Sitting in my room now as I type. I have stayed at 5 or 6 different hotels on this trip, most reviewed elsewhere in the forum, and all have been excellent, but this room takes the prize. Great large room, giant bathroom and large plasma on the wall. No view, but that is the only criticism, as small as it is. The decor in the lifts is weird. 3D panels on the side of the wall are creepy..lol Good location, close to sears, railway station and Millennium Park. A winner. Edit: One other criticism I forgot about. Internet is $14.95 a day, wired or wireless, in the room. It is free in the lobby. I'm sorry, but in this day and age, charging for internet usage is blatant price gouging....and they managed to gouge me...lol

Stayed 2 nights in Feb 2011. Great location on Canal St. Originally I was bidding for a hotel in the French Quarter, but in hindsight having now stayed at the Sheraton, I think it is a better location than just about any other. We were given a room on the 39th floor and never a hint of any Priceline bias. I think it can finally be put to bed about a Priceline bias. I haven't seen it in 4 years of using Priceline. It may have been a factor in the early days, but times change and I think no stigma is attached nowadays. Room was nice and roomy, bathroom adequate. Internet was free in the common areas and $6.95 in the room, wired or wireless. I chose to pay because I wanted to upload some video to a blog and wanted the security of a wired connection to get the job completed. Whilst in this day and age any charge is just a blatant price gouge, $6.95 is not outrageous so I made that decision. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Stayed 2 nights in Feb, Sunday and Monday of Presidents weekend. We checked in quite late at around 11pm due to a late arrival by AMTRAK from Chicago, but we still received quite a large room (Deluxe King) with a nice view down 2 streets. Location is good, close to the hop on/hop off Trolley Tour of the City's ticket office. I wouldn't be disappointed to win this hotel again.

Stayed in mid Feb 2011 for one night. $76. This is a very nice hotel in a very good location. Check-in staff were very nice and gave me complimentary in-house internet when I mentioned that we had quite a long wait for the shuttle at LAX. Used the shuttle again 3 more times that trip without incident. Bedding is luxurious, real Sheraton 4* quality. Good win at $80 and under.

Stayed there for 2 nights in early Feb 2011. The hotel is showing it's age, but the rooms were clean and reasonable, the lobby nice, the bistro was very good and the price ($55) was sensational. The shuttle service to and from LAX was good as well. Probably correctly rated at 3.5*, but I've seen a lot worse 4*. Happily stay again at the same rate.

Needed just a Saturday night, so I was ready for a struggle. Started bidding for a 4* at $55 as there are 6 rebid zones which gives plenty of options. Received an 'add $25' offer at $67, so bumped it straight up to $77 after kindly declining their generous offer..lol Success at the W Hotel Chicago City Centre. I went back 12 pages and could not see where this hotel has been won before, although it is in the list. I used rebid zones to bid from $50 to $70 two days running without success. Started today at $65 and received an 'add $20' offer immediately. Wanted French Quarter. Bid for 4* up to $85 without success using 5 rebid zones. Noticed the Sheraton Downtown was being 'won' regularly at a good rate. Considering it is just about in French Quarter anyway (on Canal St) I gambled I may win it with a small bid. I bid $52 and immediately received a 'add $15' offer. I declined their kind offer and added $5 using a rebid zone and 'won' it for $57. This was always going to be a tricky buy, needed Sunday and Monday nights of Presidents Weekend, so effectively splitting the long weekend. Tried 4* in both Copley Square and Quincey Market areas bidding up to $95 using 5 rebid zones available. Dropped down to 3.5* and bid to $80 without success. Next day tried 4* again. Received 'add $25' offers at $90, $97 and again at $100. Dropped down to 3.5* and 'won' the Boston Park Plaza at $99 after bidding up from about $80. Bidding for 2 rooms started at around $50 mark a few days ago. Using rebids in $3 increments I got to $62 when I was offered the room for an extra $20. I had one rebid zone left, so bid $67 and was declined. Bidding today started at $60. Again received an offer at $62, declined and used a rebid at $69 and was successful. Actually not that huge a saving, can get cheaper rooms for the weekday nights direct from the hotel website (they currently have a promo), but overall it works out slightly cheaper. I have little doubt if I split my bid I could have done better, but didn't really want to risk having to change hotels given the weekend is in the middle of our 7-day stay. Funny stuff :) As mentioned in my other winning bid post, 3 days ago bid to $150 in MTE, MTW and TS without luck. Two days ago snagged 2 rooms at The Benjamin for $144 for the first 5 nights of a 10 night stay. A move to a different part of the city for the second half was no problem, actually welcomed, so this morning (in Aust) I bid up to $152 in MTW and TS with no luck. After reading reviews of 'Morgans' in the Empire State area and given it appears to be the only 4* hotel won in that area for a long time, I thought I would throw in some lowballish bids. Started at $120 and increased by $2 increments using rebid zones + TS and MTW. As I wasn't prepared to go over $140, I just added the rebid zones without exiting out of my browser. This gave me 8 bids which finished at $134. I thought I would be fairly close so as a last resort I threw MTE back in the mix as I knew I wouldn't be successful at $136 for MTE. :) Yep, u guessed it, successful with The Benjamin at $136. Dates of stay: March 2008 Strange, I could almost write the above review word for word. Our first room also reeked of smoke, cigar, though i don't know if it was meant to be smoking or non. When the bell delivered our bags he agreed it was a most unpleasant smell, rang the desk from the room on our behalf and within 2 minutes we were also walking into a suite with separate area with a desk, internet cabling, coffee maker etc. The hotel was very nice, although a bit far from a lot of the action. That said, LA is so spread out it would be near impossible to be near more than one or 2 attractions and if you want to see more than that, be prepared for long taxi trips. Staff were more than helpful. On our final day we were not due to fly back to Australia until 11:45pm. They arranged late checkout (3pm) for both of our rooms (though we ended up checking out at noon), allowed us to store our luggage (11 bags!!!) whilst we travelled out for the day and allowed us to use the steamroom/sauna changerooms to have a shower and freshen up prior to our trip to the airport in the evening. All this extra helpful service for Priceline customers without a hint of discrimination whatsoever. Thoroughly recommend.

