  1. Thereuare CAn you edit the title to reflect this purchase Thanks
  2. After bidding unsuccessfully for 3* up to $60 on priceline. I decided to take this 3* Orlando Universal Seaworld for $54 per night. As I suspected it was the Sheraton World which definitely has mixed reviews but couldn't beat the price and needed 2 Adults and 2 Children. Theruare can you edit the heading
  3. Yes I saw that 2.5* review/rating and was thinking the sane thing. I am booking for somebody else and I have a budget of $265 total for the 4 nights including taxes and fees. I thought the Sheraton because of the spa and Tripadvisor rating
  4. 3* With Resort, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, High Speed, Spa With my limited research I was thinking it might be Sheraton World Any help appreciated Check-in Dec 25 check out Dec 29
  5. As per the Hotwire Hotel Lists pinned to the beginning of the Canada section, that is a match for the Holiday Inn Select, so that is my best guess
  6. Hi There is a map on the priceline bidding page that clearly shows each of the zones. You can look at each of the zones and only select the ones that are suitable. If your bid is successful you will only get a hotel from one of your chosen zones. I believe the areas that you would like are zones in the Newark NJ bidding vicinity. So that is why it says Newark area. There are 7 zones to select from in the area. Hope this helps
  7. I believe that the OP checked Hotwire as I did and found nothing listed in the West vancouver area for the June 6th date
  8. Hi If that is not some special event date then the hotels may not have given inventory to Hotwire yet. I would keep checking to see if availability opens up. If your plans are definite and this is some special date then you could take one of the Downtown hotels. If it were me I would try to book a cancellable backup and then keep checking rates and availability with HOTWIRE (since priceline does not have a West zone)to see if you could get a better deal.
  9. you can look 330 days in advance on Hotwire or bid on priceline
  10. Hi actually the bid amount gets entered first and your info goes in second, then you confirm your information before the actual bid gets placed. If your bid is accepted then your ccard is charged right away. You are correct about the zone selection procedure. good luck
  11. There is nothing you can do to target a particular hotel. If you bid higher trying to avoid a particular hotel(or target a different one) you risk a serious overbid and ending up paying extra for the hotel you are trying to avoid
  12. If you are looking for 3* at the airport, then your rebid zones will be ones that only have up to 2.5 * bidding available. Kissimmee, Orlando East, Sand Lake, Disney West, Winter Garden and Winter Park are all free rebids for 3* IN oRLANDO So you could bid $37 and if rejected add one of the above zones and bid again with a higher amount. If rejected start over with Airport and another different rebid zone selected. Keep doing this with Airport and one of the rebid zones selected. If you exhaust all the zones then start over with Airport and 2 rebid zones selected. If done properly you can make up to 64 bids(you obviously won't need to use all 64) for a 3* in the airport zone and if you are succesful you will be sure to get an airport hotel Keep us updated on your bids, and feel free to ask for more help
  13. The icons are a match for the Fiesta Americana Condessa so that would be my best guess
  14. Hi A profile should be created when you make your 1st bid, with options for canada.
  15. Hi Glad you won your room. The $27 tax also includes priceline booking fees so it is still high but not all tax
  16. Hotwire has packages 4*from Seattle for $650+ and up and priceline packages are closer to $600
  17. Previous wins have been less than $60, but based on current prices I think it will take more than $60. You could book a cancellable backup and then see if prices go down. Since there are no free rebids you can only make 1 bid every 24hrs. I would go ahead and try $60 bid and see what happens. If rejected then you can decide further. Please let us know what happens
  18. Unfortunately the airfare and hotel were all in one purchase, otherwise you could have not cancelled and the hotel might have rescheduled you. I had this happen in Toronto once , just a hotel though. At least you got vouchers for the flights, although it might have been better to lose the flights and get a rescheduled room. As soon as you tried to cancel, hotwire saw a big profit opportunity way above their standard fee( although it was their right) If I ever have to cancel(I won't call hotwire, I will just call the hotel and try to check-in over the phone) I would rather the hotel get the $ than hotwire.
  19. Hi There are 2 free rebid zones for 3*when bidding for Quebec(they only have up to 2* properties) which means that you can bid again right away just by adding the additional zone knowing that they have no 3* hotels. So if you wish to stay in zone A with zone B and C as the free rebid zones then you could bid as follows: Zone A if rejected then Zone A & B If rejected start a new bid and select Zone A & C if rejected then Zone A & B & C this method gives you 4 bids for 3* every 24 hours. So in effect your total # of bids available is 2 to the power "n" where "n" is the number of free rebid zones.(in this case 2 to the power 2 = 4) I believe this information is located somewhere else on this board
  20. Hi You are never guaranteed a particular hotel, only a quality level and zone location. So if you must stay at the Marriott then you might not want to use priceline, since there are at least 2 possibilities for a 3* in downtown
  21. Hi the winning bids are in $US. I think that there might be a film festival during part of your stay. Base on Hotwire rates the 17th 18th and 20th,21st & 22 all Reasonable 4* rates fom $77 up to$107. The 16th and 19th are both around $242. You might consider splitting your bids. Possibly staying in the airport zone on your 1st night and then making 3 more bids 17-18, 19, & 20-22. Because the 16th and 19th are so high it will take a tremendous over bid to secure a room for your entire stay
  22. I also missed out on this property this year due to hurricane damage. I am hoping for better luck next year. Rejected at $104,105 and 106 I was happy to get it at this price since conventional rates are over $400 per night
  23. That is why it is important to do rate research. Trying to target a particular hotel by bidding higher can be costly. If what you say is true then Priceline has access to only one hotel at a particular star level in a particular zone at any given time. I don't think that is true especially for Downtown zones in large cities. I have seen bids accepted at 2 different properties(same star level) for the same dates
  24. I don't think that this is true. I believe that priceline might have multiple hotels available for a particular date. Each hotel has given priceline a rate. Hotels might have the same rates but probably not. when a bid is made priceline randomly selects a hotel and checks if the bid is above the acceptable price, if it isn't then another hotel is checked, this continues until all hotels have been checked. If the bid is above the acceptable price then that room is booked immediately.
  25. I am not sure if they have any 5* properties right now but it might be the Ritz Carlton when it reopens.
