  1. Can anyone help with a potential Priceline Express hotel? FLL South 3* Dec7-Dec9 Amenities: Free Parking, Apt Shuttle, Business Center, Free Internet, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Indoor or Outdoor Pool, No Smoking $85 plus - rated 8/10. Am using PRICELINE links for searches. Many thanks
  2. I know it's the off season, but even I was surprised to bag this one at $36 plus plus - we've stayed here before and it is a very well managed and maintained hotel with shuttle service to YVR.
  3. Thanks for all the information - I'm about to start bidding for a visit later this year and you've given me some really useful strategies.
  4. Thanks for your help - I left it a day or two to confirm everything and of course when I went back, it had disappeared from inventory so I'll make other arrangements - moral of the story is that if you have decided, move before it goes. I have noticed lately that both PL and HW shift inventory earlier and that prices seem to rise closer to the date. This seems to be a newer phenomenon so I'll start jumping on things quicker in future.
  5. Thanks for the update on searching - this has given way more amenities available. Search frame is still unchanged - Canal Belt E - Plantage, 93 US per night 1 Nov - 5 Nov 2014 Full list of amenities: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower
  6. Anyone with experience in bookingAmsterdam that could pinpoint the following Hotwire offering: 4* Canal Belt E - Plantage 1 - 5 Nov 2014 Amenities: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Centre Restaurant Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby I'm thinking that it is the Movenpick but if anyone could give a more definitive answer, it would be much appreciated.
  7. FYI, ended up using PRICELINE to bid - suceessful with 4* Toronto Airport (West?)$71++ total $89. Westin Toronto Airport The Delta YYZ is a very nice hotel but quite a bit further out, the Westin although older and maybe not a 4* (IMO) was very close and accessible with a quick shuttle. Overall, pleased with the result.

  9. Any help in identifying following hotel would be appreciated. I can't track it down from existing lists anywhere. Toronto Airport West 16/1-17/1 3.5* currently 74++ Free Internet Pet Friendly Indoor Pool Airport Shuttle Pool (yes, a second icon!) Restaurant Business Self Service Laundry Many thanks
  10. Hi any thoughts on a 2.5* YVR Airport hotel on Hotwire? I don't see it listed and I haven't come across a 2.5* before. Facilities: Airport Shuttle / High Speed Internet Access. I would have thought the Coast, but they have a restaurant attached. Tks in advance.
  11. Hi, we quite often get the Radisson when we try for London Ont, it's an older property which is starting to show somewhat, but it is a great location, sleep number beds, an OK gym and a great swimming pool. Staff are very pleasant and friendly, very helpful. Attached restaurant serves pretty decent food although atmosphere is somewhat lacking. At least the complimentary parking is a bonus compared to the Armories downtown.
  12. Good morning all, has anyone recently had any success with a Priceline bid in Vancouver downtown for a 3* ?? I'm constantly bidding on 3, 3.5 and 4 stars but not coming up with anything for July 11 - 13. I'd like to succeed with a 3* bid as last time we landed the Coast which we really liked but I haven't see any advisory traffic for Vancouver other than the 4* which seems to focus on either the Hyatt or the Delta. I don't see anything to give me a comparative pricing strategy other than a 4*. thanks for your input.
  13. Hi all, I know it's a bit of a vague question, but we are looking to book a 2/3 night stay in downtown Vancouver in mid-July. Would any experienced bidders be able to give us an idea as to whether midweek would be a better bet or to try for the weekend? My initial thoughts would be weekend, but it's cruise season and I wonder whether this might impact on availability. Many thanks
  14. If you plan to have no luggage or hand baggage and are in training for the olympics it's possible, otherwise consider some sort of transport to the nearest hotels - it's a slog from T3 to even the nearest hotels on Bath Rd. I would check out hotels that lie within the Heathrow Airport "freeflow" zone if you don't want to cab it or take the Heathrow Hoppa (an absolute ripoff in my opinion). Freeflow allows you to travel free of charge on public transport - most major hotels on Bath Rd lie within the zone. We have had excellent experiences via PRICELINE with the Sheraton Skyline and the Heathrow Sheraton.
  15. hi thereaure, sorry i didn't return to tie this one down. I had a problem with getting HOTWIRE to accept my credit card - caused I think by the country of origin for the credit card. I had to let this one go. Another member of the party booked a different hotel directly using a search site I believe (may have been Hotels.com). thanks
  16. Hi all, I'm looking at identifying a HOTWIRE hotel as follows: USD $39 3.5-star hotel in Manchester West - Salford Area Amenities listed are: Restaurant / Business Centre / High Speed Internet Access. Anyone with any thoughts as to hotel, much appreciated. Reservation would be for one night March 7 2009
  17. Note: the Sheraton Skyline does NOT have a free shuttle. LHR forbids hotels from offering their own shuttle service. You have to take the Hotel Hoppa which charges an exorbitant UKL 4 per person each way. That means for two people, it's UKL 16 round trip. The Skyline is on the local bus service routing which at the moment is free under a scheme called Freeflow to encourage employees at LHR to use public transport. We took this service last year and it was not only quicker than the Hoppa, but more frequent.
  18. canu clarify your bidding strategy? I tried the same for Oct 21 and got the "add $17" panel. I tried expanding to London Luton and offering $60 but no dice. How did you enter your second attempt? did you bid a second time on another day or what? thanks
  19. I just tried the search for four people and got the higher amenities choice - as the price is for the room, what would the position be if only two people turned up? That really is pretty strange - a room is a room... why the distinction on 2 or 4 people in it?
  20. thanks for the informative update - if it reappears at that price with those amenities i will book it ...... accommodation seems to be pretty tight that weekend
  21. **!!@@ - i debated whether to book it straight away in case it would change - i was on very early this morning and the amenities breakdown for both the 2.5* and the 3* were identical..... the 2.5* was priced at 59 and the 3* at 102 so it looks like it's been revised already. From your experience theraure, can hotels come into the system and clear that quickly or was it likely a mis-entry by Hotwire and was never available in the first place this morning? best regards
  22. hi all, further request - another property has materialised in the 2.5* category for Apr 25-28 if anyone has experience and could help in identifying the following: Fitness Centre Restaurant Pool Business Centre High Speed Internet Access. I'm quite happy with options other than the Ramada as it doesn't get too many positive reviews. Thanks
