  1. stayed here from the july 17th to the 18th. I got the West Tower and was happy. 1. Bathroom was one of the higher class ones I ever seen. I can't recall but the toilet was gold plated(maybe??) but it sucked anything down it with no possible chance of being stuffed up. There was a seperate bathtub and a shower which I was def impressed. 2. Bed area was nice but I am not a bed conasuir so I was def fine with what I slept in that night. 3. The view was of the back pool area but too bad I did not get to use it the next day due to the short stay. Overall def worth it to stay here and a you can make it a day trip by walking down the strip. We made it to circus circus before we went to dinner.
  2. I was at the Luxor checking in August 17th and I was thinking about this 20$ trick. Well I was lazy and just flat out asked is it possible for an upgrade to the tower rooms instead of the typcial pyramid rooms.(see if it would cost more) The counter person let me have a complementary upgrade so that was it. Maybe it was because it was a Monday even though I had to wait 30+ minutes get to the counter. In the end I left a decent room tip when I left.
  3. Do you know when you win your stay sometimes or maybe all the time they ask "if you want to add an extra night for the same price" you bid. In your case you won the last night so I am not sure how you will work around that unless you bid again for those other nights and then in that case you might have to change your room from PL bid to PL bid. Hopefully that makes sense. about the taxes... Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $60.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $120.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $25.43 (USD) Total Room Cost: $145.43 (USD)
  4. I started the bid at 40 with increments of 10 I choose beverly hills/west hollywood and hollywood for 3 stars minimum once i got rejected a few times and added more I added another area with no difference in star levels. That helped me because it still works from the 4* down and my initial locations. Actual hotel was not my choice but I read some reviews and I am satisfied excpet of course the 20/night parking which I was expecting. At least is was not as bad at Mellenium in Boston(90 night for 4 stars woohoo) but 40$/night parking :) Note: I just looked at my PL confirmation for the hotel, I actual won it at 60/night but with taxes came out to 72
  5. Trip is 8/17:Las vegas(Luxor for one night @ 50) 8/18-8/20: LA 8/21-822: San Fransico(staying with friends) cheaper than priceline :) Rest is below all through the internets and research The final word is: Flight Expedia: 305/ticket ---------------------------------------- NYC - LAS(8/17) SFO - NYC(8/22) --------------------------------------- Car[ALAMO]: 351 -------------------------------------- Compact Pickup: LAS(8/18) Return: SFO(8/22 ------------------------------------ Hotel: [Priceline] Bid won @ 70/night ------------------------------------ Hollywood Heights Hotel(3*) check in(8/18) check out(8/20) -----------------------------------
  6. sigh... I did not go through your links :) I will follow up the previous thread though :)
  7. Any recommendations on a buffet where you get the most bag for your buck. My friend told me that Paris has a good one but searching the internet told me otherwise(Rio international, planet hollywood, etc.) Maybe someone who has been to couple before could help me find the right one. I would perfer the type of buffet to be dinner or late lunch before I leave to LA on a full stomach and I don't mind driving somewhat out of the way. 15-20 min w/0 traffic
  8. Need some help with the bidding. I am looking for Location: [Redondo - Manhattan Beaches, Santa Monica & Marina Del Rey] Stars: 2.5 to 3 Price: 100 or below Date: 8/18 - 8/20 per night Can someone help with some bidding tips?
  9. 1. Did not bid but checked PRICELINE, Expedia (same prices) 2. Win might be 1$ a day but taxes and fees will come out to 200+ 3. one way from Las Vegas to San Francisco airport 4. Arriving 8/17 and leaving 8/22 so...6 days having the car unless I don't get it until the next day if Las vegas stuff is very accessable
  10. I am traveling from Las Vegas to San Fran 8/17 - 8/22. I been seeing prices around the 500 range. Car is only 200+ and the taxes and charges come out to 100% of the price :) Is there any other method of working a better deal on this. I guess Dollar or one of them have the 10% off deal. Anything else out there. For that price I can lease a decent car for 2 months!!!
  11. Check in: 3/15/08 & check out:3/16/08 1. Check in and out went smooth with PL reservations. Asked for upgrade with no tricks involved and told no suites left but got a king size bed. 2. Bed was decent, bathroom was a split(Shower & toilet seperate room from sink in main sleeping area). Fridgerator was nice to have. Regular cable tv. Newspapaer left outside your door in the morning(both days). 3. Room service was fine. Only minor issue. Asked for extra towels saturday night(worked out) asked for extra towels sunday(no avail they were off I guess by a certain time) just got towels at front desk. 4. Pool was nice and warm. Very relaxing and the noise was'nt too bad because my room was pool side and the pool along with the bar were closed at 12am. Unless your an early sleeper?? 5. If you stay in this hotel you will need some form of transportation to main torist area(couple miles) ex. Scooter, car, rental car, cabs, and there are even trolleys. 6. Denny's apart of the hotel for late night snackers(24 hrs) but I did not use it. Overall it was a quality *2.5 hotel.
