  1. Thanks for the information. Reviews on the Aston Waikiki Beach are not that good on Trip Advisor. The are in construction mode, so that's a big disadvantage. I'm now looking at a 3-star Waikiki Beach Area (May 4-6) for 2 nights that cost $129 a night and is a 8.0-10 guest favorite with indoor/outdoor pool, free internet, and restaurant for a total of $310.92. It offers an upgrade to a non-smoking room with an ocean view for $176 plus taxes and fees. There is no resort fee for this 3-star room. What is your best guess as to what hotel this is? Also, what are your thoughts on the Waikiki Beach Area vs the Waikiki Marina area hotel success in the past??? The hotel rating, great quality, and guest favorite is high on my priority list. Thanks
  2. Thanks Thereuare, I was looking this morning at the amenities on Priceline at a 3 1/2 star Waikiki Beach Area for $128 on May 4-6 (2 nights), but when I select this offer it says it can now offer this for $120 because of inventory. I guess that this is an automatic discount. Also, I'm not sure if Priceline has a express deal discount active at this time. I saw a $10 offer that expired last night (March 7th), so if you know of any other discount I would appreciate your input. The amenities listed on the Express Deal were: indoor or outdoor pool restaurant fitness center free access I'm not sure what other amenities they would offer, but I need help in identifying this hotel. There is an mandatory resort fee of $46.00 to the reservation. Thanks :)
  3. I am looking at a 3.5* in the Waikiki beach area for May 3-5, 2015 (2 nights) and need help identifying this hotel. I would appreciate any help that's available to find the hotel with these amenities. There is no resort fee added to this property when going to the check out page. 3.5* Waikiki Beach FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Near beach, Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby Thanks
  4. I started bidding for 2 rooms at 3 1/2 star hotels in Augusta for $37, $39 and $42 for zones North, West and Gordon Hwy respectively, but was unsuccessful so, I closed my browser down and opened a new browser to add a 3 star hotel to my selection. I began bidding with the Augusta North $37 and West $39, before winning the Gordon Hwy zone for $43. The Holiday Inn-Gordon Hwy was a nice win for the price, which includes a free breakfast. Since I will be staying there only one night I am pleased with my win.
  5. I have been bidding on 5 rooms for 5 nights to win rooms in a 3 1/2 star hotel in New York City for over 2 weeks. Each time I started bidding at $126 and increasing my bid by $5 when adding other re-bid zones. Here is the order of zones I used: MTE, MTW CPS, TS, D-FD, ESB, MSG. I finally won the 5 rooms when I bid $156 on my last re-bid zone area that I was going to use. This was a big hotel win for the end of May for 5 nights and I'm happy with the Radisson Martinique on Broadway Hotel. The lowest I ever saw Priceline Express Deal was at $157 in the ESB zone about 10 days prior to winning, but it never showed that price again. The Express Deal price jumped to around $195 in all zones and it never came back down. Thank you Betterbidding for all the many hours and great information that you provide. I have always enjoyed using your site.
  6. I am coming to NYC on May 28-June 2, 2014 and wanting help to ID a 3 1/2 star Empire State Building Hotel. Betterbidding shows only (4) 3 1/2* hotels in the Empire State Building area and I'm trying to ID the hotel with the following items. PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal has a price of $157 per night in that area as of today. I have tried bidding on many areas from 3 1/2 to 5 star properties, but have not won anything yet. I am a patient person, so I'm sure I'll win something good or purchase the Express Deal. Can you help ID this hotel with this information. Thanks, Guaranteed amenities: Free Internet in public areas Pets Allowed Restaurant Business Center Fitness Center
  7. Started bidding on a 4* River Walk Hotel at $65. I knew that I could get a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal at $90, so I knew my limits for a 4* on the River Walk in San Antonio. I Re-bid zones that did not have a 4*, increasing my bids by $2 or $3 dollars at a time. When I bid $76 on a re-bid zone I immediately heard back that I had won the Grand Hyatt San Antonio on the River Walk. I checked the price of the same night on Hyatt web page and it was going for $249 per night. WHAT A GREAT WIN ON PRICELINE. I have always loved getting great deals on PRICELINE and don't know why others don't take advantage of the prices that they give. :)
  8. I am very pleased to report my win! I have worked for about 2 weeks trying to win 2 rooms for 6 nights. That's not always easy to do when bidding for those needs in Washington DC. I bid for a 4-star Downtown DC and Capitol Hill Convention Center up to $124 but failed on all rebid zones. I then always closed Priceline and started over trying for a 3-1/2 star hotel in the same 2 zones with a starting bid at $85. I used my 4 rebid zones and raised the bid each time and on my final zone I bid $114. I was awarded the Rouge, a Kimpton Hotel at that bid and I also wanted to report I used the 5% discount which paid for my insurance fees. The Rouge is rated 28 of 126 hotels in Washington DC and has a higher rating than most of the 4-star hotels. I'm excited with this win and always love winning better deals by naming my own price. I have always been successful with the exception of once in New York City. My reservation price was better than I could do on Priceline, but that was a rare time for sure. Thanks :)
