I am ok to stretch till around 180-200 inclusive of all tax..3.5-4 star is good for me. I am ok to try Hotwire too if there are any good options. Kindly suggest anything as I need to finish the booking today.

  10. Just wanted to update you about the trip...The Marriott Wardmann, was absolutely a bad deal. - They charge 45$ for parking - Internet is not free - charge 12$ a day. - Found bedbug in the Hotel room, now i am at a risk of infesting my house (in spite of the precautions) I would have bid more & stayed at a 4* instead...I paid 91$+service fees+taxes+parking...Just a word of caution to future bidders...do not bud for 3.5 star in this area...
  11. Amenities at the fairfax hotel: Free Breakfast Free Internet (in Room) Free Parking Pet Friendly Non-Smoking Handicap Accessible But this was no hidden hotel, I got this @ express & Extended stay was directly available - for a limited time. Not sure how it works
  12. After plenty of bids & changing zones, & dates... I bid for 3.5 & got this win. Amenities: Free Internet (in Public Area) Pet Friendly Outdoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center
  13. I finally chose to go with a hotel directly, managed to bargain a rate. Did not opt for PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Thanks for the help.
  14. Yes, the dates were the reasons...I finally split it for 2 different slots, For the 12-14, i took the express deals, they had an offer for extended Stay @ Fairfax for 62$ For the 14-15, i bid at $91 & got the 3.5 star Washington Marriott Wardman Park. I am not sure which zone did i get this in though, but looks like a good one.
  15. The areas that i selected were:Arlington, Capitol Hill, Crystal City, Downtown, Downtown White house, Dupont circle, Georgetown Foggy . Any suggestions? I saw a few entries with bid won @ 81... BTW this is for 3.5 star only...not yet selected 3 star yet
  16. No luck yet!!! Have been bidding on all the nearby areas...Reached till 89$, yet no luck...any suggestions?
  17. Dates: 12 Apr to 15 Apr 3.5 to 3 star Location preferably Crystal City, Georgetown - Foggy or any other decent area...not very far from the tourists destinations...Looking for a budget around 60-70$ Any suggestions?
  18. Thanks for all the help...owing to high rates for the long weekend season...I am changing my plans. Will drop in a new query once i finalize...As you know these places quite well...what do you suggest? For a family with 7 people(including kids) is it more feasible to stay in proper Newyork & avoid the 10$ charges for train per person per trip? if we stay in New jersey, we would be spending at leats 140$ a day on the train tickets isnt it? What would be your suggestion rather pay some more & stay in proper walkable distance in NYC?
  19. No What i meant was if there are no single room available which accomodate 6 people, i am also OK with 2 rooms with 3 people each...If the budget is lower for this criteria (3 Star+, Near Public Transit to Manhattan, if possible car parking) What should be the budget then?
  20. Thanks for the clarifications... i am driving in from Charlotte, looking for a decent ( minimum 3*) place...with good connectivity to Metro/subways etc...I believe manhattan area would be costly & hence the reason to stay a bit further but close to Public tranit. Per day budget would be around 60-80 for each room..Basically Good value for money.Any suggestions would be appreciated. Parking is also required. Thanks again.
  21. in Some hotels there are Suites which accommodate more people, if that is not available, yes maybe 2 rooms would be required Thanks
