,High-Speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby , pool, restaurant, fitness, smoke free rooms, indoor pool, free parking. thank you
  3. Was just succesful using Priceline at $40 (no coupon) for a 2.5 Star Hotel - RAMADA. Not that excited but it fits my budget and has a pool for my kid. I'll try to do a review once we return. I did use your link to log onto PRICELINE.
  4. I just tried unsuccesfully bidding again today, with a change of dates and $10 coupon (another one I found in my rewards) for $68 3 star - Grand Rapids Airport. I was only allowed to use the coupon once, so I didn't rebid.
  5. I went ahead and bid with no luck. I bid $55 with the $10 coupon for $65 bid total per night. I'll post back what we eventually wind up booking. Thank you.
  6. Still haven't booked as not that excited about the potential HOTWIRE choices. Rec'd a $10 per night bid coupon from PRICELINE that expires today. If memory is correct, you get to use once then it dissolves. I previously bid $48 with a $5.00 per night PRICELINE coupon for this trip, but my bids were rejected for a 3 star. Can you help by suggesting what bid anoumt or strategy I should submit with my new $10 coupon. In a perfect world, I would only spend $200 total for the 4 nights. Max I am willing to bid is $60. Thanks. Hopefully you can respond before the coupon expires at midnight tonight.
  7. OK, YES there is a laundry facilities (self service) amenity listed - which I must have left out. I searched for 2 adults + 1 child. BTW - trip advisor lists this property as 3.5/5. So was initially thinking Clarion, but now thinking maybe Fairfield inn??? Thank you.
  8. I did click the amenities link with my original post and listed ALL amenities for the two properties. Let me know your best guess? Tks
  9. Tyring to figure out which Grand Rapid Airport hotels these are, dates are 6/18-6/22/2012: 3 Star $51 ($117 elswhere?) amenities: Free parking, pools, shuttle, fitness, business center, restaurant, laundry, high speed internet. 80% recommended 2.5 Star $49 amenities: free parking, complimentary breakfast, pools, shuttle, high speed internet + free internet 85% recommended Thank you.
  10. OK, I just went ahead and purchased the 4 star property which turned out to be the Hyatt lodge for $71 per night. With tax it came out to $83. It looks lovely. Amenities listed: fitness, pool, restaurant, business, HSI, golf, tennis. I liked the price better on the 3 star, but worried it might not be to my satisfaction. Once again, thanks for the help. I always use the link to HOTWIRE from this site.
  11. Last minute trip and need place to stay in the outskirts of Chicago on 8/21. I found a 3star 80% recommended 4/5 trip advisor for $56 with the following amenities: Breakfast, fitness, Bus, HSI, Golf nearby. My guess is the Hyatt place but I'm hoping for Embassy Suites. What is your best guess? Thanks.
  12. Yeah, I should have known better to book with 2 people, when I actually had 3 - but the same property showed up in each search and it was less $ to book 2. I also assumed it was the Sheraton, and figured it wouldn't matter since they have many rooms with a 2 bed configuration. I did call the Hard Rock directly and was told we are currently booked in a room with a King Bed. It will be a $40 per night charge to get a room with two beds - ouch or, a roll-away is $25 per night but can't be guaranteed. I was told that when we check in, if a room with 2 beds is available, we may be able to get the room at no additional cost. I'm hoping it all works out. Again, I should have known better. ;(
  13. OK I booked what I thought was the Sheraton, 4 star, Mag Mile, No-smoking, fitness, restaurant, internet business center, 90% recommended Plus Super Saver and ..... It turned out to be the Hard Rock Hotel. I guess this is alright. Price $137 per night. I hope it works out with the beds - I listed 2 adults, since it came up with a lower price then when I entered 2 adults + 1 child. I am going to give them a call in a few hours - hopefully it will be in their system, so I can make a bed request. Keeping my fingers crossed. I had confidence we wouldn't have a problem at the Sheraton, but we might only be able to get a king room at the Hard Rock - oh no!