  9. I won 4 rooms at the LaSalle Hotel in Bryan/College Station for $75 including taxes for Thursday, April 5, 2012. I bid $51 for 2 days with no results. I was offered the win for $12 more which totaled $63, but I declined on both attempts. There is no rebid zones for a 3-Star Hotel in Bryan/College Station. After doing this and missing the bid for 2 days, on the 3rd day I decided to go ahead and take the offer of $51 plus the $12 for a win of $63. After adding the taxes to my winning bid, it came out to $75 per room for the one night stay. The LaSalle Hotel at the present time goes for $98 on Priceline plus taxes. I feel that this was a great win. I have stayed in the LaSalle before and it's a wonderful hotel in downtown Bryan. The drive to the Texas A&M campus is just over 5 miles and the historical downtown Bryan is a fun place to hang out with many local restaurants to choose from. My favorite is The Longhorn Steakhouse which is just over 3 blocks. Great win for 4 couples going to the B/CS area on a one night outing. :)
  10. Thank you Priceline! :D I started bidding for the 4-star hotel in the SFO Airport-Burlingame zone. My first bid of $60 was rejected and I then started my re-bid zones. There are 6 re-bid zones and each time I increased my bid $5. I was declined on all zones until I made my last zone bid of $91 in the final zone and The Hilton SFO Airport Bayfront Hotel accepted the final bid of $91. I am very pleased with the hotel I won. The Hilton web site list the room for $107 for that night, so I feel I received a fair value through Priceline.
  11. I was looking for 2 rooms January 1st and 2nd, 2012 in the San Francisco Wharf area. Myself and another couple wanted 2 rooms for the San Francisco Wharf area and here is how I won my (2) rooms. I started bidding on Priceline for a 3-star Hotel in the Fishermans Wharf area. I bid $55 on the first bid (no win); I then bid $60 on the second bid by adding the Marina Lombard Street zone (no win); I then bid my last bid of $65 by adding the Richmond zone and was notified that I won the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf. :) I'd talked to the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf earlier in the day to try and make a reservation that I could cancel and they gave me a quote of $155 which I could cancel 24 hours before I would arrive. I'm very happy with this win and I'm looking forward to our visit. I hope this helps others with bidding and what price was won.
  12. I am logged in and can't get the calendar wins to give me the dates I'm asking for. When I type in California, I get all other cities and can't get San Francisco. Am I doing something wrong or is the site down? It says to type in a 14 day range of dates and the type the state and then submit. I only see the filter icon to hit. Please help me. Thanks, Dave
  13. I'm taking a cruise to Barcelona and will stay in a hotel for 2 nights on a post cruise stay. I'm wanting to know what suggestions you might have for a popular hotel that's would be offered at a rate of around $120 per night. I am looking for a safe place with good amenities that's close to the tourist attractions. I've heard that the La Rambla area is a good central place to stay. Thank you for any help in securing a nice hotel in Barcelona. DR
  14. For the past several days I've been trying to bid on a NYC hotel room and it keep giving me an opportunity to get a $50 discount. I tell in NO THANKS and then it won't let me do my bidding. What's wrong with this???? It's frustrating!!!! Thanks for any advice.
  15. Thanks for everyone's help in winning such a great price! I've been trying for 2 monts to win a bid for NYC for 2 rooms over Memorial Day Weekend. I used the bidding stradegy and started at $145 to $155 for 3 zones in the Midtown West and Central Park South zones.....No luck! Then bid on Midtown East and Times Square starting at $145 and "WHAM", was congratulated on being accepted at The W New York. This isn't exactly the hotel I'd have liked, but man you can't beat that price in NYC. Looking forward to going next month and saved myself a lot of money. I've read good and bad things about the W New York, but I'll be happy with a *4 Star at that price. DR
  16. Just wanting to know if requesting 2 rooms for 4 nights in NYC is difficult to get in late May. Does anyone have any experience or ideas??? Also, when requesting 2 rooms it ask for 2 names. I guess my credit card will be charged, but what happens when you arrive at the hotel???? Do you have to show the 2 names that were on the bid request??? Thanks for any help. D.....
  17. I'm wanting to go to NYC in May and I'm wanting to know what hotels should you expect when bidding on 4 stars??? Can anyone tell me what I might expect to get and what price range they might go for. I have a back up already in place for $251 at the Barclay Hotel. Thanks
  18. I'm new to working with PL and HW. Could you explain what is ment my the following: HOTWIRE link (The Big Four) under the BB support travel links???? I looked on HW and didn't see anything about The Big Four or what BB support link is. Thanks
  19. I have a backup hotel at The Barclay, but want to bid on Priceline to beat my $251 a night price plus taxes. Is it best to start bidding now at a much lower price or wait until it's closer to my May 23rd, '08 date in NYC? I've never bid on Priceline before and I'm wanting to give it a shot. Thanks for any help.