In a word - Amazing. Brand new and apart from a few small glitches (eg. room key issues, room safe not working) this hotel is in a class of it's own (except the obvious Bellagio, Venetian and Wynn). Beautifully appointed rooms, every room a suite and the pictures on the website are exactly what you get. Bathrooms are gorgeous, soaps, shampoos etc. top shelf. We won this for $169 on Priceline and at that price is the bargain of the century. Just amazing.

Originally a bit disappointed when I won this hotel for $89 for 2 nights Feb 2008. Needn't have worried. The Priceline rooms both I and our travel companions received were both spacious and nicely appointed. Free internet access in the room, the only free access I received in 9 different hotels whilst on our 5 week vacation, plus free wine tasting (read: all you can drink) every afternoon at 4:30. The location on Robson Street was central to everything. All in all, I would not be at all disappointed if I won this 4* hotel again. Great value and great location.

Well, I checkout in the morning and as I've stated in the review section, this stay could barely have been better. I did go to Ess-a-Bagel for breakfast....FANTASTIC. Jalapeno flavored cream cheese..yummy. The Minister for War and Finances had apple and cinnamon flavored cheese on a cinnamon bagel and she rated it very highly. Less than $10 for the 2 bagels and 2 large coffees. Value+ I note there has been quite a few wins recently for this weekend coming, so I have linked a few photos of the room to the review which can be found here. Cheers.

Unless something goes drastically wrong in the 12 hours until I check out, I have to say this stay has been fantastic. The hotel is very nice, absolutely not the slightest suggestion we were treated any different because we were 'Priceline' guests. Lovely king bed room on 21st floor. All staff were courteous and each day a few dollars left in the bathroom with a note saw a healthy supply of extra towels and a perfectly clean room upon our return each day. A couple of pics of the room can be seen here: Room view 1 Room view 2 All in all a great first time Priceline experience in the first leg of a 5 week holiday from Australia. 5 more hotels booked thru Priceline in the next few weeks, if they are all as good as this one I'll be a very happy camper.

With free zones you have 30 odd rebids for a 4* in LA (5 rebid zones), so no danger of running out of chances. After getting yet another counter offer at $149, I upped it by a single dollar for the win.

I used my Australian based Visa to book all my accommodation using the 'Name Your own Price' option. Money has been taken. No problems whatsoever.

Thx for the new info J77. As recent as 19th Jan I still had to have a dodgy US address in the billing field because it wouldn't accept an Australian address, even though their terms and conditions clearly stated that residents of Australia were welcome to use Priceline. Go figure :) Anyway, I just logged in and successfully entered my Aust. address and everything is hunky dory. Cheers.
