  1. We paid $235 AU plus taxes so the total was $587 AU. It says we saved 25% and we are happy with this. Annabelle.
  2. Total paid $240 AU plus taxes and fees giving a total of $300 AU which is about $235 US for September 27 and 28, 2017. Happy with this hotel and price so we bid again for October 14 and 15, 2017 and got the same hotel again for $5 less. Annabelle.
  3. Checked out a few pages of this forum to see what hotels had been won recently and what prices people paid, so was not surprised when I got this one. Good price as cheapest I could get elsewhere was about $180 average ( Friday night was more than the other nights). Used the PRICELINE link from this forum.
  4. Thanks for your reply. I still think the hotel was the Distrikt but couldn't take the risk so we booked it on Expedia.com.au as they had a pay for 4 get 1 night free offer which worked out as almost the same rate as HOTWIRE.
  5. The hotel is priced at $145. It is in Chelsea - MSG. 3.5* Amenities are non-smoking, restaurant, business It it has a 95% recommendation. Nothing from the hotwire hotel list matches. Do you think it may be the Distrikt? Or any other suggestions? The dates I want are 25th to 29th July. Thanks, Annabelle.
  6. I sent the HOTWIRE link from this site to my friend and she booked the Intercontinental Barclay for 12 nights in September 2011. She won't post this information so I thought I would do it for her in case it can help anyone else make a decision. The amenities shown were Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, Hi-Speed internet Access, Tennis nearby. Price was $186 per night with an extra $34.50 per night in taxes.
  7. The unidentified 3* on Hotwire in Kensington - Earls Court is the Holiday Inn Express (breakfast, internet). I booked it today (have started another thread here: Hotwire Hotel). This thread and all the discussion was very helpful to me. Many thanks.
  8. Read the other thread about booking in London and decided that this 3* with Breakfast and Hi-speed internet listed on Hotwire was probably the Holiday Inn Express Earls Court. Was happy when it was confirmed - $90 was half of the price I could find anywhere else, including the hotel's own website. Details : Rate per night $90 Nights 9 Taxes and fees $207.64 Total $1,017.64 Used the HOTWIRE link from this site.
  9. I wanted this property so I bid $55 first up and crossed my fingers that I didn't get the Amari. Bid was accepted. I used the PRICELINE link from this site.
  10. Had a change of schedule on our recent visit to the US and found ourselves with 3 days to spend in Seattle. Knowing nothing of Seattle and only being able to find the internet in the public library in Bend, Oregon we quickly typed in Seattle, downtown,$95 and got the Sheraton. Appears we were very lucky. It was a great hotel in a wonderful location. We were treated very well and given a large room on a high floor - on the Starwood preferred guest floor. Booked the room 2 days before we arrived.
  11. We are also bidding for the 30th and 31st May and have bid up to $130 with no luck. I guess there must be something on! We had no trouble getting the 13th and 14th June for $127.
  12. Enjoyed our stay here recently so we attempted to bid for 2 more weekends. No luck for 30th and 31st May, but success for 13 and 14 June. Will keep trying for the other dates.
  13. I have bid a few times up to $95 for 4* in Vancouver for May 12th to 17th. No luck - not even a counter offer. Now I am a bit nervous about bidding anymore as I really don't want to stay at Pacific Palisades as the reviews are so bad. They seem heavily booked for these dates and probably wouldn't have any availability to let me upgrade to a quiet room.
  14. Try www.wotif.com.au. This is probably the main site used in Australia.
  15. $130 first bid, got the Marriott Sydney College St for Saturday the 29th March, 2008.
  16. I successfully bid for a hotel in San Francisco and used and an Australian visa card without any problems (although I did use an American state and 99999 as the zip code.
  17. Forgot to mention that I used the Savingsbarn link.
  18. First time using Priceline. Thanks for all the tips I have gained from reading this message board! First bid: USE 4* $87 rejected Second bid: USE + Civic Centre 4* $90 rejected Third bid: USE + Civic Centre + South San Francisco 4* $95 accepted - Marriott. Very happy!
