  1. Hi Actually your credit card was not used to pay the hotel. It was used to pay Priceline. Priceline then pays the hotel with one of their cards. That way if you happen to overbid, priceline pockets the difference. So as long as the hotel is ok with it, there should not be a problem. I have done this several times. I have also added names to the reservation so that another person to check-in early. I've even had the reservation switched to a different day once or twice
  2. Actually the total price is higher through Hotwire since they charge about $7 more in taxes and fees
  3. Just did a search for West Palm Beach on hotwire for Mar 12th and some of the results listed were from Hotels, com. The regular opaque listings were given as well. This is the 1st time that I have seen this, but maybe it isn't new since they had been teaming with Expedia for their package deals. When you select a hotels .com listing you are given total price and hotel name. Check the Htels.com site directly and the price was the same
  4. Tried the add a nite feature to see if I could get the same $49 rate from the 6/28 bid, but they offered $98. So I started fresh and worked my way up to $85 before being accepted
  5. Needed nights split bid since it is very likely that the Marriott is the only 3.5* in this zone $49 for Sunday
  6. Used PRICELINE, sorry I didn't use the link as click throughs are blocked from my workplace. Is there a paypal address for donations?
  7. I think I figured it out. The South Hotel is most likely the Gran Melia as the Hyatt Caribe does not have Spa services. It could also be the Hilton but the trip advisor rating for Hilton is 4.5 and the hotwire says trip advisor is 4 which matches Gran Melia
  8. 4* South Hotel Zone( Hyatt or Hilton?) the trip advisor rating makes me think Hyatt but the packages makes me think Hilton because the Icons all match This hotel features the following amenities: $134 Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program 4* North (Pretty sure its ME) $139 Resort Beachfront Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services
  9. the short answer is no. You risk overbidding if you bid more $ trying to get a specific hotel
  10. For rental cars I have found that it is best to reserve a vehicle through a conventional site now. Keep checking for a better deal and cancel/reserv again as necessary. Then within approx 1 week of your dates, strat bidding on priceline trying to beat the best price that you have reserved.
  11. Rejected at $61. I was really expecting the Westin based on research at Hotwire, but I am very happy with this result.
  12. Tried priceline for $40 for Birch Run but rejected. The hotwire zone is larger and includes Saginaw area, but that was ok Four Points Sheraton Shuttle Pool Fitness Restaurant High Speed
  13. Hi When using priceline I always base my bid on the lowest conventional price that I find for the quality level that I am interested in. Accepted bids do not follow the order of conventional prices, in my experience. For example I recently returned from a Resort stay in Cancun at the JW Marriott. At the time of bidding the conventional price of the JW was $400 + per night. There were other possible resorts with prices from $200 and up per night. I started bidding at $90(I usually start a bid at less than 50% of conventional prices) and eventually won my JW Marriott for $107 per night. I was pleasantly surprised to get the Marriott but I was willing to accept any of the resort properties. Pricelines doen't always have inventory from every possible hotel. I am glad that you were successful in your bid, but I would say that you probably would have been accepted at a significantly lower bid.
  14. for a friend 1st bid of $60 rejected added midway and accepted at $62
  15. If you check a package for your dates, the Omni seems to fit best, except it also lists oceanfront, so I can't say for sure.
  16. We will need to know the dates of your stay and the number of travellers that you selected
  17. Bid 4* up to $75 then 3* up to $47 2.5* rejected at $40 accepted at $45
  18. Does that price include taxes? Hotwire still has what I believe is the Omni all inclusive for $230 per night for your dates. The RIU might be a step up from the Omni but you would need to decide if the additional price is worth it
  19. This could be the Grand Solaris based on a comparison of the packages available for your dates
  20. Not many of the Hotels on priceline offer all-inclusive as an add on at check-in, maybe the Omni but I am not sure. You should check Hotwire as they have several all inclusives. They also allow for the 2 kids. HOTWIRE currently has a 4* AI Resort for $225/night for 2 adults and 2 children for your dates. It seems like a match for the Omni
  21. Does it meet Priceline's 5* criteria? What is the highest star rating offered for bidding by priceline in the zone that you believe this hotel is located in? Bid the highest star rating available in the zone that you think this hotel is located in. If that zone only offers up to 3* bidding then the hotel that you like may not participate with priceline. Can you give specific details about the hotel and location
  22. Has this hotel been downgraded from 4*? I have stayed at it in the past as a 4* property
  23. hi if you think that you originally overbid at $50 then you might try a rebid otherwise going from your bid screen should be ok.