  12. That was def a nice post but luck was on your side that night! Well if Dollar rental got a corvette I am on it!
  13. last year I got the mellenia (4*)for 90/night for two nights in march. Maybe it was some luck but I got f'd!!!(40/day parking) I learned my lesson. Going to stay in Boston call that hotel you get before you arrive so you have a plan for the parking.

  16. If it helps. Hotel:Price-line Bidding: Accepted, Radisson,*2.5 @165/night(3/15-3/17) Airfare:Price-line Bidding: Accepted, Delta(NY-FLL), 150/RT Car rental: FLL Dollar: 10% Amex discount convertible, 227/week
  17. Ok so I did the reseach today and final word is... FLL(Ft Lauderdale) March 14, 10pm March 19, 5pm Convertible Best prices I could find Dollar: 181.89[246.51] & Online using AmEx card(10% discount) 163.70[227.23] Thrifty: 181.89[246.51] So does this make sense(priceline) -bid for a convertible less than 163.70 up to that value??? Funny thing is I called some retailer's directly and for the exact travel data at the top gave them the quotes were out of this world like double or triple the price so final word is through the internet. Right now my best bet is the Dollar online using AmEx card deal for 163.70[227.23] unless i can do better with help??
  18. thank you for both replies Later tonight I will do the research on what you guys gave. Right now seems 30ish/day is AVG. In the end how do you get around that 60-even 70 additional crap cost!! Its like no matter how much you save add an additional 30%+ to your best deal out there. Ex.. get a car rental for 1$/day for 5-6 days then final price is 77$!!! Exageration but you know what I am talking about :)
  19. DETAILS Airline: DELTA Arrive: March, 14, 10:46 PM Leave: March 19, 6:00 PM My Priceline email for "adding a car rental" to my plane reservation keeps on fluctuating ex. one day its 40/day another 60/day. Funny thing is today this is what is on the email Compact Car - $60/day Room for: 2 adults, 2 children and 3 suitcases (1 large, 2 small) Choose This Car Mid-size Car - $40/day Room for: 2 adults, 2 children and 4 suitcases (2 large, 2 small) Choose This Car Full-size Car - $42/day Room for: 4 adults and 5 suitcases (2 large, 3 small) Choose This Car Standard Car - $41/day Room for: 2 adults, 2 children and 3 suitcases (2 large, 1 small) Choose This Car Sport Utility - $50/day Room for: 4 adults, 1 child and 6 suitcases (3 large, 3 small) COMPACT CAR IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAT BETTER SIZE CARS :) ??? 1. Can some one give me any advice or codes or know deals right now in FLL to get the best car with the best price ??? 2. Should I wait untll 12am when I arrive to save an extra day on the total car rental??
  20. You can close this thread: Thank you for all the help I booked Super8 with the AAA discount. Best I could do. I will bookmark this and use it hopefully next year: http://www.visitpa.com/visitpa/CabinFeverList.pa#2
  21. 1. ok....I don't want to bid higher then the best price I found listed below (67/night) 2. I don't want another region, I want Stroudsburg/ Tannorville area -I did not bid yet. -My plan right now is to use the super 8 motel because thats where I stayed last year and it was fine and in the right location for everything else with the AAA discount it comes to 142 total after taxes and fees or [67.39/night before taxes and fees], tax: $8.09 -so I want to finalize this tonight. For some help should I start my bid around 50 and work my way up to 67 try to beat this deal. If not then I will not even bid and just make the reservation as is because that price sounds right to me I guess my perfect plan is to get the super8 beating the AAA discount as well when I bid but if I can get a better motel at a better price that is why I am asking all these questions for help but I understand you need the info from me as well
  22. Just did a little research.. Hotel save website, Orbitz(SUPER8, Stroudsburg): 170.51 total charges actual hotel online, SUPER8, Stroudsburg:158 or 142/AAA discount Now should I go on Price-line and bid lower that 158 to maximize my deals??
  23. yes but up to a certain point....My max and min values are not enough to answer that what I am willing to spend or your saying I gotta spend more than what I have displayed??
  24. Where: Poconos region but I prefer Bartonsville or stroudsburg, PA for a ski weekend check in:01/18 check out: 01/20 price: (min 60/night) or (max 80/night),before taxes and fees Prefer (*3 or min *2) but at the best value (Tannersville - Bartonsville) zone is fine. Main reason is I done this trip 3 times already 1. Comfort inn around I remember 90ish/night 2. Comfort inn final price two nights for 265 3. Forget Comfort inn(price went too high), tried somewhere else I think it was motel 8 for 70ish a night same area 4. This time I want to maximize my money and stay in same location using priceline or whatnot.
