  1. I've looked through the hotel list and searched the last few year's of posts and can't figure out which hotel this is. Perhaps it hasn't been identified. 4* Hotel Downtown Portland Searching for dates October 5-7. Amenities include: Pet friendly Boutique Hotel Fitness Center Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  2. Just an FYI, as of last Thursday Wynn and Encore began charging a resort fee of $20 a night. I know this is a concern for those who are bidding on rooms, so keep in mind the extra $20 when you are trying to score a low rate on priceline or hotwire.
  3. First bid and I won the Hotel Nikko for $70! I started at what I thought was a low price, but perhaps someone can start lower and win it for less. One word of caution--the Hotel Nikko charges a considerable amount ($30 a night) to upgrade to 2 double beds, whereas other hotels in the area (Parc 55 for example) have done it for us for free in the past when we've won through priceline. I realize this is always a risk you run when bidding through Priceline, but many hotels I've bidded on in the past haven't had an issue with the upgrade free of charge. Just something to keep in mind if you are counting on scoring a room with two double beds.
  4. I won the Dreams Cancun on hotwire last year. I didn't have to pay a resort fee. I'm not sure if the JW Marriott or Ritz charge that fee in Mexico, although I've been charged the fee for hotwire/priceline purchased on those hotels here in the states. I've found that even with the resort fees, I'm still saving a huge chunk of change by buying through priceline or hotwire. Good luck!
  5. Just booked via priceline and scored the Hyatt Regency in Chicago (Wacker Street) for $63 a night. We are thrilled! Thanks again betterbidding. As always, I used your PRICELINE link.
  6. By the way, I did not book through hotwire or priceline (first time in a long time)! Just wanted to let you know. Also, this 5 star hotel with amenities was changed a few days later to a 4 star. I called hotwire and they verified for me that the hotel was downgraded in the system from a 5 star to a 4 star. Still not sure which hotel it was.
  7. I'm looking at booking the same deal. I think the only two 5 star AIs in the North Hotel Zone are the Royal and Le Blanc, so it's prob one of those. My guess the the Royal Cancun.
  8. Can anyone help identify this hotel: 5* AI in the North Hotel Zone. $259.00 a night Amenities include: Resort Beachfront Food and Beverages Included A La Cart Dining Water Sports/Activities Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Complimentary Breakfast Children's Activity Program (which doesn't make sense because the fine print says that the hotel is 18 and older--adult's only) Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services All Inclusive Thanks Betterbidding!
  9. Thanks for the help. I think we are going to skip HOTWIRE for this trip and book a room directly through a resort where we found a deal.
  10. Just wanted to follow up and let you know that we were able to go to Dreams Cancun as hurricane Gustav spared the Riviera Maya. Thanks anyway for the Punta Cana help!
  11. 2.5 Star Hotel in Downtown Phoenix, January 15-17, 2009, $58 per night. Amenities are as follows: This hotel features the following amenities: Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access The search function isn't working for me and I'm unable to find any info on which hotel this may be. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
  12. Opps, yes there IS a Suite option. I missed that! Our airline has indicated that there is a good chance our flight will be cancelled if the hurricane continues to take its current path. If that happens, hotwire has agreed to refund my money, PLUS my insurance would kick in for my airline tickets and the hotel. So at this point it's a waiting game, but I would have less than 10 hours to book another flight and room so I want to have a contingency plan in place! As always, thanks for your help. Love this board.
  13. Planned to go to Mexico but Hurricane Gustav may not allow us to do so. Can anyone help me with this Punta Cana resort that I'm trying to book last minute: August 31, 2008-September 6, 2008- $116 Resort Beachfront Food and Beverage Water Sports/Activities Daily Activities Children's Activities Pool Business Center Golf Nearby Spa Services Casino A La Carte Dining Evening Entertainment Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Restuarant High Speed Internet Access Tennis Nearby Tough situation with limited time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will use the appropriate HOTWIRE link to book, as always.
  14. Oops! So sorry! I copied and pasted the amenities from my former post (the one where I was seeking assistance in id'ing the resort) and I just copied too much. I've purchased-- $196 a night. Not only have I told EVERYONE about my sweet deal on hotwire (posted on all of the boards I frequent, including tripadvisor), I also raved about this site! Thanks again, I'll be back soon for help in planning my July 4th trip to Austin, tX!!
  15. Winner! Thanks to everyone from betterbidding.com for assisting me in determining that the resort was Dreams! I used the HOTWIRE link provided to secure this sweet deal. I can't wait!! Also, just an fyi. I've tracked the price of Dreams since I purchased, and it's gone both up and down. Tuesday was the cheapest--$196 a night. I'm sure it could go down, but I didn't want to wait and possibly miss an opportunity. Here's the info posted on Hotwire. Amenities Include: Beachfront Food and Beverage Included Premium Beverages Included A La Carte Dining Water Sports/Activities Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pools Restaurants Business Center Laundry Facilities Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Perhaps the most helpful sign seems to be the tripadvisor ration: 4.5 out of 5, with 960+ customer reviews (most recent in January). I will use the link here to purchase assuming someone from the site can assist me, otherwise I will keep searching around to try and figure it out. Thanks in advance for the help!
  16. Thanks, yes it is a 4 star and it also says "resort property" in the description. Just to let you know, the link won't work. I tried. I will hold off on buying until I can use the link.
  17. Also, when I try to use the HOTWIRE link it won't work. It comes up with a windows error screen. Just an fyi. I'm not ready to buy until I can get a better feel for which hotel it is that I'm looking at, but I wanted to bring it to the attention of the board.

  19. Hi everyone! Long time lurker here. I'm preparing to purchase through hotwire and have a few questions. I'm booking for September, so I have time. Too bad the deal I found yesterday is gone today. :) So here's my question--can anyone give me an example of some hotels that are located in City Center? I think I pegged Dreams Cancun as offering a good deal, but it says the hotel that I thought was Dreams is in "City Center" and I have no clue where in Cancun that is? The map is absolutely no help whatsoever. Can anyone help?