  14. OK, I messed up. I waited too long and now prices have really gone up. The properties I looked at previously are no longer being offered. Here are my new choices: 2 adults/1 child July 23-25: 4* Mag/Streeterville $137 super savings w/fitness/pool/restaurant/business/internet 85% recommended or 3 star Mag/Streeterville $117 super savings w/fitness/pool/restaurant/business/laundry/internet 95% recommended. This is also a 3star in the Loop with breakfast @ $134 which I believe is La Quinta, which might also be a good choice. Any other suggestions welcomed.
  15. No, there are no other amenities are showing for the 3 star.
  16. Dates: July 23-25, 2 adults + 2 kids (party is actually 3 but we want 2 beds) Choices are: 4 star Chicago Loop - Millenium Park - Grant Park area Hotel - amenities: Boutique, Fitness, restaurant, Business, Internet, 85% recommended @$109 or 3 StarChicago Loop - Millenium Park - Grant Park area Hotel - amenities: Fitness, Pool, restaurant, business, laundry, Internet 90% recommended @$119 I'm thinking the first one is the Burnham? and the second one the Wyndham, Hyatt or Swissotel? With 2 adults + 2 kids will we be guaranteed 2 beds? Thanks.
  17. Sorry about that, dates were: Feb 19 - 21. Just a note about the "hotel" it was really a motel. It was clean, but couldn't imagine paying the asking rate (not the hotwire rate) as I would have felt that I had over-paid. The staff however were super friendly.
  18. Just booked a 2 star Best Western in Hartland, MI. Amenities were: breakfast, pool, internet. I pretty much figured it had to be the Best Western, since there weren't any other hotels in the area. Rate was $57 per night saving us $40 per night. I used the HOTWIRE link from better bidding to book.
  19. Thanks, rather than go for a 2 star unknown, I switched plans and bid on priceline for a 2.5 star hotel in the Toledo Ohio area, after 3 unsuccesful bids, I was rewarded with a $38 rate for the Country Inn and Suites in Rossford, Oh, which is the Toledo/Perrysburg zone. I used your site PRICELINE link to bid. Sorry if you have to place this post elsewhere, but did want you to know the result. Once again, I thank you for your kind assistance with my travel plans!
  20. 2 star, Ann Arbor West - Univ. Of Michigan, only listed amenity is laundry, check-in June 25 check out June 26, recommended 75% searched using 1 adult, 1 child, price = $39? Any thoughts? Thanks.
  21. SCORE!!!! It was the Sutton! HOTWIRE dropped the rate to $109, with a bed option of $122.. FYI at the Sutton only 25% of the rooms have double beds, 75% are kings, so rather than chance it I took the bed option of $122! Thanks again for your help. I used your link to HOTWIRE (as always) to book this room!! Listed as: 4 stars, Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Internet, Business, 90% recommended! Wow, still excited, Orbitz had this hotel on "summer sale" for $221 on my date!
  22. Looking to book a room June 20-21, but need 2 beds in the River North, Water Tower area. I came across this listing: 4 stars, Boutique, Fitness, Restaurant, Internet, Business, $129. I searched using 2 adults + 2 kids. After cross referencing the "pinned list" it could be Sutton Place or the Raffaelo, and would be estatic to get the Raffaelo hotel. If you know of any other specials or codes for that night, let me know as the Raffaelo is otherwise $185. As always, I am appreciative of the help I receive from this site! Thanks.
  23. YES, it was the Hyatt Place Itasca! $39! When I went to purchase amenties listed: pool, fitness, internet, business. Breakfast wasn't listed, but I knew it was the same listing since it was identified as 100% recommended. Thank you once again, for your help. I purchased using the HOTWIRE link!
  24. Hotwire details: Itasca area Hotel $39, amenities: no smoking, comp breakfast, pool, fitness, internet, business center . Recommended in 100% of customer reviews. Date: June 12 check out June 13 (1 night) my best guess is Hyatt Place. Would you concur? Thanks again for all the back and forth!
